Which makes them more consistent and increase their winrate when going first. That's pretty good considering that rogue is one of the worst classes since BRM.
The more i think of this, the more i realize how this card is gonna be useless. All this combo wombo starts are cute, but essentially a waste of card draw. With all these buffed minions, board clears and spells incoming, using two cards to drop a 3/3 body and deal two damage seems underwhelming. If you're playing against zoo, so what, for every minion you kill he's gonna drop two more. If you play against control, two damage is lol. If you play defias on turn 1, opponent's gonna drop a villager/creeper/ping them and take care of them pretty quick, and you wasted two cards. Shado-pan rider on turn 4? Wow, gets hexed/polymorped/frozen/blocked. 4/4 Edwin on turn 2? Nothing special, 4/4 for two cards used. 6/6 edwin on turn one? Great, but even worse for hand size, you're left with almost empty hand and have to rely on godly draw, which happens - never. Undercity Valiant on turn 1? Wow, what good is that ping for, to clear one sapling then it's removed by another sapling and hero power.
If we don't get something that has more board impact, like 4/4/4, combo deal 3 damage, or something else, we can put all the coins in the world in the deck.
Looks like it. If Rogue had a minion that synergises with coin, that would be good. Some sort of mini auctioneer that draws a card only when you use a coin.
Yes, it will. I even think it's gonna be wrong to keep the combo (You got both SI:7+conterfeit coin) in mulligan against say priest and warrior (if meta is CW/C'thun and dragon priest) as you should look for pillage or even drake. After a turn two fake coin + si7 you are left with two card in hand as rogue so you better get some tempo with it.
You don't gonna kill a tempomage 3/2 with it for example as noone gonna coin it out so we are pretty much left with flame imp as playable target but risk are warlock's heropower will carry the game as you already low on card.
I don't even sure the coin gonna make the cut however, to many dead hands.
Well clearly you wouldn't coin si face...
You want this in your opening vs fast decks which are rogues worst match up right now. against control it isnt usually a tempo play imo

Starting with counterfeit coin, SI agent and another random card is still a bad,bad start.
The original coin is stronk in rogue only because is
Starting with counterfeit coin, SI agent and another random card is still a bad,bad start.
The original coin is stronk in rogue only because is
1) FREE
2) DOESNT REPLACE ANOTHER CARD IN HAND
3) IT IS GUARANTEED AT START OF GAME
1) it is not free, to get the coin you must go second which means you are at a mana disadvantage every turn except the turn you use coin
2) This is true, the coin gets put into your hand where counterfeit coin must be played over another card
3) It is not guaranteed at the start of the game, half the time you will not have it against zoo, tempo mage or any aggro deck, this means you are at a disadvantage and will have a lower winrate.
Losing card advantage against an aggro deck is not a problem as rogue if you have board control.
I have played miracle rogue since closed beta, I have hit rank 1 multiple times with miracle rogue every year, I know what I am talking about, you make a valid point that you indeed have to put the card in your deck, but if worst case use is a +2/+2 on ediwn, or an early tomb pillager and best case is a gadgetzan cycle or a Si activator, this card is strong.
If you compare it to a prep, that is ran 2 of in every rogue deck since the beginning of time, the counterfeit coin lets you play minions for less which means it is much more flexible just less rewarding than prep in best case scenarios like gadgetzanm, overall I think the card is more consistent than prep.
Also another thing worth mentioning is the strength it has with the natural coin. It will work like half an innervate which mean turn 1 ediwns being 6/6 or turn 2 tomb pillagers etc etc.
I understand your PoV, I agree with the similarity between Coin and Preparation; maybe the only card I would cut to favor the "rogue coin" is Preparation itself. Let's see!
Guys, how can this card be bad? Of course top-decking it sucks but there are situational cards throughout HS. You can't sit here and compare it to being a worse version of innervate when -
1. Rogue uses CHEAP spells to cycle and create combos.
2. This card gets these cards out early - Pillager, Leeroy, Gadgetzan, SI:7, Gadgetzan/conceal combo, Malygos, AND it buffs questing or Edwin... it literally accelerates the 'miracle' turn, even just having 1 of them.
3. Druid uses innervate to play large minions early, rogue doesn't have many large expensive minions.
To the people that are saying it's a worse tomb pillager I believe that is false, tomb pillager is a body that provides a coin but requires a lot more to get the coin... 4 mana, and it has to die not get hexed or polymorphed or silenced. The uses for this coin could provide more aggression and earlier game winning snipes for miracle rogue - turn 5 leeroy cold blood in hand need 10 more dmg to win, what if that was pillager now you have to wait more turns and potentially not receive the coin from pillager. Leeroy + counterfiet + cold blood turn 5 10 dmg for 5 mana essentially...
Let me also add that, there are a few rogue builds that in my opinion are more consistent/powerful than miracle at the moment, I know of a specific tempo build with rogue that absolutely smashes the meta at the moment, but so many people fail to see other builds and have miracle blinders on, blizzard isn't 'pushing' anyone towards miracle rogue. Simply put miracle rogue is actually extremely weak in the meta right now considering it lacks board clear and survivability to the miracle turn, it actually needs some components to make it more viable. Rogue with free mana/combo activator/card draw is beneficial, you simply are not a well versed rogue player if you do not see this.
Only Miracle use this, without Auctioneer is almost useless.
In theory, it's not. The other use of the coin is to guarantee the trigger of early game combos like Defias Ringleader, SI:7 Agent and the shadow panda card from TGT. However, such deck that uses these cards (tempo/midrange rogue) doesn't exist (yet!), so now only Miracle uses this card. It's a good card overall and really fits the rogue's theme and mechanics.
True I guess...With Counterfeit Coin, you at least know exactly what you're getting...With Swashburglar...Not so much
Alright so let me tell everyone why this card should never have been printed.
It allows rogue to always have coin Si:7 no matter if they go first or second:
Thats it
Which makes them more consistent and increase their winrate when going first. That's pretty good considering that rogue is one of the worst classes since BRM.

well, i really don't liked this card, cuz i also dont really like miracle, i like coins but one taking a card slot in my deck? not much appealing.
Only way to use it is if they add a lot of new cards with cool combo effects,
but sadly, instead, they keep giving me cards to put into my pic.wadahell blizz, why not make a 1 mana 1/3 minion, battlecry: add a coin to your hand.
need take time to make new pic and signature using the new cards.
If Rogue can get some more combo cards, this can really see play. I would love an AoE spell instead of Blade Flurry and FoK.

I told you, dumb pieces of shit, that the effect of Counterfeit Coin would be powerful... and ofc its in every rogue list.
Just read the most of the whine posts above and see that people just have no fucking clue what tempo is.
Rogue is a class that just explodes with low mana cost stuff, card draw. The class mechanic "combo" just explains that.
How do people ever think that this card would be bad is just mind-boggling
@^ because some people think this is worse version innervate and turn 1 8/8 van cleef is stupid idea, but now ... :D
Only Miracle use this, without Auctioneer is almost useless.

lol what a shock this card is good. oh wait i already said that somewhere in this thread.
