Hello guys just hit #1 legend on both NA and EU with this deck
proof: http://imgur.com/QLaQbK4,wBtBe1d
frequently asked questions:
why 2 whirlwind?
right now the aggro decks run leaper gnome and clockwork gnome which makes whirlwind extremly valuable. Also muster for battle is staple for paladin now and lots of divine shields makes it even stronger. Also can be combined with 2 armorsmith for infinite armor and comboed with baron geddon and obviously acolyte of pain.
why dr boom?
Best neutral legendary gvg has to offer 9/9 + 2 darkbomb in one card.
why no gorehowl with that much lifegain?
I prefer geddon instead as a 7 drop its better against aggro and since I run 2 whirlwind. Also we get less vurnable to harrison jones
Why no loatheb?
We run harrison instead. I stole the idea from the second warrior god kitkatz. Miracle druid and miracle is pretty non existant atm so loatheb loses value. we need 3 5drops and a 5/4 compared to 5/5 is not that much of diffrence.
Subs for legendary cards. Grommash is the only real necesesity rest can be subbed for legendarys or high casting creatures with equal casting cost or gorehowl. if you dont have harrison I recommend loatheb. if you dont have alex or ysera play another big bomb not necesarry a 9 casting cost legendary.
Crafting legendar prioritys:
1. Grommash
2. dr boom (best neutral legendary and works in every deck pretty much)
3. sylvanas (its a very strong legendary and works in other decks)
4. rag ( same reason as sylvanas)
5. alexstraza
Decks and metas changes constantly but theese 4 has always been staples in warrior control.
Cards like geddon, harrison, faceless, gorehowl, troggzor, blackknight, loatheb etc are good/bad depending on the meta or what you aiming to beat.
Strong mu's:
Priest, hunter, handlock, shaman, paladin
weaker mu's:
mech mage, zoo, double combo druid but they are still about 50%
Mulligan guide top3 cards to look for:
mage: 1. fiery waraxe 2. armorsmith(keep cruel if you have coin+armosmith then coin armosmith into cruel) 3. acolyte 4. deathbite
warlock zoo: 1 fiery waraxe 2 deathbite 3 armorsmith 4 cruel
warlock handlock: 1 bgh 2 execute 3 acolyte 4 shieldslam
druid: 1 fiery waraxe 2 execute (for innervated stuff if you have cruel aswell, keep cruel otherwise not) 3 acolyte
rogue: 1 fiery waraxe 2. armorsmith 3. acolyte 4. deathbite
warrior: 1 fiery waraxe 2 deathbite 3 acolyte hard mull for theese 3 cards
priest: 1 fiery waraxe 2 deathbite 3 acolyte 4 execute hard mull for all except execute
paladin: 1 acolyte 2 armorsmith 3 fiery waraxe 4 whirlwind/deathbite
hunter: 1 fiery waraxe 2 cruel 3 armorsmith 4 deathbite
shaman: 1 fiery waraxe 2 armorsmith 3 acolyte 4 deathbite
Theres some things to keep togheter in some cases like shieldblock + shieldslam, armorsmith + cruel but if you are unsure usually just look for fiery waraxe, armorsmith, deathbite and u should be fine
check out my stream if you want to check the deck in action twitch.tv/sjow enjoy!
Latest update:
-1 shieldblock
+1 brawl
This update allows us to have 2x whirlwind and brawl without cutting any threaths.
nowadays u usually just turn 3 cycle shieldblock. A turn 3 heropower is just 3 less armor not a big deal. And having just one shieldblock allows us to win fatigue war more.
Credz for a very very cool deck ! But i'm just wondering what's the closest to best replacement for Alextrasza ? I don't have the dust to make it, and not keen to spend money on packs to make it.
Both The Black Knight and Harrison Jones are meta-situational dealing card. If you feel that many people running Sludge Belcher then go ahead, replace it. But I think harrison does better job in this meta.
Sjow took out 1 whirlwind for the Black Knight on stream today.
Update -1 ww for a 2nd BGH
I saw him having 2 BGH's on stream earlier today, too. But didnt he swap it out for a Pioleted Shredder shortly after though?
I run a similar deck but run Troggzor rather than Harrison. Troggzor stops casters in their tracks and attracts a huge amount of attention.
Clever, but I feel like you don't get that same immediate benefit as you would with Harrison.
this deck is so bad,i cant believe i spend so much dust to create this crap deck win/loss 0/10 .
Why only one shield block?
2x shieldmaiden probably
Shield Block combos with Shield Slam so well though.
Shieldmaiden offers her 5/5 body, she wins fatigue war
Recently replaced Ragnaros the Firelord with The Black Knight as I felt Rag wasn't doing enough in a lot of the match-ups I was seeing on the ladder (Druid and more Druid). Every time I needed him to hit a 50/50 he missed, and most other times he got BGH'd or Faceless/BGH by Druids (which is already a tough match-up).
