Im actually pretty surprised & amazed about the changes they are about to do for duels next week. Its the only mode i play lately and i love it. Some treasures were just to much game defining and could make you win a game in 4 turns even when you had already a progression of 10 wins.
I checked one change after another and they all go somehow in the right direction to make the game less "explosive".
I don't know which changes you are talking about but i'm guessing some pve stuff which i couldn't care less given how boring and extremly easy it is. Everything can be completed by only using 1/100 of the capacity of a human brain.
0 change in pvp, the only interesting part of the game : blink fox's bug not fixed, Diablo-Cairne's supremacy not adressed so no there's not much happening.
Should i add that they said before the patch note they were going to communicate on Mercenaries but reading the patch note i don't see ANYTHING about the main issues everyone has been talking about : - Why are they making the grind even harder and locking the pvp to an absurb amount of time spent to repeat the same alienating actions ? - Why are they considering their faithful players as walking wallets, with totally shameful offers in the shop ? - Where is the "engaging gameplay" ? - Why are they nerfing the stranger's rate apparition after some amount of time spent grinding (lof of strangers when you log on then suddenly the more you grind the more potatoes !). Are shady hotfixes what a respectable company would do ?

He's talking about Duels not mercenaries you fing idiot.
Anyways, I don't see much changing in Duels. Sure, the nerfs are fixing some of the broken passives to stop massive turn 1-3 mana cheats, but one of the major problems and that's mass discover is still ingame. Plus the whole shadow word void is still untouched and uncounterable for many classes.

My bad, didn't read.
By the way, try to call me a fucking idiot irl you piece of shit, we're going to laugh a good time.
Dude read the post before opening your mouth. He talking about DUELS not mercenaries lol. I swear I can’t get rid of the dumb in this game if it’s in forums or in game math and reading must be REALLY had for people .

Looking forward for next week. What do you think?
I've played just a few games of duels till now, maybe it's time to explore this game mode a bit more.
Overall I'm excited about the changes, a bit worried about Diablo's power level and disappointed Priest wasn't nerfed at all. But overall I'm looking forward to the 3rd.
I agree with you, the changes look very reasonable, and I'm happy to see Duels finally get some attention. Making most of the passive treasures a little less powerful is a good decision for the mode.
It's also nice with a new hero as well, even if it is for a limited time. I would have liked to see some more updates to the existing heroes though - maybe add some new treasures or rotate an old hero power out - because the meta has become somewhat stale.
I'm still interested in duels as a side mode for me. It checks all the boxes for weirdness in HS that normal constructed doesn't, so it's nice to dip in and out of. These changes look like they will make the game mode less explosive and that's a good thing.
I am a bit concerned about Diablo, though. I could definitely see some warlock questline shenanigans going on here. The 3 mana hero power that basically gives you 3 ticks of progression for free, and then you can swing into a minion that also progresses the quest (because it's still self damage on your turn)... then after the quest is done, that's just free damage to the opponent with armour gain and again, hero attacking into minions for free with the recoil damage being redirected back to the opponent.
Stuff that warlock can normally not do is going to be possible. Maybe I'm thinking too much and it won't be that bad, but... you see where I'm getting at with this, right?
I got the chance to pick Diablo when I had to do the Event Quest. He;s fucking hilarious. His weapon choice treasure is broken though. It does not draw on game start and it also does not damage adjacent minions.
Still went to a quick 3-0 though with a Quest Warlock deck, with Shield Block added from Warrior (since I figured Card Draw might be lacking and health might be a problem).
Going to finish the run at some other time, but I had fun playing him.

I wanted to delete my post but apparently the technology is not here.

They removed that option a long time ago, probably for some good reason.

I am happy to see that the mode is not dead. Perhaps we'll get hero and\or set rotation someday.

I'm so sick of facing diablo with warlock quest.
I wish they would ban all the quests in Duels. But, the Diablo/Warlock quest is just so much misery.
Hear my prayers Yogg. No more quests in duels. Oh and nerf that stupid locusts card from hitting face, that's also bs.
Praise Yogg.
