Why hello there. I’m backspace – I hit rank #1 on 5/31 on the last day and finished #2 last season with this aggro rogue deck (listed below) centered around coldlight oracle.
Towards the end of Season 2, I ran into a couple of aggro rogue variants on the ladder and tried to piece together a list. I noticed that their decks were very explosive, but ran out of gas quickly – or were sometimes inconsistent to get started. I wanted to optimize the list, and once I decided to build the deck around Coldlight Oracle, the deck performed absolutely amazingly for me.
Reasons to play the deck: It’s incredibly fun! The synergy with Coldlight + Shadowstep + Mukla or the explosive amount of damage you can produce with any charge minion makes for really exciting games. It also DESTROYS Miracle Rogue and Giants.
Bad matchups: Zoo – this is actually a ridiculously difficult matchup. Druid - heavy taunt based druid decks can be very tough as well, but winnable.
General strategy: In almost every matchup, you need to mulligan into early board presence (argent squire, leper gnome, loot hoarder, mukla… when you have coin, you can look for Defias Ringleader and SI:7 as well). You should NEVER mulligan coldlight oracle (but don’t keep 2). Your primary concern in most games is their life total rather than the state of the board. You will almost always end games with explosive turns featuring shadowstep with arcane golem / leeroy, or even deckhand (ha HA!) and cold blood. Pay attention to how much damage you have available in hand at all times.
I will be streaming soon (hopefully tomorrow - follow and tune in!), and of course AMA here.

#1 on 5/31 thanks for the help Caleb
I don't have Mukla, so took a Faceless Manipulator. I guess you could take two Manipulators instead of the two legs required here and look to make plays off the golems or enemy legs instead.
Thoughts on replacing Argent Squire in a meta where people are playing Blood Knight?
Would you recommend getting Leeroy first, or Mukla? I can craft 1 of them and im having a hard time winning vs hunter/mage decks. With this build (some tweeks since I dont have the 2 legendaries req) I still lose.
Also no Arcane Golem.. keeping my dust for 1/2 legendaries.
Any suggestions?
Definetly Leeroy. You can use him on almost every deck
I could be wrong but the whole thing with Mukla is those 2 bananas he gives out then say CLO shadow step CLO again he is most likely burning cards or will burn cards once you pass the turn over. That would be a example of a turn 7 enemy draws 6 cards.
Very similar to Colma's Aggro Mill idea: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/56891-rogue-aggro-mill-revisited-top-100-legend-rank
Don't you find that you need more draw? He runs the Acolyte of Pain which seems kind of slow but you can get a ton of draw out of it and throw a Cold Blood on to buff it. I like your extra aggression, though.
Also, I'm amazed you don't run Backstab -- that's probably why Zoo is such a hard matchup for the deck.

I would replace the Defias Ringleader and a Southsea Deckhand with two Backstabs. But then, I'd also replace one Arcane Golem with Bloodmage Thalnos and we're starting to have a different deck.
Hi, im farily new to the whole rogue decks in general, been maining low/mid budget warrior so far. Getting kinda boring/beaten by locks/mages.
Is it possible do build this deck w/o Mukla and Jenkins? Thats 2 of the legendaries I dont have. I do have YoloRag and Alexstraza, but thats pretty much it. Any thoughts on a deck which could be like this, but without Mulka and Jenkins? please give me a deck link if you do