Anyways, TBK has helped immensely. It's increased my win rate against Priest as well as Druid, and as anti-value as it seems, it's great against the annoy-o-trons we see in Rogue and Mage.
As a long time Paladin and Paladin main, there must be something you're doing or not doing to put yourself at a disadvantage. Warrior Control is always one of the tougher matchups for me.
Against mid-range try keeping their board in check. WC excels at single target removal, so a board with 1-3 creatures is generally alright to deal with. A board with 4 or more is where the problem lies as all you have for that is Brawl and Geddon, and only 1 of each. If you can keep their board clear they'll eventually run out of cards to play and you auto-win. Paladin's generally lack card draw as their main source is an 8-mana card (Lay on Hands) which they generally will save for post-Alex unless they absolutely have to use it. If you let them get a board advantage and have no Brawl to answer you'll have a bad time, however midrange is usually an easy matchup for WC.
Control is different. It's a very even matchup compared to WC and will generally come down to who can outlast the other. A lot of these games come down to fatigue so the first one to overstep the board and get cleared will generally lose.
Against both there is a combo which will pretty much auto-win the game for the Warrior. Hold Harrison for Tirion, kill Tirion and in the same turn Harrison the Ashbringer. There is almost no way for Paladin to come back from this as it's a huge tempo swing, especially if they had to play Tirion on an empty board. I've lost so many games to Warrior like this during my climb to legend last season. Additionally, if you can get 2 or more cards off each of your Acolytes your chances of winning skyrocket as Paladin can't keep up with that card draw. This assumes Harrison gets some value as well. Try to make sure your Acolyte's don't get one-shot by Truesilver.
Hope some of this is somewhat useful, good luck!
Priest may be very annoying, but I don't think Priest has that big of an advantage. Your minions tend to be stronger, and their removals are often not enough to deal with all your threats. Just watch out for their Key removals. Try to bait out SW:Death with Boom or Geddon(maybe even Shieldmaiden) before playing Alextrasza or Ragnaros. Watch out for Mind Control. Always keep in mind when playing your important Legendaries into their 10 mana turn. Also, when playing Acolyte of Pain or Armorsmith after turn 6, be ready to deal with Cabal Shadowpriest play. You may choose to hold Harrison in your hand if you saw a Thoughtsteal being played, but that depends on how many weapons were still in the deck, and how lucky you feel.
I think Handlock is a bit of a draw luck game, while also being one of the more difficult matchups to manage. Often the entire game may come down to 2 questions only: 1) Did the Handlock draw the Drakes and Mountain Giants early enough? 2) Did the Warrior draw Execute/Shield Slam/BGH? Assuming the answers to both questions are "yes", you need to spend your removals wisely, especially against a turn 4 Drake. If you have a way to deal with a Mountain Giant followup, you can kill the Drake, then the Giant for a huge tempo gain. If you just have enough removal for one minion, you still can kill the drake, but the Giant may screw you up pretty bad. If you have an option to stall with Sludge Belcher, you may do so; it's up to you.
Keep track of their Drakes and Giants played and plan your removals accordingly. Handlocks tend to go low HP pretty fast(especially if you have board advantage), so there will be quite a few games where you finish the game with Grom burst lethal, so keep that in mind. Keep Harrison for Jaraxxus, unless you really need to play him. If you control the board well enough and go into fatigue(though rare), you will almost always win.
i gave this deck to a friend of mine... new to tgc´s new to hearthstone... then i tried to beat him down with my hunter...
jesus -.- not a single deck i got has changes against it xD
so a few "possible" reasons...
My Deck´s sucks ? at least i´m at rank 7 before i fall down against priest´s or other warrior like this one
Bad Luck ? Starting hand... aye... rng ? oh hell yeah -.-
i wished i have enough dust to recreate this one :D but atm there are around 10k dust missing ^^
Cant win against Shaman
Cant win against Druid
Cant win against Warlock
Cant win against Paladin
And cant win against aggro if you dont have very good curve
Legend with this deck ? dont make me laugh....
Or you got lucky in the mulligan or you are screwed, the exact same problem with every Warr deck: no weapon and you are screwed (unless your opponent draw a worst hand than yours)
Sjow added 1 more Big Game Hunter instead of 1 Whirlwind on stream/
Why is it that almost every warrior deck needs one or more epic cards (let alone legendaries) just to be decent? If it's something I don't understand about these decks, ok, sorry for complaining, I just really wish there were cheaper/more accessible options since I find warrior deck to be just as fun (what I tried in the past) as Rogue or Warlock
