His hero power is a 0-mana: destroy 2 cards in your opponent's deck. That is absolutely insanity. I had this really cool spell power priest with Lyra and Velen, etc with a whole lot of stalling spells and I got absolutely destroyed because I was into fatigue before turn 15! This is crazy overpowered and they need to nerf him.
Azari was the final boss for my first (and so far only) Dungeon Run and I ended up winning so it's not totally impossible. I was lucky enough to draw my key cards though, and I also had pretty damn incredible deck so I'm probably not the right person to evaluate how hard the fight actually is.
I am confused just because something is hard it is considered impossible now? I fought the darkness and figured out the second time around that he will come because of a boss (Darkheart?) giving me a vague warning... I got cloak of shadows and his entire deck is single target removal so gg =D Pirate warrior op
It's not impossible. In fact, in my first try Hunter run I beat him quite easily. It was a face hunter deck with some high-end Deathrattle minions. I attached some pics. Around turn 9-10 you will be out of cards so you have to finish him quickly, the hero power upgrade card for Hunter wins this game on its own.
He is not entirely impossible, but you need to be fast. I defeated him in my first run with Hunter. He milled my deck quickly, but I was able to rush him down before I die of fatigue. I use Hunter DK to create a huge Angry Chicken LOL.
I got jade druid and ez clearled 1-7 and against him i even got all 3 of my jade idols, but since he burns 2 and you shuffle 3, you always had to use the last one to shuffle and avoid fatigue. eventually he just answered everything else and i couldnt summon anymore jades. was some bullshit.

Hi i'm Tyler and I play hearthstone and watch anime.
Sometimes i make cards. I'd like to do that for a career one day if ever possible.
I had a slow start because he had a massive early board of demons (him getting that 3/8 taunt demon from Doom was harsh) but I had an unbelievably broken jade deck (7 swarmers, 2 shurikens, 4 Jade Spirits, 2 Ayas) so even while losing most of it I could still out tempo.
(As an extra note, I was tempted to use the Bag of Stuffing for tempo, but I had no idea if his ability would keeping going in exhaust. Im assuming it wouldn't but couldn't be sure. Also the bag says it wont stop drawing til your hand is full, and I didn't have enough cards in deck to fill my hand so worried it might bug out and infinitely draw.)
here's the problem, when you're losing about two thirds of your deck, you probably are just losing any win conditions you have to the hero power. Then any that do manage to sneak their way into your hand just get destroyed by the absolutely insane amounts of removal they gave him. In my run I counted 4 Siphon Soul 2 DOOM! 1 Twisting Nether plus all his demons where half of them are removal themselves.
Devourer will only work with really aggressive decks. It's not impossible; you just need to build the right kind of deck. My Jade Rogue with double-battlecries and starting with two mana crystals basically shut Azari down, but if I had opted for another archetype, I'd have lost. You can't predict it... which is fine, because it's a roguelike dungeon run. It's fine to have an incredible and thrilling challenge like that.

He do have one pshyic scream in his deck - won by fatiguing him with a pirate, control + Wish deck - wish is amazing - full heal, full board of legendaries
Honestly, what upsets me about this boss most is the entire concept of Dungeon Run seems to be giving players really cool cards and having them use these cards in clever ways. Then Azari comes along and just rips out two thirds of your deck, which, chances are, contains those cool cards. Especially because you get a treasure right before the boss round. It sucks so much to see a cool card, be excited to play it, only for it to be obliterated from the match before you have a chance.
Just beat Azari, and it was my first time getting to a final boss period. I've taken a fair number of unsuccessful runs too so I'm not some amazing superplayer. I had a Paladin deck reliant on Silver Hand synergy. It just sounds like your deck was just bad for that fight, OP.

The Darkness has two Psychic Scream and two Twisting Nether

Just means your deck was to slow and greedy
Destroyed him with my mage DK, pinging his steed every turn

I got the item that steals 3 cards from your opponents hand and beat him pretty easily with hunter

I managed a win with 3 cards remaining in deck.

Good to hear about success and strategy rather than "Impossible and boo-hoo NERF it!" like the OP.
Azari ate my lunch because I got greedy. I am loving this play mode. Be GONE all you pussies crying IMPOSSIBLE and for nerfs on zero hour, FFS.
I enjoy.

i win Azari with Priest.
MVP were:
treasure which gives permanent stealth.
treasure which adapt your minion as many times, as many bosses defeated.

Best treasure for me was the 5/1 wax minion
coupled with double deathrattle.
The Darkness has two Psychic Scream and two Twisting Nether
