I just got an Arcane Golem, and I plugged it into my Face Hunter deck, but I don't know if I'm playing it right. It seems like whenever I do, while I connect for 4 damage, I wind up screwing myself by enabling my opponent to stabilize with the extra mana. For the most part, I often play it on turn 3 or 4. Is this really when I should be playing it? Or should Arcane Golem be more of a closer or late-game play? For reference, here's my current deck:
It's more of a closer or late game play. Turn 3 is too early since its like giving your opponent a free coin each turn afterwards, which is huge for them. I always mulligan it if get it in my opening hand.
Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I think I was being so over-zealous in my efforts to smash face that I was putting an Arcane Golem in before other cards, like Wolfrider or Eaglehorn Bow, on turn 3. I played a handful of games yesterday and held the golem back until at least turn 5, even though it felt weird to hold it back on what I was perceiving as potential damage it could do. I was much happier with the results dropping him late-game to either smash face for lethal or to help clear a pesky taunt minion. I still keep feeling like I should get him out earlier, just because I feel like it's 2 health could potentially survive a turn in the early game and thus allow for 8 damage to come out of playing it. I think it's become clear though that giving the opponent that early mana ramp just isn't worth it.

Play it turn 5 at earliest, combined with your hero power.
The later in the game you are, the less it matters that you're giving your opponent extra mana.
Feel free to add me if you play on NA! iMPose#1429
