Hello,
After being completely frustrated by getting facerushed by multiple decktypes I built this deck to stop the mindless rushers. It turned out to be pretty solid.
General approach:
I've learned there are 2 ways to plays this deck depending on your starting situation. You can play it as ramp when you can get ahead on curve, just with slightly less powerful creatures. Or you can throw up the great wall of taunts to stop mindless facerushing, still being able to pull of a combo in the late game, which most players do not expect. Do not hesitate to use one of the combo parts earlier as this deck has a long breath.
Shade of naxxramas doesnt fit in this type of deck as it is way to slow in this meta and has a purpose for the combo set up. Therefore I either use spider tanks or harvest golems. You need to be able to use your creatures or you will get rushed down.
KT can be easiliy swapped with Cenerius, both have their own value in different scenarios.
If people would like a more specific write up for mulligan and matches feel free to ask. +1 if you like it
Mulligan (always keep chow):
- Without coin
Aggro: always keep wild growth, wrath, innervate, spider tank
Other: wild growth, (wrath), innervate, spider tank, senjin.
- With coin
Aggro: always keep wild growth, wrath, innervate sen'jin, keeper of the grove, spider tank, (swipe)
Other: wild growth, (wrath), innervate, spider tank, sen jin.(swipe)
There are matches where you also want to keep a 5 drop when you already have wild growth in hand so it curves nicely. Same goes for innervate. The basic idea is to play a creature every turn from turn 3 or 4, it is your job to figure out the best possible curve with the current hand.
Class specific keepers:
Paladin: Swipe, keeper
Hunter: Wrath, senjin, keeper
Warrior: just curve
Warlock: keeper, bgh
Mage: keeper, wrath, spider tank
Druid: just curve
Priest: wrath, spider tank, druid of the claw, sunwalker with innervate
Shaman: wrath, spider tank
Rogue: just curve
Changes march: slightly better early game curve, exorcist is buffed in almost every match up. Farseer most of the time used for healing a taunter.
Probably a good move. I feel like Dr. Boom gets killed the turn after I play him by BGH around 75% of the time. Every deck (including this one) is running him. How is Hogger working for you?
Nice idea for stopping aggro, but I don't know about this curve. Seems like there's no minions going on in the 1 and 2 slots unless you luck up and mull into that 1 Zombie. This fact alone is going to make it tough vs aggro decks, because they'll be way ahead on board.
Well, you got those 2 Wild Growth and 2 Innervate to get that early game going.
Ramp Druids never really played 1/2 mana drops until Chow came along, sounds like you would be more suited to play Midrange.
He's got a point. I've had bad consecutive hands where all I did in my first 3 turns was power up. Not drawing wild growth and innervate can mean death. By the time you drop a taunt they've flooded the board with creatures that can't be removed with just 1 swipe.
I always run Mukla in my Druid decks because I really like the Innervate -> Mukla opening. Mukla is strong and the Bananas can slow down your opponents opening. What are your thoughts on Mukla in the current metagame?
let me guess.. your like rank 10 or higher... mukla is bad and always will be... e z to deal with... sorry
Wrong actually, he's played in some high level aggro decks. While not commonly used after GvG he is still acceptable.
If you're not playing aggro though then it's a bad choice.
sky golems made him outdated.
Am I the only one that can't afford to craft Dr. Boom? XD The struggle is real
u de deathwing, eredar lord of the burning azeroth?
Nope. lol I don't have any dust atm
I removed the zombie chow for second savage roar and instead of dr.boom because of the BGH ran in every single deck I put KT in its place and im on a 8 game win streak made an account with hearthpwn just to say thanks for deck I love druid decks was really struggling on the ladder geat decks thanks man
Went from 7 to 11 with this deck. Maybe I just suck.
EDIT: To elaborate, this deck is great against aggro, but I get owned by priests and mages.
3-1... rank 8. Seems a little too top-heavy if you don't draw a Wild Growth or Innervate by turn 3. Other than that, it's solid.
Bad draws kill this deck. The opponents didn't even have a decent start and this deck fell over. rank 11 to 16. Maybe better in the lower ranks. Who knows.
I got From rank 5 to rank 2 switching this deck and facehunter, even to 1, but now I'm just getting opponents who always seems to get the perfect answers for me, back to rank 2. I'm so frustrated now, guess I'll take a break and then switch to facehunter.
It feels clunky when you draw your taunts early. I think at the lower ranks where mage has enough tempo to just fire ball my turn 4 senjin and keep up the pressure is where I kept dying. Not drawing a single innervate and wild growth till the point of death was a bit frustrating.
Ok, I have failed my try for legend. I need more cards to get legend, or more time. My viable decks I have all cards needed are just face/midrange hunter and zoo. I miss some more or less important cards or meta/tech cards for other decks (Here I only played with cenarius instead of aow) I was at rank 1 twice, but only a few games before I went back to 2. I was playing most of the day yesterday and when I fell to rank 3 I simply quit. Going for legend is too frustrating for me, next time I'll just stop playing at rank 5 and save myself from all the rage frustration and nerves I had when I was trying to get last few ranks before season ends.
rag for cenarius?
