Today, I hit rank 15 for the first time in Standard and I remember reading some old forum thread that if you reach rank 15 or higher, you're ranked higher than 75% of all HS players (at least in NA). Does anyone know if this is still true, or have the stats changed?
At the start of the next season when the game tells you the highest rank you achieved in the previous season it'll tell you among what % of players you ranked.
Rank 15 isn't too impressive unless you're new but in any case congrats and hope you can keep climbing :)
Rank 15 is an important step, I consider it as the 3rd step out of 4:
Step 4: Rank 20 ---> play 1-3 games per month to get the cardback, it's for people that do not really play the game, but don't want to miss the cardback.
Step 3: Rank 15 ---> a golden rare = 100 dust per month. An important goal for most casual player.
Step 2: Rank 5 --> a golden epic = 400 dust. Many aim for this one, but rank 10 to 5 is much longer than 15 to 10.
Step 1: Legendary. Nuff said.
Do not listen to other people that talk bad about reaching rank 15; not everyone got a huge collection yet or is willing to grind so many hours for rank 5. Others will get toxic if you don't have 8 arena wins on average, so just don't listen to such individuals.
The problem is that rank 10 is not rewarding if you compare it with the other 4 steps.

Congrats on Rank 15. As a previous poster mentioned, the game will tell you which percentage you fall under. It may be true, that'd you rank over 75% of hearthstone players.
Wow, Chikau, could you be a little more encouraging to this guy who just got a new achievement.... and calling all low-level players "pussies"?!?! no need to make forum posts toxic.
Rank 15 is a nice achievement, especially if you hit it for the first time. Congrats! The statistic you mentioned probably isn't true, since no one knows if it takes into account in-active accounts (which it would seem to). Hopefully you get some nice golden cards in your chest at the end of the month.
Ultimately, most players strive for rank 5 as that is where the rewards get significantly better (a golden epic). But if you hit rank 15 this month, try for rank 10 next month and rank 5 the following. That is what I did after a few months in the game. It is a good sense of achievement, and it is definitely possible in today's meta (since there are some cheap decks that are pretty strong).
What deck did you use to get there?

Quit complaining and just have fun with this game!
Congratulations! That really is great! Actually if you mouse over the rank in the quest log it should show you what percentage you are in. And don't listen to Chikau, he has never made it past rank 20. And his real life sucks even worse.

Ahahah how is reaching rank 15 any great? any brainless fool could reach rank 5 with a shitty cheap zoolock or hunter deck. Please. Don't lie to the poor kid.
Ok fine.....it's true, if you don't get legend on day one of each season you should uninstall the game. That means even if you reach legend any other day of the season besides day one, you are embarrassingly horrible.
No one said that. All I said is anyone can easily reach rank 5 playing cancerous aggressive decks.
Nonsense. Ranked ladder is a crazy place that's hard to navigate if you don't know what you're doing. At any point you can reach a spot in ladder where everyone at your rank has a deck geared to absolutely demolish what you have. It's why you can't just use one deck to climb, or else you're going to be spending a LOT of time grinding and hoping to get the winstreak needed to get over that hump. I've had to deal with numerous times where I was just cruising through the ranks with one deck until i hit a spot where the meta shifted and suddenly my deck was utter garbage against all the people i was facing. That's why ranked can be difficult because it calls for the skills needed to use different kinds of decks but also the card collection required to construct those decks. The highest I ever reached in ranked was 8 and that was months ago, now my best is 12, because i don't have much time to grind it out, so i have to try and be good with multiple decks so i can get past those speed bumps quickly when i meet them.
Congrats on rank 15 :) In my experience, rank 15 is quite a decent place. You'll meet a bunch of "real" archetype decks, so it's a good way to practice against some high level decks, where both you and the opponent will make some errors now and then, and learn how to truly capitalize on the current board presence and mistakes. Needless to say, you'll meet better players and way less mistakes from 15 and up.
* Oh, this is what happens when you read the title, and not the subject that much. My bad :D

Depending on the time you can commit, rank 15 can be a decent goal. I don't have much time to play and I don't want to play the flavor-of-the-month deck all the time, so I just try for 15 and afterwards I play whatever deck I want. It's a decent amount of dust for little work and there's no pressure to reach rank 5 which is simply too time-consuming for me.
The majority of people that say you suck for only reaching rank 15 aren't better than you, they just have more time than you.

Shanking ankles since 2015.

I used Midrange Shaman and Midrange Hunter mostly (although I did also use some evolve Shaman).

Rank 15 puts you in the bottom/worst 80% of players.
Victory or Death!
Wow
Well, you COULD be a pessimist, or maybe, I don't know, try to be a decent human being and not put people down for playing a video game?
Victory or Death!

Well, maybe he's new to the game, you never know.
So edgy, much troll, must be top tier legend, wow

Why are you even replying to this thread, all you wanna do is spew some vile in a thread and talk down to people.
