Simply math my friend, that i have no idea how to solve lmao.
It's easy to find out if you have 2 of every card in your deck, because then the chances of me not drawing wildfire once until they are the last two cards in my deck, excluding card tutors, are 0.690%. Now I have 2 wildfires but 1 of everything else, so this means that i have double the chances of drawing a wildfire everytime i draw a card and that's hard to figure out, unless i'm overcomplicating things.
So I was testing out a silly reno wildfire deck for the patch where I run double wildfire because It's the strongest card in the deck. I run a couple spell tutors and I was testing out how long it usually took for me to draw one of them playing against innkeeper.
The situation here was that both wildfires ended up as the last 2 cards in my deck (even with me playing ALL my spell tutors, including tortollan btw). What are the chances of not drawing A SINGLE COPY of my wildfires in a deck where there are no other duplicates? Is there anyway for me to find this out without spending too much time?
Am I wrong to think like this? Played all three archetypes and this is how it always turns out. Renolock beats both and Even Reno smashes Evenlock because of board clears and winning on value. i'm not saying Renolock is very good (it's good but y'know) in Wild, i'm saying that Renolock would beat Even Reno on the value in the end. Everyone knows that Even Reno and Evenlock are two of the top decks in wild right now also.
Bonus Question: Would you consider these decks high skill, mid-tier skill or low-skill?
As this acts similar to how Elise does, I would have it discovering all three since it don’t really get much value out of this while you just are discovering 1 legendary. There are possibilities that you are only discovering bad legendaries too.
Pre-nerf Undertaker, Patches, Reno Jackson, pre-nerf Fiery War Axe, pre-nerf Warsong Commander and pre-nerf Yogg-Saron were/are all extremely powerful and/or unfair cards. Some more blatantly obvious than others but all of them in a league of their own.
Cards like Mysterious Challenger and Dr. Boom were amazing back in the day, but HS was more Curvestone back then, and playing the most powerful cards on curve was what won you games. If you play Wild today, 90% of high rank decks have either Reno and Kazakus or Patches (and then Keleseth or Finley) in it. I very rarely see Challengers or Boom these days. Patches and Reno are absolutely on par with all these nerfed cards and if you're not running them in your Wild decks you're at a disadvantage.
You have a point, but if we fill up wild ranked with just Pirate Warrior and Reno Mage/Priest/Warlock what would happen then?
There would just be an RNG based meta. ex. If you draw patches and your opponent doesn't you lose. Because an 1/1 for free on turn one is just to strong. Reno vs Reno would be the most boring game ever where the strongest reno deck wins (Reno Priest).
That's why you have a possibility to rank up without Pirate Warrior or Reno Mage/Priest/Warlock. :)
I would play Barnes instead of Edwin because Edwin is just unnecessary and doesn't really fit into this type of deck, and because Barnes just has too many good targets in this deck. Don't take this as an complaint, just as a suggestion. Even if Barnes is better than Edwin in this deck, it doesn't mean that Barnes has better winrate than Edwin overall.
I see the concerns in this card being a deathrattle, but I think people being worried about silencing it isn't as big of a concern as it should be. Afterall, not many classes have a class specific silence & the one-of Spellbreaker that only some people run might have already been used prior to turn 7+ or may not be drawn at all.
Other removal for this that classes have?
Mages - Poly (Easy to bait out with other more threatening targets & often just a one-of) Locks - Trade and then Nether? Priest - Silence (natural or from lyra) Rogue - Sap or Vanish Druid - None Shaman - Hex (if they even run it) & Devolve (this would probably help more than hurt if you're not comboing) Hunter - None (Unless lucky Rexxar shennanigans) None - Trade and then Brawl? Pally - Trade and then Equality or Aldor?
For us unlucky players, this minion will survive the brawl.
Thanks for all the replies, and sorry for the late answer, I was trying out some of the suggestions!
Concerning the Hunter deck, I did make the change suggested (bare the bearshark I'm still waiting to get from a pack) and I did reach rank 5. I don't think I'll try for legend this month as the grind is real and doesn't feel worth it for a cardback and a golden common since most of the matchups I get are negative netdecks (tempo rogue, aggro druid, zoolock...).
Regarding mage, I do like the class as it's my second most played with ~300 ranked wins from my previous life. However it felt a bit weird to play it when I got back as the meta changed quite a bit. I did try some secret mage (without Primordial Glyph and Arcanologist, using "secret" minions instead), but it felt very clumsy. I didn't feel in control as I do with Hunter knowing my deck inside and out. Lack of practice and sub-par deck sure made it awkward...
I agree that Primordial Glyph feels strong (turn 5 Flamestrike...), but probably not the strongest. Problem is always the same: even though I have some dust, I need more cards than I can craft and the neutrals that could be used in many decks feel attractive (Doomsayer, Murloc Warleader, Southsea Captain, Hungry Crab...). Or if I craft expansion class epics, maybe the most broken ones like Vilespawn Slayer ?
Sweet irony, I finally played enough arena to get to my free legendary from Frozen Throne, and I got that bastard Prince Keleseth. Feels great as a F2P. Maybe I should try to craft a tempo rogue or zoolock and give them a taste of their own medicine :)
You actually get a Golden Epic too, plus a golden rare i think, it may help you if you are low on dust. When you have enough dust you should definitely check out Secret Mage (btw Primordial Glyph not needed). As you are a returning player and f2p, try not to disenchant most of your collection for a deck that may last a month or so.
I loved the joust and inspire mechanic in theory and imo Blizz could have made them huge as discover. It was only a matter of balancing the cards with the appropriate keywords. Blizz made a huge mistake with TGT and ruined both isnpire and joust sadly.
Nexus Champion Saraad and Confessor Paletress is great with Shadowreaper Anduin right now, but i see your point

Otherwise this deck is good, good work
