I'd like to try this deck but don't have Black Knight or Tinkmaster....seems like this deck would suffer quite a bit without the direct taunt removals they provide.
Maybe a couple deadly shots...but the fact that they are random and provide no board presence...it just wouldn't cut it. The only feasible replacement I could imagine would be two spellbreakers.
Both Deadly Shot and Spellbreakers can work in this deck I believe. The reason they both work is the immense board clear the deck holds without tink and black knight. Most of the time when you need to use black knight to clear a heavy taunter off the board its a solo minion being placed to avoid all the face dmg from eaglehorn bow/hero power. Tink is also used as a cheap taunt removal late game in most cases to combo with leeroy for that sudden burst damage so a spell breaker or even a ironbeak owl for the cheap silence can work.
I built a version of this deck with only having leeroy as the legendary, I'm testing it now to see what the results are. If they are solid I'll post the decklist on here.
That's correct I only use leeroy for fatal damage. Not always is he on the last turn but say the opponenet has 13 health and no taunts and I have leeroy and a weapon up, I'll use leeroy for 6 dmg weapon for 3 dmg and hero power for 2 leaving him at 2 hp. If I know this is a class that can't heal he has 2 hp the next turn I can just use my hero power again and he's dead. Thats the only other time I will use leeroy outside of a fatal damage turn.
Basically what I'm saying is I don't use leeroy as cannon fodder and let him die. He's to valueable as a late game finisher than to use him early and lose the option of my finishing combo.
Abomination does not cause a side effect to your cards on the table? how do you handle it? Wild Pyromancer too I'm a little confused and insecure with these cards, I'm thinking of making a deck based on yours
Abomination is used as my turn 5 choice against most aggro decks to force them to attack a minion and clear the board. Yes sometimes my minions die, but in this deck most of the minions even if they die, they've already attacked or done their job in card draw.
Lastly Wild Pyromancer, he is used with hunters mark to get rid of any big time drop your opponent drops just like Tinkmaster Overspark, and also has a chance if played right to kill off a few of their other minions.
Neither Abomination or Wild Pyromancer are a liability in this deck because most of your damage comes from your weapons and hero power.
The whole point is to have total control of the board regardless of what your opponent plays. That's why these cards are so key to the deck.
hmmm, I am now beginning to understand, it seems that you have a pretty solid deck, looking deeper, one of the best decks I've ever seen for hunter, even not using the key cards of hunter, I'm learning a lot from you, thx.
if it is not too boring for you, could you give me some more tips and explanations? XD
Gladiator's Longbow you only use to attack minions or hero too? you keep it on you hand for when you do not have a way to destroy some minion? and when you have it already on your hand but has no minion on enemy table, you use it to attack the hero or save it for later?
How does my deck have an resemblance to a deck that runs almost 100% charge cards?
My deck is built on controlling the board and that deck is a rush deck. This deck has no rush about it. Some might call it a slow rolling deck due to the nature of its play style.
it just feels so counter-intuiitive when I play it, it fails to deck with high drops if you don't play deadly shot and I've lost to the majority of druids as well as mages/paladin for this reason.
Here is my current deck list. I swapped out Bloodmage Thalnos for Deadly Shot. I wasn't getting enough results out of Thalnos and with having a really strong grasp on board control my opponent is typically forced into playing a big drop solo. When that happens I answer with deadly shot or Pyromancer/Hunter's Mark to null its use.

Interesting, I'll give it a try with a couple Spellbreakers.

Liking this thread. Good discussion. I'm making my first-ever hunter deck as a result.
Leeroy Jenkins is not a problem?
edit:
you only use Leeroy in the last round to finish? is it?

Tinkmaster Overspark is used to get rid of things like Sylvanas Windrunner,Ragnaros the Firelord,Tirion Fordring, and anything else that has alot of hp with an effect or taunt like molten giants/mountain giants with taunt.
Abomination is used as my turn 5 choice against most aggro decks to force them to attack a minion and clear the board. Yes sometimes my minions die, but in this deck most of the minions even if they die, they've already attacked or done their job in card draw.

With 13 2-Drops and Thalnos being kind of underutilized in this deck, i think maybe a Sylvanas instead might be something to try out
I've actually been testing a 2nd Argent Commander and Sylvannas. Just not posting any updates to the deck until I find what is best in it.
If you feel like talking card choices you can add me ign (Tormier) I like the idea of the deck and might build something simular for a event.
looks like arkcruisers deck with a bunch of legendaries shoved in. not bad tho, good way to inspire but it's pretty obvious

Are you not saving your Pyro Hunters mark for big drops?
Idk if a deck with no Beasts gets to be called a Hunter deck anymore. ^ ^ Beasts gotta represent!
It's still a hunter deck, I mean sure no beasts, but it does showcase the traps and weapons very well.
