The real reason behind the frost festival and the so called 1 Free arena win is to make people waste their gold on it so that people can buy packs when the new expansion is released. Same as the heroic brawls in the last 2 expansions.
Yea i'm totally loosing all of my nearly 5000g gold with my consistent 7+ wins xD The meaning of the frost festival is to make arena fun again because the amount of new people are easy to defeat.
I imagine you're the sort of person that would complain if Blizzard gave out 10 free packs.
'God damn, didn't get any legendaries, these cards are fixed why didn't they give me 15 packs.'
They aren't forcing you to do anything. If you're decent at arena you'll get those 7+ wins and it's not difficult to take paladin, mage and rogue to 10+. You get one free arena a week. First week I got 12 wins with a rogue and last week I got 6 with a priest, I also did a non-free one and got 10 wins with a shaman. I wouldn't call myself a good arena player at all, but seriously, you can't complain about this, it is generous. I haven't spent any real money for ages on Hearthstone, I have almost 10k gold waiting to buy me packs. Seriously just play the game right and you'll have no complaints, heck I probably don't even do it optimally.

Not everyone here is a 15 years old kid who is living with his mommy and daddy and doing nothing but to farm gold every day. There are also casual adults who are working hard every day to make a living and barely have time for leisure.
If you wanna critisize do it nicely and don't judge other people.

Hold on a second. He only said that you're the type of guy that would complain at other kind of free stuff, which is arguably true, and that you might not be playing the game right, but it's kind of implicit. That's all. Where's the offensive judging part in that?
While you're calling him out for "judging" you, you're being obnoxious and assume people who are good at the game or spend a lot of time on it are "15 year old kids living with mommy and daddy", while putting others, probably yourself included, on a pedestal because they "work hard everyday to make a living and have barely any time for leisure". I wouldn't say moonsorrow is actually the judgemental one here.
Oh and by the way, free stuff is free stuff. There is no condition to get that free stuff, nothing that would tie to the game or annoyingly incentivize the consumer to pay after that, so this is actual free stuff. If it drives some players to play arena, good for everyone. If it doesn't, doesn't matter. No one forces you to spend gold on arena. And actually, if you know what you're doing, playing arena is profitable. So, yeah, completely pointless thread.

Actually I play the game for about 2 hours in the day. You've asked me not to criticise people yet you've belittled my apparent lifestyle. Actually, I just do the quests each day which can all be done with minimal effort. It's not like anything I've done points to the fact I played HS non stop all-day every day, I'm 25 with a very good career, work very hard and still find a couple of hours maximum during a day to play a bit of HS.
Maybe I'd be a little more respectful if people didn't outright criticise for the slightest things, even generosity.

You aren't forced to, and the Arena will give you Un'Goro packs if you've not filled out your collection. Yes, it's a bit like the Heroic Tavern Brawl in which it pulls gold from players, but it also, as others said, promotes Arena. If you play your free games and had fun, you have the choice of playing a few more.
The Frost Festival did give two free arena tickets to go with the extra wins; that's AT THE VERY LEAST two free Un'Goro packs, and probably enough gold to buy a couple more packs down the road.
I, at this point, would rather craft the handful of Un'Goro cards I need for specific decks and save gold to buy a massive stack of packs for the new expansion, but I have a short attention span and love things that are shiny and new. YMMV.
This post is so laughable. You don't have to keep playing arena dummy. You can take your free ticket, do your run and go back to constructed. That's like a casino giving you $100 voucher for slots and you spend $1,000 and say it's their fault. Seems like a user error problem to me, I've kept all my gold.
Since I'm not a (good) Arena player, I just take the free ride each week, get a two packs (remember, you also get a KotFT pack, if you don't retire right of the bat) and anything on top as long as I can ride the run.
Seems a fair deal to me. If you want to play more, go for it, but don't complain, it's up to you to bet your gold for more gains.
No one is forcing you to play arena, it is your decision. I dont like arena. Arena is pretty much crappy rng fest where most of the time wins whoever draws a better deck. You can easily meet opponents with lots of wins, who misplay like mad. That said free arena once a week is a simple profit.

I believe your thoughts are shortsighted at best, and an attempt at "justified outrage" at worst.
You've missed the point, the entire point of their attempts at making the game more accessible to F2P accounts. You've overlooked the timing of these events and their poetic nature as a whole. With the coming change that is Winter comes the rapid change of the Festivals that have taken place, and with this cold comes a deep change within the nine playable heroes. There are many thematic game elements you choose to overlook in order to produce illegitimate annoyance with the Devs, the same Devs that are giving you free things. Arena costs 150 gold to get in. You were gifted three free runs in the arena. For little more than a week (give or take) all of your daily quests were doubled in size. You've been gifted packs as well, just for being part of the celebration. These same Devs, who work hard to maybe convince you to spend money on their hard work haven't bitched once, while you sit atop your lofty throne, bitching all the while.
This game is not for you. This community is not for you.
You are a blight on the towering entity that is Blizzard, and your lack of appreciation should see you and your ungrateful, cretinous kind humiliated for all to see.
Unlike heroic brawl, which replaces the usual free pack, the arena incentives are 100% extra. There is zero downside to the free arena run, zero downside to choosing not to play arena, and pure upside with an extra win if you were planning to play arena anyhow.
