The Mistcaller + Brann Bronzebeard = the dream!!!!
Goal of the deck is to get early control into hella synergies late game, the deck functions around getting and keeping board pressure most of the Battlecry cards in the deck trade extremely well to begin with, comboed with either Brann Bronzebeard or Rumbling Elemental and you are looking at VALUE VALUE VALUE!!!! and all of that is before everything in your deck gets +2/+2 for the rest of the game.
Deck has probably enough draw power for the tempo it has from just Azure Drake with the occasional double draw from Brann, it's got good flexibility with Earth Shock and Hex
Let me know what you think and any suggestions you have for the deck! I'll either change the deck or respond with why I chose not to for each adjustment.
I've seen some other people say that Rumbling Elemental just isn't powerful enough to be included in a deck, and I pretty much agree. It can't hold a board, and it's ability does nothing to change that consistently, with only two damage per... maybe one or two battlecry minions? Shaman doesn't have the card draw of Mage and Rumbling Elemental doesn't have the random effect of Flamewaker, so it's not as effective. I'd much rather even out the decklist with traditional midrange Shaman effects, adding 2-3 drop cards such as the Haunted Creeper, a Powermace, Feral Spirit, or even Elemental Destruction for late-game clears before a combo.
You might want to replace Bomb Lobber with a Piloted Shredder or some card like that, as well, to streamline better with the Overload on the Fireguard Destroyer. A Doomhammer might also be a good replacement, as another winning condition. I see the Lobber's viability with Brann, but again, I think tempo/control up to a stronger combo is more important than lots of smaller combos throughout a deck. Trying endlessly to build Hunter and Shaman deathrattle decks taught me that much, at least XD
Anyway, that's all I have to say! The combo on Brann with Tuskarr Totemic, the Fireguard Destroyer, Azure Drake, The Mistcaller, or Dr. Boom just makes my toesies tingle with delight. I can't wait to try it out. Thanks for an awesome inspiration, mate.
Wonderful comment!!!!!
I'm playing around with Rumbling Elemental right now and I agree that I find it lacking. I tend to agree that Bomb Lobber can come out. I'm adding +2 Piloted Shredder I'm looking at taking out Flame Juggler without the additional Rumbling Elemental synergies and maybe +1 Feral Spirit.
One deck-type that may disprove your assertion of one stronger combo being more important than lots of smaller combos is the Tempo Mage deck. It basically survives on the small combo approach, and Rumbling Elemental is very similar to Flamewaker. What are your thoughts on this?
Also, I think the Brann Bronzebeard/The Mistcaller combo is too slow to be realistic. IF you survive to turn 9, IF you have both in hand, and IF you can survive long enough to play your remaining minions, +2/+2 doesn't seem strong enough to win you the game unless you're already ahead. I think Bloodlust makes a better finisher for this deck than a dream The Mistcaller play.
Hey, mate! As for the Rumbling Elemental versus the Flamewaker, I already described how I feel about that in the first paragraph in my first comment. As for the Mistcaller, well, I've been trying him out and he actually works very well, with or without Brann. I made a deck with him and the combo in it for myself, if you'd care to look. (http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/374329-epic-ohhverload-shaman) It isn't so much that he only works if you're winning, it's more that he cements your victory. Which is pretty important.
It's been confirmed by Ben Brode on the TAC podcast that targeted battlecries will target the same minion twice, so unfortunately Fire Elemental and Big Game Hunter can't kill two things.... ;(
BGH is still a great card against Dr.7 and Mysterious Challenger in the meta in general he's strong right now I (and plenty of other shaman players) are running 1 BGH and 1 hex regardless of his battlecry synergies.
This deck seems really interesting. I am going to give it a shot wen we have access to all the new cards!
