Recently jumped from rank 1119 to 9 with this deck. 3rd version of the "Virus" Mechlock deck.
Easy match ups:
-CONTROL WARRIOR
- You wanna play as aggressive as possible. Save bgh and removal for the 5+ legendaries you know they have and keep beating down that armor.
MULL: Mechwarper , harvest golem, darkbombs, cogmasters. clockwork
-TEMPO MAGE
-Use mech synergy to control the board in the early and mid game so that they can't get flamewakers and etc out and win.
MULL: Mechwarpers, cogmasters, darkbombs, clockwork gnomes
-FACE HUNTER
- Use really cheap shit and spells to control the fuck out of them and run them out of steam
MULL: Mortal coil, darkbomb, cogmaster, clockwork, mechwarper, annoy o tron
-ZOO
- Same idea as with face hunter, get really good value trades and kill the cards that they need (knife jugglers , eggs, etc) before they build up the board. Kill things now so you don't lose later.
Mull: Annoy-o-tron, mechwarper, harvest golems, darkbombs
-GRIM PATRON WARRIOR
- Control control control and remember that turn 8 (7 if they drop emperor ) means the grim patron combo. ALWAYS KEEP GRIM PATRON IN MIND WHEN DROPPING MINIONS, DON'T OVER COMMIT AND HAVE NOTHING DOWN THAT DOESNT HAVE 3+ ATTACK
MULL: HELLFIRE , Darkbombs, early game.
-FREEZE MAGE:
Always keep in mind that freeze mage relies on living another turn than bursting. Play really aggressive! KEZAN DESTROYS
Hard fights:
-Demonlock
-Malygos bullshit (If you aren't careful)
Emperor's prupose : Make things cheaper for combos with Faceless + shadow flame , Faceless+ bgh, or to either control or rush down your opponent
Jarrax's purpose: Long term survivability / life gain , burst damage.
Faceless's purpose: combos , survivability ( such as copying a taunt ) , rush (such as copying a charge creature to finish off your opponent.
AWESOME deck --- Crush meta Great job
Thanks bro! First deck on this site, have tons more ideas and decks , stay tuned
Weak against oil rogue and mech shaman and demonlock !! others will suffer
Sounds like it would work
Sir, I would like to have found your deck before I started to build one from zero. But finally I found it and would like to exchange some ideas if you don't mind.
Please take a look at my combination. My deck
I noticed that you covered pretty well some of my weakness with the TBH and Jaraxxus, both that I don't have. TBH I can craft. Jaraxxus I may change for Alex, but who would you took off the set?Tinkertown?
Thanks for the help. I'll test your version soon!
Hey bro, after testing out and looking at your deck, here's what I got. Although it's looks alright, there's a lot of synergy problems which can't exist in a mech/ tribe deck. Most of the cards can get abused by grim patron or killed by your own fel cannons, replace some of the less powerful cards like chow and such for more synergy
sub for Jarraxus and Kezan mystic ? is this deck still viable without them ?
Rag , alex, or any other card that wins the game can replace jarrax . Although I do feel that a kean is needed to hard counter the freeze mage and hunters.
solid 21 : 4 so far climb EU Ladder atm on rank 5
Thanks bro, I climbed from 19 to 2 with it
Is Kezan Mystic really any good in this deck? Its a tech card at best and mostly its dead weight. I think Arcane Nullifier would work better. Maybe two to replace Belcher?
Arcane null isn't really that good in regards to the meta, grim patrons (a huge chunk of it) would only abuse it. And although teching a kean seems weird, it's really good against high ranking decks like midrange hunter, freeze mage, and tempo mage, as well as not not being able to proc grims
I feel like I'm playing this deck wrong. Should I be focused on board control or hitting face... or?
Depending on the deck you're playing you want to alter your plays. Ex: aggro decks and zoo you can control and run out of steam , grim patrons you can play around and etc. You usually want to make value trades and be smart in regards to what class you're fighting. Always keeping hounds , blade flurry , Velens , and etc in mind.
Feels like it plays way more like control than you'd expect from a mech deck. Unless you get a great start with warper/cog/annoyatron and opponent blanks, more than likely you'll focus on trading and keeping tempo with hero power and AoE if you get behind. Deck doesn't have any kind of burst to seal the deal if you smorc, and fel canon really works best when you can guarantee it hits the right target by clearing opponent's board.
Games have been pretty close, mostly because you'll tap yourself down just around critical nuke range from your opponent and there are few great tech cards that opponents don't really expect that can pull out the win.
This is a good anti aggro deck because of all the board clears and Fel Cannon. However, I'm finding that it loses steam to control decks. It doesn't have enough burst.
On the plus side, this deck really frustrates Patron Warriors. Mostly because they don't know how to play against it. I've had 2 rage quit mid fight.
Lol exactly , a lot of ladder decks get confused af
With a good enough early game you can smorc most control decks. Just kill armor smith
I 've also tried making a mech deck for Warlock, but it just gets out tempoed by all mech mages and shamans.
Is there a reason why you didn't put a Ironbeak Owl in?
I left out iron beak because with this deck, as with mech shaman, you really really need a strong board presence and dominant early game with the warpers and masters and etc. Iron beak slows down your hand and the tproblems you would use it to solve like Sylv or whatever you can take care of with syphon or a shadow flame and trade combo
