1. Introduction:

This deck is build around two very powerful new hunter concepts which synergies very well: Lesser Emerald Spellstone on turn 5 and Kathrena Winterwisp on turn 8. The Spellstone will secure the midgame board control and Kathrena recruting Savannah Highmane or Swamp King Dred will secure the victory. The spellstone also helps to cut many early, so that Kathrena hits reliably.

Stitched Tracker and Tracking is used to consistently pull Kathrina. You usually want to play those cards between turn 5-7. By then you will have drawn some of you minions and Stitched Tracker will hit Kathina in >60% of times.

2. Mulligan:

Always keep Dire Mole and Crackling Razormaw. They help a lot in the early game and you want to get them out of your deck for Kathrena hits the big guys.

Keep one Lesser Emerald Spellstone unless you know for sure that you are up vs. a Face/Aggro deck. [That means I always keep the Spellstone at the moment]. The spellstone at 5 is such a big swing turn and will pull you ahead even if you are greatly behind. It also requires some time in your hand to gain its full power.

Mulligan everything else. You really want that Spellstone and/or some of your early game minions.

3. Replacements

Dire Mole:  Alleycat, if you want to keep up the early game beast theme. Fire Fly or Secretkeeper, if you want to bet on a more greedy Kathrena pull.

Wandering Monster: Second Unleash the Hounds, Deadly Shot or another secret.

Unleash the Hounds: Second Wandering Monster  or Deadly Shot

Kathrena and/or Lesser Emerald Spellstone: No replacement, they are deck defining. However you can use my list of Core Midrange Hunter Cards in KaC to build your own midrange/secret Hunter deck without those cards.

4. Questions and Card choices

Why running Crackling Razormaw or even Dire Mole in a Kathrena deck?

Early game is really important for a Midrange Hunter. You could try to remove those and go for all-in big Hunter. However a classic midrange hunter build is favorable compared to big hunter.

Also keep in mind that you don't need to hit big in order to make Kathrena great. Getting two 2/3 beasts and a 6/6 body for 8 mana is already good value. Don't underestimate the card-draw effect Kathrena provides.
