1) MONEY: im a F2P player, meaning I dont spend money on this game, on the long run wild is much more affordable because it requires a lot less cards from every expansion while you need a lot of cards per expansion to keep up with standard... a lot of cards that are played a lot in standard dont see play in wild...
2) EXCITEMENT: Sure there are some different decks in standard, but because wild has a large cardpool it means that you can see a lot of different decks and/or a lot of crazy cards that are included in a deck that might catch you offguard...
3) EXPERIMENTING: You can experiment with crazy combos that players dont expect...
4) DIFFICULTY: A lot less tryhards in wild that keeps the format fun...

To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffer!
-Metagame changes less, people get tired of the same cards.
-Some times broken mechanics and decks.
Higher card pool, which generate new and fresh combos, and offcourse there are more answers to some plays in wild than standard.
for example Odd Paladin was weaker in wild.
thats bullshit. Can play odd pal highlander style and its still cancer af.
No, he is right. The Wild odd paladin has some cards that would break standard (mustard, QM) but it is still worse in the wild meta due to the lack of answers to explosive openings and Maelstrom Portal. It is a good deck, sure, but still a lot weaker compared to the broken powerhouses it competes with.
There are many other examples as well, like deathrattle hunter, but Even shaman and Odd rogue are improved so much in Wild they are relatively stronger there.
I think most people who say wild is expenive dont realise that it is way cheaper because carda dont rotate out. But mostly I think people hate it because of general perception
I mostly play wild to try and get to legend (obviously) but also find new synergies with cards. Take Shudderwock. Due to recent nerfs, it hasn't been used as much for combo decks. But in wild, you could make a cthun shudderwock, a yogg shudderwock or remake the old shudderwock otk viable again.
these things you can't do in standard.
it is not just people don't care about wild, it's just people don't see the potential of fun wild decks
No, I'm stopping you there, most people see the potential of wild decks, that's not at all the main reason. There are mostly two main reasons :
First of all, Hearthstone is quite an expensive game for a beginner or someone whom didn't play since 3-4 years, Wild with his larger card pool is by essence more expensive or longer to achieve (for a f2p) to get an important card pool. Plus, if you wanna be competitive you need to have multiple expansions from the past to get OP cards printed all over the years.
Those OP cards are now the second reasons, with the high value cards from previous expansions that have been stacked this leads totally broken decks, or broken situations where one card could win the game itself. I agree you see that in Standard too (especially this past two years with ValueStones expansions) but still with less impact on meta.
And then my personal reason, I just like regular meta changes and Standard are more fit to me. Also it permits to me to says good bye to card that have traumatized me or that just piss off so much (bye Deathstalker Rexxar/Jaina/Guldan)
I can tell you that the only reason for people who hate wild is that they Dust all they cards after rotation and now they cry because they can't play Wild :D you will see after this rotation there will be more wild players.
why would u play a format that barely ever changes? i go there for some games when i need a change of pace, but i don't see the meta changing much, even and odd will be run like crazy and big priest is a thing.
Wild is SUPER fun! You see decks that just do insane shit, and you have to rethink how you play the game in some ways. Having said all that, Wild is mostly for people who collect ALL the cards, and so it's expensive to have fun in Wild.

only reason for me to go there is reno
Because there are much more decks you can play or create, there are many decks that aren't maded much more than standard.
I hate wild becouse its the most expensive game ever! Imo it should be totaly free or at least 1/4 of the price. Keep in mind i ve been here since beta.
@btw not caring about wild = hating wild in gerenal
I've tried to play Wild a few times and those reno locks are insane. You get them within lethal, they are full health, cleared your board, and now have a board and I'm scratching my head going, "WTF just happened...?"
Secondly, I hate control...and that is all there seems to be in Wild. Lots and lots of control. Matches take twice as long in Wild because you have Reno decks, Death Knights, and in Priest's case, Amara. I mean...I don't have that kind of time to allow fatigue to kill me. I just don't.
I like to get in, get out and move onto the next match. I've spectated my friends playing in Wild, and it's just nuts. The learning curve is also high. I have to learn all the old cards, combos, and possibly invest in crafting quite a bit because I am F2P. I've been playing since Old Gods, but I missed out on Naxxrammas.
Anyway, it's not because I'm "basic", "afraid of change", or anything like that - I just don't like control. I don't want to sit here and have to do 160 pts of face damage per match. I'm not willing to devote that kind of time to a single match. I imagine it will only get worse as time goes on. Also, I wouldn't even know where to start in Wild. Does Wild actually have it's own metagame? I don't know....it seems like nonsensical, controlling, chaos to me. Which is NOT my idea of fun.
Wild is where Standard cards go to die, but from what I've seen, nothing stays dead in Wild...

Wild is way more varied then Standard. There is a wide range of decks and each expansion good decks can become great and the variety of decks increases.

Looking at the latest data reaper report out of the 11(!) tier 1 decks in wild, not a single one of them is control.

I feel like your perception of wild is skewed.
First: Longterm it's cheaper then Standard. Because the collection of meta cards never really changes and grows very little each expansion. With Standard you generally have to craft a lot of cards from new sets to stay competitive but in while you'll only need to craft a few cards.
2nd: OP cards in Standard aren't OP in wild. I think it's important to know that while there are a ton of broken combos and such the power of Wild is so high that these can be negated by just as powerful counters. The power level is so high and the decks so varied that broken interactions are simpy normal interactions that can be countered by other broken interactions.
3rd: This is a personal reason so whatever floats your boat but those cards in wild (except for guldan) deal way less damage then you'd think. If anything for me, Wild is an oppertunity to come up with the craziest combos, make decks that didn't work while they were in standard but now work in wild, and ultimately have a lot of fun.
People don't hate wild. People just don't care about wild.
If Blizzard doesn't care about wild, why should the players? The only way for pro players to make a living off hearthstone is by playing standard. That format is actively supported by Blizzard in the form of tournaments (I'm not counting one lousy tournament per year for wild, that's negligible).
So if all the good players focus on standard, and tournaments do too, then all the viewers naturally will, too. Which is why no one really cares about wild.
Oh, and big priest.
Fair point about Blizz caring but most players aren't Pro Players and Big Priest only appears in lik 5% of matchups.

After clawing my way to 5, I can safely say people dislike Wild because Team 5 refuses to do anything about cards that consistently overperform.
Only basic b*tches hate wild.

MORE FUN imo and you can play old cards ;p
Now we can close the thread ! ^^
There is no cancer deck in hearthstone ! You are the Cancer !
Wild is cheaper then Standard though....
