Why hello there. I’m backspace – I hit rank #1 on 5/31 on the last day and finished #2 last season with this aggro rogue deck (listed below) centered around coldlight oracle.
Towards the end of Season 2, I ran into a couple of aggro rogue variants on the ladder and tried to piece together a list. I noticed that their decks were very explosive, but ran out of gas quickly – or were sometimes inconsistent to get started. I wanted to optimize the list, and once I decided to build the deck around Coldlight Oracle, the deck performed absolutely amazingly for me.
Reasons to play the deck: It’s incredibly fun! The synergy with Coldlight + Shadowstep + Mukla or the explosive amount of damage you can produce with any charge minion makes for really exciting games. It also DESTROYS Miracle Rogue and Giants.
Bad matchups: Zoo – this is actually a ridiculously difficult matchup. Druid - heavy taunt based druid decks can be very tough as well, but winnable.
General strategy: In almost every matchup, you need to mulligan into early board presence (argent squire, leper gnome, loot hoarder, mukla… when you have coin, you can look for Defias Ringleader and SI:7 as well). You should NEVER mulligan coldlight oracle (but don’t keep 2). Your primary concern in most games is their life total rather than the state of the board. You will almost always end games with explosive turns featuring shadowstep with arcane golem / leeroy, or even deckhand (ha HA!) and cold blood. Pay attention to how much damage you have available in hand at all times.
I will be streaming soon (hopefully tomorrow - follow and tune in!), and of course AMA here.

#1 on 5/31 thanks for the help Caleb
Backspace comeback time?
This deck wrecks mechdecks.
This deck lost its run when Sludge Belcher was introduced.
It's even worse now with the synergy of the mechs. People just flood the board with mech on turn 3 while you have an argent squire and ringleaders. The old cards just got horribly useless and outdated.
I think it's sad though. Even paladins have better aggro decks than rogue these days.
Use vanish, problem solved
Yay because Vanish on turn 6 will save you from double fireball
Fun deck :D
I added some Preparation and Vanish to get more board clear for my charges. Also Edwin VanCleef to take advantage of the low-level mana throughout the deck and I don't like King Mukla giving my opponent Bananas. Vancleef takes more advantage of the deck than Mukla. Both are a 3 drop, but the latter one doesn't feel right in here. Thinking about putting in a Conceal to get more use out of charges come next turn. I'm thinking to add a Sprint and take out one of the Coldlight Oracle
Im running with this deck too. Its rly powerfull, but i dont have mukla, but i use Loatheb, and 2 Dancing Swords Instead. :)
Very very powerfull deck atm. coz of no handlocks and druids. Hunters are just a farm for this deck. Got legend with it 2nd season in row
Really like this deck. So far I've played 10 matches and only lost 2. I run Wolfrider and Azure Drake instead of Leeroy Jenkins and King Mukla just because I don't have them. I'm considering replacing the Wolfrider with Faceless Manipulator when I get the dust to craft it. Oh and because of the current Warrior and Hunter heavy meta I've replaced Faerie Dragon with Acidic Swamp Ooze. :)
I don't have the golens and the mukla, so i run 1 Ragnaros the Firelord for serious business, 1 Nozdormu and 1 Lorewalker Cho just for fun
Hey backspace with the new naxx release what are your thought on dancing sword and haunted creeper on this deck?
I'm giving this deck a try despite the rampant Zoolock and Druids in the current meta since I just unpacked 2 Arcane Golems and a gold Coldlight Oracle. I don't have Mukla, so I'm replacing him with Blood Knight for now (argent squire synergy/strengthen Zoo match up I guess. I couldn't think of a good replacement). If I love the deck, I'll probably craft Mukla. I just don't feel like dropping 1600 dust on a one-off card.
I'll let you guys know how this goes!
Ok, I just played 5 games and won 3 out of them. It was a bit rough though. The games went as follows;
So that's it. The deck is fun, but I'll probably keep Bloodknight in there for now. It WAS a fun deck, but I just don't feel like Mukla is an absolute staple to it and his addition to this one deck isn't worth the 1600 dust for me. If I unpack him though, I definitely wont disenchant :P
If you need more taunt removal adding owls are fine for their AoWs so with your 2 saps you can use 1(or 2 if you really need to) owls for taunt removal when you have your combo and can kill without the taunt In your way. I haven't tried it myself because I don't face a lot of Druids (mainly token). Hopefully it can benefit :D
I run Loatheb instead of King Mukla in mine.
This deck is really strong. I don't have king mukla, but I do have tinkmaster. I think he's actually better because turn 1 u play argent squire, they take the shield off, then u tinkmaster and get a 3/3 and possibly a 5/5. No bananas and u haven't lost any damage. He can also be used to get rid of a big taunt if you're behind to leeroy, so win win really.
What is the purpose of Mukla, I don't really know what he does.
He is a good minion, but the reason he is there, is because he gives the enemy 2 bananas. I.E. you fill up their hand(mill), so eventually they will lose cards because they have 10 cads(full). That is why the coldlight oracle is in there aswell. Shadowstep him twice, and for 5 mana both you and him get 6 cards. Usually, your opponent will at this point have lost a couple of cards atleast. This is very good vs example miracle, in that they already are stacked with 6-8 cards usually, and then they lose alot of important cards (maybe leeroy or gadedzan).
Hey :D
Any replacements for the Mukla??
Cheers
