MULLIGAN
WITHOUT COIN--GOING FIRST
-You need to get 1-drops, search for them. Keep everytime Kindly Grandmother . Keep Scavenging Hyena or Crackling Razormaw if you already have a 1-drop at mulligan.
WITH COIN--GOING SECOND
-You need to get 1-drops as always, but in this case hold on 2-drops too. If you have a 1-drop already, you can easily hold Eaglehorn Bow or Animal Companion so that you can coin them at turn 2. This is more complicated and has to do about what matchup do you face. I would keep them surely versus Priest-Shaman-Hunter, because they need to get board ealy and these cards are high value cards for the mana payment.
SOME COMBOES-TIPS
If you have plenty of 1-drops to start, don't play Jeweled Macaw . Choose something else, cause Jeweled can be useful later on with the card it gives and can fill a turn where you would just hero power, plus it is the most weak statwise.
Alleycat can work pretty good with Nesting Roc on turn 6.
If you got a good early hand already, like 1-drop and 2-drop, and you face warrior, mind keeping Savannah Highmane because most people play taunt warrior with the new quest and Savannah is the ultimate win condition in that matchup.
nesting roc too much value, im just trying to climb to rank 5 with pirate but no more taunts
I dont like it for many reasons. It s pretty frustrating to play this 2 times because the second one is dead. Playing it with one copy, doesnt give you any power in the deck cause there are low chance that u ll get it early on, late game you would never switch hunters hero power it s just too good. In the end i think this card is garbage and doesnt fit in any hunter deck right now.
Just got from 20 to 14, this deck is awesome
One the best and cheapest decks Love it!
Really love this deck. Very cheap and effective
This is a very effective deck, but was made even better for me when I made a few changes. -2 Hunter's Mark +2 Deadly Shot and -1 Fiery Bat -1 Nesting Roc + 2 Golakka Crawler.
Golakka Crawler significantly increased my odds vs Pirate Warrior and Quest Rogue. Even more than having a second Nesting Roc. Cutting one Fiery Bat made sense for me because I feel like 5 1-drops is sufficient.
IMO, Deadly Shot is strictly better than Hunter's Mark as it allows you to take down high value threats without having to trade in a minion (even if its a token). This helps immensely vs Quest Warrior because of their many high health taunts and is great vs taunt + divine shield cards like Tirion Fordring, Tol'vir Stoneshaper, etc.
Just two cents from a non-legend player :-)
Solid deck changes -- I tried the deck version you suggested, but kept hunter's mark. You might be right that Deadly Shot is better because I had difficulty capitalising on Hunter's Mark ... still, won more than lost (playing down around lvl 17).
I also switched the 2 Hunter's Mark for 2 Deadly Shot and I've had a lot of success! +1
Whoa, 12 up votes! I've never received so many :-)
I didn't keep track of win rates but this deck took me from 17-5 within a few days of playing. I'm at rank 4 now but that happened when I switched to Pirate Warrior to avoid completing a crap 40g quest. I'm confident I would have been able to make it to 4 with this deck (including the changes I made).
@ KaosMonkey Deadly Shot's ability to take out minions with divine shield and poisonous without having to trade into them is valuable. This means more threats on board, more targets for Crackling Razormaw and Houndmaster, as well as more buffable minions for Leokk.
I main tempo mage and warlock, however for the first time I finally reached rank 10 with this deck and HappyHobbit's changes to it (from rank 18) and am still climbing. Deadly shot seems more proactive than Hunter's Mark in my experience (take it for what its worth I guess). Two Nesting Roc was a bit bulky and I even had trouble sometimes getting one out with the taunt. Golakka Crawler's buff worked a few times being that there were so many quest rogues when I was climbing, and I smashed a pirate warrior out of the game by turn 7. Freeze mage and Taunt warrior were my most difficult matches followed by a couple priests.
So I posted on this thread 3 days ago, when I had reached rank 9. After that post I played a lot and went on a 10 game losing streak. Great.
Back at rank 10 (thank you blizzard for capping it at 10...) I made it back into 9, full stars and then ofcourse I lost 3 in a row. The RNG of this rame comes out more and more honestly.
I can honestly say I 50% of the time I beat any pirate worrior or quest worrior, depending on their/mine hand. All about luck. But I feel it is more if their hand sucks I win.
Rogues heavily depends on your hand, all you have to do is make sure they can not fload the board (but it is hard, I have to admit). Honestly, at the end of the day, this deck is all about luck. Unlike the braindead rogues/warriors that represent 75% of my games.
Warlock: cant lose to them at the moment, honestly I win all the time.
Priest : you never see them anymore, but I remember that silence priest did kick my ass I cant say if RNG was the winning/losing factor.
Druid: they are a pain really, countering them really depends if you manage to get control but they swamp the board so quickly. However they are very rng sensitive but if they have a good hand you basically lose.
Paladin: I have yet to win against the murloc paladins out there. They are strong but I have only fought about 3 so I do not really know how to kill these guys.
Mages: they freeze you but if you have a nice curve they stand no chance. I have not lost to them yet.
Other Hunter: all midrange hunters, i rarely see quest hunter or aggro out there. Pure rng ofcourse because they basically have the same deck. (Who ever managed to keep a buffed Hyena wins.
So at the end of the day, all about RNG. I am still stuck in rank 9 and I just can not seem to get out. I did however replace a few cards after this comment:
-1 Hunters mark / +1 Golakka Crawler (rogue and warrior have pirates, I feel this is a must)
-1 Eaglehorn Bow / +1 stempeding Kodo (Quest warrior has a lot of late game 2 attack taunts)
-1 Nesting Roc / Swamp King Dred (Adds a little more late game power and annoys the hell out of taunts. Easily countered by adapted poisen though so this is a gamble.)
I am no pro but I am trying things to get out of rank 9 ^^ I might remove a Crackling Razormaw to add another Golakka Crawler
I'll say how it went.
Look forward to hearing about your edits.
I tried this deck with your changes since the start and got from 20 to 14 on a win streakand only lost to another hunter. The stampeding kodo came in handy acouple of times, but I didn't get to see that many pirates but I'll keep the Golakka though. I didn't get many draws and/or plays with Dred, but I really like him and wan't to keep him as my deck's pet (called it Mid Dred).
Next day and a lot of games further.
I have stagnated in R9. I can't climb out of this bloody rank for some reason. But I am starting to believe that I am the most unlucky player in the game.
For exemple, I added Stampeding Kodo to the deck against taunt warrior, I keep it in starting hand with a couple of other minions. Turn 2 he plays Dirty Rat and of course take out my Kodo. This happened Twice.
I never get kill command when I need to finish someone off and so they keep survivng with 3 hp.
Paladin just heals too much and you can not kill it.
I replaced hunter's Mark with Deadly Shot. Ofcourse it always kills the 1/1 minion and not the big legendary next to it. I am thinking about switchin to taunt or pirate warrior just to play braindead and climb back up because it is getting really frustrating. Again I do not think I am a bad player, I have played and won against every matchup (not paladin) and the game is just all about luck.
If you have more success please tell me how and what.
I am playing as we speak against pirate warrior, I bet you can guess the amount of Golakka Crawler I have had.... (got 2 of them in my deck now).
i made this deck 1 .5 week ago i have not seen it in hearthpwn till now so this is the latest episode for my road to cancer meta journey hope you guyz enjoy the gameplay

Pretty hard to beat taunt warrior even with twinking card around (tried with black knight and its not enough sadly)
Best Budget Deck Ever !! Reached rank 12 easy.
Like the idea, but what would you take out?
You can easily cut 1 fiery bat for 1 rat pack, that s what i did and it works
