I got really lucky on my specials, getting Horn of Cenarius with TWO Y’Saarj and a whole cast of other big, beefy minions. I tore through every level of this until I got to Mothergloop. This fight might be totally unwinnable at that level (level 7+).
Mothergloop’s hero power gives +1/+1 to all minions in hand. Well, on turn 6 I finally got my Horn and pulled DOUBLE Y’Saarj and Arch-Thief Rafaam. At the end of my turn, my board was 7 wide with 50+ damage on the board. Immediately, she starts pooping out 13/13 oozes that replicate themselves, a trio of 9/9 Doppelgangsters, two pairs of 7/8 Saronite Chain Gangs as if mana wasn’t even a thing. She utterly destroyed my entire board, and me, in two turns.
I have no idea how the hell thats even possible. I’m still dumbfounded. Anyone else experience this??
I had a really easy walkthrough with cape of invisibility (permastealth for my minions). Just beat the shit out of her, before she could even summon more than 2 minions - and she didnt had any taunts in my game ;)
If you take perma stealth, you usually dont pick taunt cards and you try to go face most of the time, but yes taunt dont work, same as some secrets that work with your minions.
I wonder why u all pick stealth, i picked it once and lost bc enemy only goes face too:P
The point is that it allows you to throw strong bodies on the board that are unlikely to be killed so that you can go face as well. Just completed paladin by keeping a Grimestreet Enforcer and Emperor Thaurissan on the board for 8 turns on Azari, buffing a hand including 7 minions.
It also effectively negates several boss abilities because they can't target your minions. It is especially strong against that stupid kobold that copies the strongest minion. Can't copy a minion in stealth!
I also think the stealth screws with the AI, because on the aforementioned Azari kill the boss didn't play DOOM! or Twisting Nether, both of which I know are in that deck somewhere.
I just beat the mothergloop as a silver hand paladin. I have been trying to upload pictures, but keep getting the message “an unknown error occurred”. Be that as it may, rush is not the only important part. If left to her own devices, she will always rush more effectively than you can. The following can be done to prevent that from happening:
1. The mothergloop loves to play a large pack of rats. Make sure that you trigger its Deathrattle, thus filling her board wit junk!
2. choose the double health reward before you play her. Otherwise she may yet outpace you.
3.chose a powerful Deathrattle minion before you play her. In my case it was wax rager. At a very late point in the game she will start removing your minions. This will save you.
Specifically as Paladin the following worked for me:
1. Choose the passive power that allows battlecries to trigger again
Mothergloop is a nightmare. Some times you luck out, though - especially if you can ping.
The Mothergloop has two Shroomsayers in their deck. If you ping them, you can reset the board. But you need luck for it to play at the right moment, etc.
Another possibility, as has already been stated, is, to rush it down. Though if you have no perma stealth, most of the times the Mothergloop would trade - and the longer the game, the harder it becomes.
Beat it on the first try with Animated Armor + Stealth. Doesn't matter how many buffs they have when you only take 1 damage from them and it has no AoE to remove the armor
The first time I got pretty lucky as mothergloop had lethal but decided to trade my board and I won next turn. The second time I won by having stealth and living the 1/1s from Rat Pack damage my face each turn so that mothergloop wont play minions from hand.
First, apologies for necroing this thread. But I got through Mothergloop rather easily-ish. And I believe it's a strat that can be used by any class, unlike killing Ixlid with his own poison (restricted to mind controlling classes like priest).
Basically I killed a 6/6 Rat Pack and endured the resulting 13 damage punishment each round, since he had a pair of 4/5 Oozes. From the moment I burned the pack, she didn't drop a single mob again. She even went on to discard cards upon drawing.
By the way, I was playing a Last Rites (ish) Priest with Cloak of Invisibility.
It was not a breeze though, and I had to plan the subsequent rounds. Like droping Baron Rivendare in spite of his low attack; that way Shallow Gravedigger hastened the completion of Awaken the Makers.
By the time I completed AtM (with 2 health left), the fight basically ended in two rounds.
Other classes might be able to play such a strategy. Or maybe I was just effin-lucky.
Yes it is a tough boss. If you don't pull a card that allows you very strong minions to come out early, or gloves of mugging to limit the +1s every round, it is impossible to beat.
PermaStealth only works with high damage minions early.
It is just like a lot of these runs, pure luck of the draw.

I beet her first try, I had a rogue deck with questing adventurer and had permanent stealth. I then beat king togwaggle.
I got my ass handed to me on the eighth boss as well. With the draw I had, there was zero chance of winning. Kind of annoying, but what can you do.
I beat this boss with mage + perma stealth + tons of freeze, while I dmg him with huge mana wyrm from first round.
Perma stealth is OP
Go face?

The only way I've been able to beat this boss so far is with an aggro rush silver hand deck.

2. Utilise battlecries such as quartermaster
If you get lucky Gloop will play that minion that kills the board if it survives damage. You can then ping it and win.
It's really one that boils down to dumb luck.
Smorced him with hunter +1/+1, double battlecry, max cost 5,...
Quite easy, you need a bit of luck
Mill rogue beats him quite handily, as well as rush decks. Problem is that rush decks tend to fair poorly on the end bosses.
