Daring Fire-Eater : Hero power is our best early tool agaisnt murlocs and tokens. This card helps to clear up to 3 health minions in early.
Acidic Swamp Ooze : Great agaisnt Bomb Warrior , Tempo Rogue and Shamans that run Likkim . Also provides a body agaisnt aggro decks.
Doomsayer : If you have Pyromaniac , Messenger Raven in your hand , you can play this on turn 2 agaisnt fast decks. Also if your opponent starts a nice board at turn 1 , this helps a lot. You can skip this vs slow decks.
Pyromaniac and Messenger Raven : Keeping these helps to secure the board and provides card draw.
Mountain Giant : Keep only agaisnt slow decks.
Never Keep : Khadgar , Arcane Intellect , Conjurer's Calling , Arcane Keysmith and high cost cards like Blizzard , Flamestrike , Astromancer , Power of Creation etc.

+2 Pyromaniac : good stats , draw potential + helping agaisnt aggro.
+2 Arcane Keysmith : finding Counterspell is nice agaisnt Brawl and aggro buffs. Also Ice Barrier is good too vs aggro and bombs.
+2 Mountain Giant : nice target for Conjurer's Calling . Potential end gamer combo. this + Conjurer's Calling = Grave Horror or Mountain Giant .
-1 Acidic Swamp Ooze : 1 ooze is enough for now.
-1 Doomsayer : Now we have Pyromaniac to secure our early board. 2 Doomsayer is overmuch.
-1 Polymorph : 1 is enough. There are not so much big threats anymore.
-1 Rotten Applebaum : 1 is enough because of it's cost.
-1 Astromancer : not reliable. possibly summon minions with bad stats.
-1 Frost Nova : with Doomsayer change , we dont need this anymore.
Version 2.0 :
+1 Power of Creation : more Khadgar synergy + a good mid-game option.
+2 Acidic Swamp Ooze : there are lots of warriors , rogues for now.
+1 Frost Nova : synergy with Doomsayer . Also can save your board.
+2 Arcane Intellect : synergy with Astromancer . helps to fill your hand again.
-2 Arcane Keysmith : very bad tempo but can be useful sometimes maybe when we see different enemies.
-1 Hex Lord Malacrass : same as Kalecgos . Not for now.
-1 Kalecgos : was too slow with other cards.
-1 Acolyte of Pain : replaced with Arcane Intellect
-1 Voodoo Doll : Polymorph is enough for now.

I’m not sure Malacrass is all that great. Inconsistent Hail Mary
Started out 8-1 with this deck then just got completely destroyed by Murloc Shaman 4 games in a row. Seems like no matter what Mage deck I play I just get steamrolled by murlocs. I don't even know what tools Mage really has to stop them from getting completely out of control by turn 4.
This deck is so much fun! The late game is absolutely insane, most decks just can;t deal with you if you get to turn 8+
On the other hand Being able to use Khadgar and Conjurer's Calling on will most of the time just win you the game straight out of the bat.

How to deal with bomb warriors? Every other opponent is easy as pie, but zero win rate against bombers.
i swapped out hex lord for elysiana. wait for them to shuffle a lot and replace ur deck
I'm playing with a different version of the deck, (with the giants). Right now on rank 4 is 8-3, the deck is a little slow but is a really nice deck.

Great idea but felt kinda slow. Maybe that's just the current meta before stabilizing.
1x Baleful Banker for a 2nd spin at Khadgar, 2x Ray of Frost, 1x Blast Wave against aggro, 1x Ooze (tech against thief/shaman all over the ladder) and 2x Pyromaniac. I'm still struggling against Thief Rogue.

Very fun deck, not sure how strong it is yet. Seems hard to survive bomb Warrior or beast Hunter.
-1 malacrass reason= huge tempo loss no combo potential
+1 vargoth reason= huge combo potential not a tempo loss if played turn 8+
I get your point but no combo potential? Imagine having a second Khadgar or Jan'alai how great is this. And you have an 8 drop for conjurers calling, what is very great as well. Vargoth is only good for big removal and it can realy backfire with conjurers calling in my opinion Malacrass > Vargoth

With all the potential 1 drops in an Aggro opening week meta. I’d say give 1 Blast Wave a shot to generate some spells of of the pesky 1 health murlocs.
Good point. But i think there will be lots of aggro decks like Murloc Shaman , Secret Paladin , Zoo Warlock. If we see more control decks , it may be a replacement
Why not Mountain Giant? Khagdar > Mountain Giant > Conjurer's Calling = 4 Mountain Giants. Since there is no other 12 cost minion, and system always look at this minion as 12 cost minion, even if you throw him for 3, or 4 mana, it's 1000% you get 4 Mountain Giants.
Actually, even better, Grave Horror from Rastakhan is a thing. So basically, that combo is either good or super good.

Conjurer's Calling summons random minions, neutral or of any class.
Yep, you're right, I didn know. I made tests on this deck but with Mountain Giant and it's pretty sweet.
4th turn - Mountain Giant
5th turn - Khadgar + Conjurer's Calling