Do you always place 1-mana minion on turn1 or sometimes wait for the opponent to place argent squire?
And how much minions do yoou avaregly place while waiting the first AOE on turn 3-4?
I ofter run out of cards this deck, while always keeping 1 CLO in the starting hand...
About ZOO - i have about 65% winrare on rank 4 - try to save 1mana-minions and use your weapon more.
It would be really great if you post you mulligain strategy aganist different classses..
So I was looking for some new random deck to play and enjoy it at the same time. At a first glance at this deck I was like this deck is silly how will that ever help you win. I then crafted and had the dust for Mukla luckily. Played a few casuals to be surprised the engine of this deck is solid with the chances of drawing CLO, Mukla, Shadowstep are pretty common at least for me and the game wen't pretty much how it is suppose to with this deck. Now decided to take into ranked first 8 games won all in a row then 2 Zoo locks after to end my spree but most match ups will be in your favor. Priest, Hunter, Palidin seems to be in your favor. Anyways thanks for uploading this deck as it is really fun and is a pretty nice deck overall.
I applaud this deck! Hits them with tons of damage per turn while melting away their cards, overall a very fun deck to play!
Went 10-2 first time trying out this deck and was really excited. Then went for another run and went 1-6 :( 4 of the 7 games were locks, and each one dominated me. Longest I lasted was 6 turns. Did have some great games where I used Coldlight and forced my opponent to burn cards cause his hand was full.
Thanks for uploading this deck Backspace.
I just have a question for you and everyone who's interested in this deck, or more specifically, two problems that I'm having with an otherwise excellent deck.
I'm finding the Faerie Dragon to be pretty underwhelming and I feel really uncomfortable knowing I'm never going to draw into Backstab. I get that board control is not the primary concern of this deck's playstyle but given the relatively weak health of our main minions, it sometimes feels too easy for opponents to trade up. Yes the deck is explosive and the Coldlight Oracles have an excellent dual purpose but I find myself frustrated sometimes at the lack of early game removal, for example, somewhat being forced into dropping a Southsea Deckhand to break through Mirror Image (When it's my only option to reach a Mana Wyrm when I don't draw Eviscerate to lose it to Fireblast next turn or whatever other example you can think of.)
I agree with people that the Faerie is the first card to go for an Acidic Swamp Ooze should the meta become weapon dense again, but currently that doesn't seem to be the case. I think that it should be removed regardless though, my reasoning being that it's essentially a board control card - it forces your opponent to trade minions (or use a weapon) and I think it's too inconsistent with the value we place on instant effects. With The Coin there are much better plays on turn two than holding it and playing a Faerie and without the coin you more than likely want to dagger up on turn 2 to prepare yourself for turns 3 and 4 with more immediacy than a Faerie provides. To alleviate the problem above, I've opted to switch it for Perdition's Blade. I feel that this is an incredibly versatile card and gives you more immediate value than an SI:7 Agent on the turn it's played. I don't think it is preferable to play it over an Agent on turn 2 with the coin but with Deadly Poison and Blade Flurry it can become a massive board clear for relatively cheap, giving you room to setup your win condition. It's also excellent if you don't get the coin and need to remove things such as Knife Juggler and Flame Imp or even to just ping shielded creatures from Argent Protector and kill the protector as well.
For me that's a really good change but I still feel limited by my lack of Backstabs for clearing board or for opening up Perdition (with those two cards on turn 4, Water Elemental would be removed immediately, for example).
Anybody got any feedback on this or any suggestions on what to go for Backstabs? I'm eyeing up the Defias Ringleader or an Argent Squire (for one Backstab) and then either a Loot Hoarder or a Sap for the second. I don't really remember feeling the need for two Saps in one game but I think Sap is the perfect example of a condom - it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
Overall a fantastic deck and thank you for sharing.
OK, my tip is to add in these to the original deck;
I got rid of a sap, assassins blade and Mulka (don't have it) for those. Works great, zoo matchup is improved. From what you say it sounds like you are concentrating on minions too much. The idea is go face and win before turn 10. You shouldn't be worried about a mana wyrm, even if it's buffed. You should only concern yourself with attacking taunts, and generally use blade flurry to get rid of them.
Also try not to worry about minions attacking yours, that's good for you it means they think they can slow the game down and burn you out. That won't happen. The harder matches are those that know to go for face against you, but you still have a chance against those too.
Hey there! Love the idea of this deck. I see that Mukla seems to be irreplaceable... But if I wanted to just give this a shot and play a few games without Mukla, what could I sub that would be atleast somewhat effective as his replacement? Hard to replace the overdraw and early board presence with just one card though.
Thanks!
Edit: I was actually thinking that a Fan of Knives wouldnt be terrible simply to make the Zoo matchup a little better. Doesn't really fit with the deck idea though.
This deck has so many bad cards in it.
It is however, one of the most fun decks I've played in an incredibly long time. Despite seeing it lose on a stream, I wondered how it actually worked and gave it a go and haven't been sorry. Thanks for posting it up!
I just played this deck for 30 min and I've had some of the most entertaining games I've ever had (and I like to play fun decks in general). I can't count the number of times I made Gul'dan say "My hand is too full!" ... oh man.... to burn so many cards is fun. The best game was against a miracle rogue: We were near the end of the game and he had Gadgetzan and another minion on the board and I was at 11 health (certainly going to die next turn). He was at 9 health and I had a 3 damage weapon and had Cold Blood in my hand. I top decked Coldlight Oracle, drew a shadowstep, dropped the oracle again and got a Southsea Deckhand.... which I gave Cold Blood for the win (and I had JUST enough mana to do it). I couldn't stop laughing!! :)
Thanks anyways aha xD
Mukla replacement?
Only played 3 matches so far (won all 3), but I've been looking for a fun alternative to my typical Druid Ramp and... my god, I've never laughed so much at Hearthstone. Incredibly enjoyable fun deck to play.
EDIT : Now on 7 wins in a row. Only Rank 14 so far.
This deck is indeed a ton of fun! I tried standard Miracle Rogue at one point but I just didn't like it very much...this is a blast to play! Thanks for posting.
