The coin is fine, but it shouldn’t be considered a spell. This is a change that should’ve been made years ago.

     Exactly.

    I don't know for a fact...

But of course they will, so the rest of us don't have to test which decks work and which dont for ourself (/sarcasm end).

I'm so sick of facing diablo with warlock quest.

I wish they would ban all the quests in Duels.  But, the Diablo/Warlock quest is just so much misery.

Hear my prayers Yogg.  No more quests in duels.  Oh and nerf that stupid locusts card from hitting face, that's also bs.

    Praise Yogg.

     I agree

I ain't that bothered, but its strange that the packs are there to begin with. First time I have seen a pack reward among packs before it was earned.

If we put on our tinfoil hat we might think, that it is to make us play mercenaries, but then again its hard to get the reward and remove the packs, when you have cancelled the mission to get them...

It's easy. Make standard/wild/battlegrounds etc. even less appealing so people don't have any other choice.

I rather quit and focus more on MTG and Diablo 2 resurrected, than start playing a new game, that wants to find ways to get my $$.

posted a message on We need a non-static a format alternative to wild

I have a complete collection. If I decided that Wild is not for me anymore and dusted all but standard cards, then I guess I would have dust to play standard for years when combined with buying packs with gold.

If I did not dust it, because I wanted to keep the cards for a format like this, then I would continue to buy packs at every release = profit.

I don't care that much about netdecking personally, I just want to play old metas.

Maybe you don't care, but I've read plenty of threads about would be "Meta Breaker" builders crying about all the people copy pasting their decks.

If they go with it, then the metas are pretty much established, unless they decide to combine the expansions in a new way. So it should not be a big issue.

    I am not a programmer.

I imagine it would not take much more than a new brawl to set this up and also a change to the interface (where we pick format).

And there is a potential revenue for Blizzard. People crafting cards to play the format, perhaps even buying old packs (I know that is not that likely). People buying new packs instead of dusting old cards, that they rather save for this format.

I think a format like this will fare better than Classic.

Well, the risk for going off topic was real. To me it is semantics if it takes away resources or if it is resources, that could have been used on the core instead. It could be good business to add content for the loyal players, who kept their collection instead of dusting it.

    Back on topic.

A rotating format with cards from non-standard expansion would make it more tempting to keep old cards instead of dusting them, because wild is not that fun anymore in my opinion

And with the risk of this going off topic, I like to add that this is why I ain't too fond of mercenaries, because it takes development away from the core game or original game, if you like that title for it more.

Did Blizzard announced it that they are taking away development from original hearthstone to make/expand mercenaries mode?

No, but it is logic to me at least, that those working on mercenaries could be working on adding more content to the core game instead

Its very likely that they hired new people to do the mercenaries stuff, if they wanted to introduce new content in the game (which they already do of course) there is zero obstacles for them to do so.

I don't want to speculate on if they hired or not. The point stands that the people working on mercenaries could be working on the core game and game modes, if Blizzard had chosen it.

The point doesn't stand at all. They have means to hire as much workforce as they want, if something is not being done or developed its because they choose so not because they are not able. If they wanted to work more on the core game and game modes they would, instead they are working on mercenaries because clearly they see a lot more potential($$$) in that mode than in creating MORE new content for core game and game modes.

Sorry, but are you saying that they could not work on the core instead?

But you are right about the $$. Blizzard looks at what is most profitable and I agree, that mercenaries are most likely that. Making content for cards people already own or are not likely to buy (again) is not profitable.

Wild is a format that allows you to still play with the cards you own, that is no longer part of standard. The problem with wild, in my opinion, is that it contains too many cards by now and crazy interactions, which makes it less fun than it was 3-4 years ago. I feel that Blizzard could allocate some resources to make a better and rotation format, so we could use our old cards in a fun way.
