Hello,
After being completely frustrated by getting facerushed by multiple decktypes I built this deck to stop the mindless rushers. It turned out to be pretty solid.
General approach:
I've learned there are 2 ways to plays this deck depending on your starting situation. You can play it as ramp when you can get ahead on curve, just with slightly less powerful creatures. Or you can throw up the great wall of taunts to stop mindless facerushing, still being able to pull of a combo in the late game, which most players do not expect. Do not hesitate to use one of the combo parts earlier as this deck has a long breath.
Shade of naxxramas doesnt fit in this type of deck as it is way to slow in this meta and has a purpose for the combo set up. Therefore I either use spider tanks or harvest golems. You need to be able to use your creatures or you will get rushed down.
KT can be easiliy swapped with Cenerius, both have their own value in different scenarios.
If people would like a more specific write up for mulligan and matches feel free to ask. +1 if you like it
Mulligan (always keep chow):
- Without coin
Aggro: always keep wild growth, wrath, innervate, spider tank
Other: wild growth, (wrath), innervate, spider tank, senjin.
- With coin
Aggro: always keep wild growth, wrath, innervate sen'jin, keeper of the grove, spider tank, (swipe)
Other: wild growth, (wrath), innervate, spider tank, sen jin.(swipe)
There are matches where you also want to keep a 5 drop when you already have wild growth in hand so it curves nicely. Same goes for innervate. The basic idea is to play a creature every turn from turn 3 or 4, it is your job to figure out the best possible curve with the current hand.
Class specific keepers:
Paladin: Swipe, keeper
Hunter: Wrath, senjin, keeper
Warrior: just curve
Warlock: keeper, bgh
Mage: keeper, wrath, spider tank
Druid: just curve
Priest: wrath, spider tank, druid of the claw, sunwalker with innervate
Shaman: wrath, spider tank
Rogue: just curve
Changes march: slightly better early game curve, exorcist is buffed in almost every match up. Farseer most of the time used for healing a taunter.
is this deck any good for this meta? July 2015 season. I won the 1st 2 games with relative ease, then lost the net 6 games after that. I am thinking with the addition of the BRM expansion this deck got outdated by quite a bit. It just cant seem to keep up with all the direct dmg and utility that BRM adds, maybe its just me but am not too sure that is the case. There are just too many ways to deal direct dmg in this meta for this deck to be successful i think.
Good deck and nice curve, I did a few change for myself, got a wining streak this season for climbing quick, like 10-1 or sth, but lose to double combo Chromaggus druid
just gonna point out that your cardlist now shows 31 cards.
I don't have Dr. Boom or Cenarius, have any suggestions on what I should replace them with?
Is Cenarius worth crafting/neccesary for this deck? I have enough dust for a legendary right now. I'm thinking about getting Sylvanas but this deck seems promising.
Couple of thoughts. No1, GREAT idea on the lil exo, I added her and you are correct, she's practically a guaranteed 3/4 or better taunt in this meta. Superb addition.
No.2 I was playing this deck a lot earlier this month and then stopped for a bit because once I got to certain rank, it stopped winning. It stopped winning because it's really good vs aggro and not so good vs anything else. Then I revisited this deck and I've come to realize something, which is Spider Tank has no business being here. There is almost no reason to not just run Shade in it's place. You are almost guaranteed to have a 3/3 at the minimum anyway vs a 3/4 that doesn't grow or synergize with anything going on in this deck. As a matte of fact I think a 2nd lil exo or MCT would also easily outvalue the tank.
No.3 The other thing is, Antique healbot is almost strictly better than Sunwalker for the purpose that Sunwalker serves. Both are defensive cards used pretty much to buy time, but where Sunwalker can be sapped or silenced, Antique is a guaranteed extra turn or 2 turns and the enemy can't counter it. Making those changes improved my winrate with this deck I think it can for others as well.
Guys, how can i replace Dr. Boom? Maybe ragnaros ( i almost have not some legends)
Hmm...Yes, I suppose Ragnaros the Firelord. However, I highly recommend you craft Dr. Boom ASAP. Almost every deck can use him; he is an amazing card.
War Golem and 2 Wisps
As others have said, this deck is ok but it really gets crushed by anything mid-range or breaks even vs late game to be honest. Maybe when the meta is very face aggro this has a high win rate but right now it's just winning 50% for me. Only running 1 combo is REALLY hurting this deck and no shades means you can't even set up a high dmg combo. It's really hard to win with this when you don't have complete board control.
I really want a Mind Control Tech in here. I get in trouble when the enemy get too many minions. Which card should I substitute?
Other changes I have done (cause I lack the cards) is:
-1 Sunwalker +1 Sylvanas Windrunner
-1 Dr. Boom +1 Kel'Thuzad
I keep losing against midrange pally with this. Muster combo is auto GG for druid, and big creatures get Aldor'd or equalized. Fortunately not many people play pally.
I just had a game where Kel'Thuzad + Sunwalker were superstars. My opponent had played Mal'Ganis (golden even!) with a Floating Watcher and a couple other minions out. With these guys (and help from my other minions) I was able to keep KT (and my face) safe from harm until I could clear out his big bad guys. He even played Demonheart for a further +5/+5 on Mal'Ganis but eventually the demons and their Molten Giant buddy were vanquished and I won the game.
I don't quite have all the cards to make this deck so I'm having to sub a couple things but the design seems quite solid, thanks!
Cool deck, very fun against frustrated hunters who just can't hit face :D
I subbed 1 spider tank and 1 sunwalker for 1 kezan mystic and Sneed's. Mirror image totally kills this deck so I had to take Kezan, and its useful vs hunters too. Sneeds for better lategame, innervated sooner is very strong. We have enough taunts already.
I don't know why this deck is so highly voted, it's seriously bad.
Was rank 2 last season, is that relevant or something?
Decks are popular here for creativity, not being good.
Is there a counter to this highly cancerous deck? I lose every time to it..
Cancer calling deck cancer. Cancerception.
Nice deck!
Great VS aggro decks (they are everywhere). But still with good chances when facing midrange or control decks. Cool . The one weakness that I see is Handlock. Haven't played vs Handlock yet, but I am sure that this deck will have a hard time (due to siphon soul, soulflame..a yeah...and this Giant..and the other 3 of them.) ... but well... there must be a counter to every deck, right ?
