He's probably considered a murloc for BG purposes. Since they don't include tribe-specific heroes (Jaraxxus, Flurgl) when their tribe is omitted from a match, I would imagine the other side of that coin is that they don't omit a critical buffing minion for that tribe when it is included, even if the tribe of the buffer isn't.
It has a "beast" tribe tag and if it was considered a Murloc it would have Murloc synergy which it doesnt. So i dont think thats the case. Seems like a bug to me.

He just means its included in the murloc 'bucket' for tribe exclusion/inclusion purposes.
This is pretty intuitive.
The real question is what happens with zoobot and other cards like that.
I've only played one game since the update, and I didn't even pay attention to which tribe was omitted from the pool ... but I hope that Menagerie cards would always be included, because their battlecry will always be at least 66% efficient.

Yeah me too. Zoobot is almost never used as a mech, so that would really suck if BOTH menagerie and mech comps were dead whenever the mech tribe is omitted

You read what I said and still you think it’s a bug? This is so specific that it’s 99% not a bug. If there is a very logical reason for something to happen, I tend to rule out bug and just give Team 5 the benefit of the doubt...

On what planet does Megasaur not have Murloc synergy?

I played a game with Mechs excluded and Zoobot was still in there.
I just played lobby where Beasts were excluded yet a guy rolled a Megasaur? Is this a bug or am i missing something here?

Megasaur is in the murloc bucket, like soul juggler is for demons and pack leader for beasts.

The devs stated that Megasaur is in the murloc bucket. Stop whinging now.
