Except it's not Warleader that's the problem here. It hasnt been since release. It's the cavalcade of synergy it gets in Paladin. Sunkeeper Tarim and Gentle Megasaur are the offenders here. The latter being what should be nerfed instead of crippling a whole tribe.
If we're going to flat out nerf an entire tribe because one class got competitive after ages of garbage tier, then Pirates are just as much fault for Pirate Warrior. The health Captain gives is just as bad of it worse because pirates on the whole have more health to avoid clearing and trade better anyway.
With no aura health there is literally one card for it once Rockpool(And Primalfin if you include it) rotates out. Seer and Warleader together are what push you out of clearing range early, and that's been the case forever.
The same exact counter options have always existed. And they still work. Plenty of ways to get rid of Warleader and by extension an early board. If you happen to be losing to an aggro deck because you didn't draw your board clears early, thats not the aggro decks fault nor it's problem.
The problem is losing to murlcos DESPITE having boardclears. They just won't clear the board and leave too many bodies leftover and still cost you an entire turn, which can be crucial if they follow up with Gentle Saur. Hellfire, Pyro + Equality, Consecration, Holy Nova etc might be able to kill the warleader but not any of the other murclos. They will now, which is huge. That said, murloc still snowball and are just as effective aggressive-wise. This change was very good overall.

I crafted Finja, 2x gentle megasaur and 2x vilefin a few days ago. That's 3.2k dust down the toilet with this nerf. Blizz should give full disenchant values for these cards as the collateral damage recieved is too much from the warleader nerf. These cards will never see play apart from murloc pala (which at best is a low tier2 after the nerf), making them completely useless without the warleader synergy.
@ Topic: The nerf makes the Paladin fight against the Lich King a lot harder or at least more expensive if you want to try a OTK or Anyfin Paladin deck.

Great change. From the very first time I saw this card in beta, the +2/+1 seemed insane to me (even though murlocs as ahole weren't that great at the time). Still feels like the same card, but less crazy balance-wise. This has the potential to make future murloc-deck less painful when you whiff on the warleader draw.
But back then it also affected your opponent's murlocs. It was a bit more balanced.

Murlocs should be so weak weak against aoe stuff. This card usually made so hard to pull a good Maelstrom or Ghoul.
Not the nerf i would do. I would rework it to "Your murlocs cost (1) less"
Murloc paladin was countering the jades and heavy control/greedy priests that are the 2 most played decks in the meta.
So you can suppose that some murloc players are going to join the cancer meta, what a terrible mistake to nerf this card Blizzard.
All this mess for not putting it into Hall of Fame, that I think its the best solution.
