Hello,
After being completely frustrated by getting facerushed by multiple decktypes I built this deck to stop the mindless rushers. It turned out to be pretty solid.
General approach:
I've learned there are 2 ways to plays this deck depending on your starting situation. You can play it as ramp when you can get ahead on curve, just with slightly less powerful creatures. Or you can throw up the great wall of taunts to stop mindless facerushing, still being able to pull of a combo in the late game, which most players do not expect. Do not hesitate to use one of the combo parts earlier as this deck has a long breath.
Shade of naxxramas doesnt fit in this type of deck as it is way to slow in this meta and has a purpose for the combo set up. Therefore I either use spider tanks or harvest golems. You need to be able to use your creatures or you will get rushed down.
KT can be easiliy swapped with Cenerius, both have their own value in different scenarios.
If people would like a more specific write up for mulligan and matches feel free to ask. +1 if you like it
Mulligan (always keep chow):
- Without coin
Aggro: always keep wild growth, wrath, innervate, spider tank
Other: wild growth, (wrath), innervate, spider tank, senjin.
- With coin
Aggro: always keep wild growth, wrath, innervate sen'jin, keeper of the grove, spider tank, (swipe)
Other: wild growth, (wrath), innervate, spider tank, sen jin.(swipe)
There are matches where you also want to keep a 5 drop when you already have wild growth in hand so it curves nicely. Same goes for innervate. The basic idea is to play a creature every turn from turn 3 or 4, it is your job to figure out the best possible curve with the current hand.
Class specific keepers:
Paladin: Swipe, keeper
Hunter: Wrath, senjin, keeper
Warrior: just curve
Warlock: keeper, bgh
Mage: keeper, wrath, spider tank
Druid: just curve
Priest: wrath, spider tank, druid of the claw, sunwalker with innervate
Shaman: wrath, spider tank
Rogue: just curve
Changes march: slightly better early game curve, exorcist is buffed in almost every match up. Farseer most of the time used for healing a taunter.
lol why downvote endboas? Ragnaros VS 3+ minions is fucking useless, most of the decks right now are 3+ minions all the time
Hey man, What would you take out for a second zombie chow? I never get the one in my mulligan.
Maybe a senjin? I dunno its a great card and all but the chow is just too good
Why not just run Kel'Thuzad?
As long as oil rogue is a thing this deck will lose nearly every single rogue matchup! sunwalker into their sap equals you just lost the game
Do you think Ysera is good in place of KT? i see this deck having a poor match up against control/
Great deck, im nearing Golden Druid with this deck!!
Any thoughts on Starfall? Awesome deck by the way.
thank you sir for this deck. can't tell you how many times I get a zombie chow out on turn one, then innervate to sheildmasta turn two. aggro decks sit and cant think of how to deal with it that early lol
i think he means that theres alot of taunts
well, my 1st go with this deck, i went 7-3, between ranks 9 and 10. losses to hunter (had him at 1 life), a handlock (had unbelieveable draw...every turn was like an 8/8 taunt, or a heal), and i can't remember the other.
overall, definitely a great deck.
Works really great in the current meta. Changed 1Spider Tank for 1Mind Control Tech and 1Sunwalker for Cenarius. Went 11:1 with it and pushed top 100 legend with the only lose against oil rogue.
Thoughts on switching Spider Tank for Earthen Ring Farseer?
Spider tank is too good for the stats. You have a SEA of taunts to be worried about heal. Ancient of Lore is plenty.
there are a couple cards that may be better than spider tank (1 of), but, spider tank, used to wipe out small creatures, works really well.
I think it would be more constructive if you created the deck and played it in the rank your in. I think that would provide more insight for all of us than just retelling an encounter. That would help alot.
Thanks for the mulligan write up. Helps me out a ton.
I guess you could remove one Spidertank for a MCT
It's just really weak if you run out of early game honestly because you just get out pressured by heavy removal
Doing great against the long string of aggro I've been facing.
