Does anyone know what's going on in wild? I am getting large numbers of opponents with the legendary cardback who are playing extremely OP decks and making extremely strong plays too. I hit rank 15 wild on the first day and peaked at rank 12 a few days ago, but then dropped to rank 14 last night and managed to get back to 13. I tried renomage, renolock and even pirate warrior to no avail. One of my friends believes that when dual class arena concluded, all the pros went back to playing wild. I have no problems in standard, am currently rank 11 with midrange demon zoolock and haven't seen anyone with legendary cardback. Wild is normally 5 ranks easier than standard which means I should be close to rank 5 in wild by now. Is this happening for you too?
I don't play wild, so I can't offer much wise input. But... I guess strong players, for some reason, are kinda tired of standard and migrated towards wild, I think it will pass after the expansion comes out though.

There is less motivation to grind to top 100 right now since its off season. So there may be more players who usually dedicate to the grind trying something different during the off season.
I doubt that is the case, but I think the midrange/tempo flavour of Standard is rubbing onto wild, meaning your decks might be outdated. Perfecting decks in Wild takes a lot longer, but the peak powerlevel is extremely high, so if your deck can't deal with the meta, you are punished even harder than in standard.
I believe Razakus priest and recruitadin are the decks to beat atm.

Howcome not last season or day 1? I only noticed it last night or shortly after dual class arena ended. All I can do is wait it out for them to winstreak to rank 5 then it will be my turn to hit rank 5 a few days after they do.

The wild meta hasn't changed much, just the player base has. I had no problems hitting rank 10 early in October and rank 4 mid October with my homebrew N'zoth renomage. I also did well with renolock. This season, rank 13 feels as hard as rank 4 last season.
Not noticed. The Season they had qualification for the Wild tournament should have been the most competitive, didn't notice any particular difference then either.
This season is just as hard, if not more so than the tournament season several months back. Wild is extremely competitive to the point that rank 13 feels as hard as rank 4 normally is. I don't understand the reasoning since there's no tournament, why is everyone tryharding instead of playing homebrew decks like every other season?

I believe that the reason it feels harder to climb the last two seasons is not because of more "legendary players," but because of a more diverse meta and the rise of competitive highroll decks.
I reach rank 5 floor most months in wild and it is very normal to face majority legend cardbacks and golden heroes during my climb. And the more you win, the more it feels like you'll be matched up with better players.
***SPECULATION: When I was on my legend run in wild a couple months ago (Rank 3 to Legend) I would switch over to standard to play a few games to get change of pace and blow off steam. When I switched it seemed like I was playing exclusively against legend cardbacks even though I was only at rank 16-ish in standard. It felt like I was getting matched with harder opponents at my rank in standard because of my relatively high rank in wild. Also if I played a casual game it was against a golden hero or legend cardback. Super-weird. Is there any truth to this theory that somehow your hidden MMI crosses over into Standard if you're a high rank in Wild and vice versa?
Currently i'm at Wild Rank 11 and while i'm finding the climb to be a little bit more "grindy" than usual, it doesn't feel like there are better players (than normal). It feels like the decks are a little less predictable though at these lower ranks. The meta should tighten up a lot in my experience once we get to rank 5.
I played alot of wild today and was able to advance from rank 13 to rank 12, but no further. Have seen very few legendary cardbacks today, they probably are rank 10 or higher by now. But i'm still getting an unusually large amount of aggro. The meta was much slower in most previous seasons. All I can do is wait a few more days for them to advance up the ranks before I try for rank 10+ with my renolock and renomage. October season I hit rank 4 no problem mid season. Wild has been extremely frustrating this season and I pray it's just a fluke and future seasons return to normal.
On NA Wild, I've advanced about a rank a day, and now I'm at Rank 7.
I am ranking with Paladin, and I've had to change my deck about three times this month to deal with the meta. And yup, as I've advanced, I've had to make my deck faster. Right now I'm playing an agro recruitment deck I found on meta storm.

I think it's called RNG. Sometimes you just hit bad streaks. Wait a day and suddenly it becomes easier.
Take a look at this and you'll see why they are at so low rank: https://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Ranked
Jump to the Season Reset section and scroll a bit down maybe, depends on the size of the screen
