- Wandering Monster, Lesser Emerald Spellstone, Candleshot, Animal Companion, Explosive Trap, and Tracking are all highly desired cards for your opening hand.
- If Deathstalker Rexxar shows up in your opening hand, don't get rid of him, he is amazing to play on-curve.
- Zombeasts OP.
I did exactly the same thing for exactly the same reasons... and it's been fun for me, too!
I have Deathstalker Rexxar (and most of the other cards), but I'm missing Rhok'delar and both To My Side! .
I'm 100% FTP and about about to hit 1600 dust.
should i craft Rohk'delar or a To My Side first?
interesting side note: with out Rohk or TMS I can run a Secret Keeper and Professor Putricide getting even more synergy out of the secrets
Definitely cast Rhok'delar, who knows, you might get To My Side! from it. It is extremely volatile, whereas Animal Companion is fine.
On a side note, Secretkeeper and Professor Putricide completely defeats the purpose of the deck since they're both minions, so...
thanks for the advice , i'm gonna follow it.
continuing the aside: yea...i know adding minions defeats the "purpose" of this deck. you are correct. But I currently don't have any of the 3 cards that require no-minions and waned to start to get a feel for it. so i added those secret buffin minions and it's been fun. sorta theory craft, that's all. i have been able to surprise other players who think they know my exact deck archetype :)
Yeah, in your situation, I figure it'd be okay, and I see your rational. That said, I hope you get to craft Rhok'delar to finally start having some fun with this deck archetype!
The only cards dependent on there being no minions in the deck are the two copies of [cardTo My Side![/card]. He has neither of those, so putting a few minions in his deck for secret synergy is perfectly valid and doesn't defeat the purpose of anything. Just because there are two minions in the deck, doesn't mean it's no longer a spellhunter deck variant.
What is the goal of the Tracking card in a deck like this? It is an early play trying to get a particular card, or just something to give more options?
The thing I use it the most for is trying to find Spellstones.
In this deck, Tracking is used to increase the quality of the mulligan - you want it in your opening hand - unless you already have the spellstone and some traps.
Very solid deck! Got early legend this season with the 66% winrate (45-23). Though I had 1xGrievous Bite instead of 1xArcane Shot, works great against Odd Paladin. The worst matchups for me were Shudderwock Shamans and Cube/Even Warlocks, you just can't win them without being able to get agression early in the game. Taunt Druids are probably the worst but I haven't seen lots of them. You can win Odd Paladins if you get some Explosive Shot or Unleash the Hound with Grevious Bite and Deathstalker Rexxar in your hand, they just can't answer to your value later in the game if you deal with their dudes. Other matchups are playable, Rogue is easy, thankfully I faced lots of them.
So if i dont have Rhok'delar whats a good card to replace it?
that's the key card of this deck(one of them), no way u can replace it
Lots of people played spell hunter without Rhok'delar in the past. Even though its a really awesome card to have in this deck, you can play and win without it. But you will lose a powerful effect and 8 damage total.
I don't think it's a key card. I played Rhok'delar 4 times in more than 40 games.
It won me 2 ou 3 games, but you don't really need it.
youre right that's it doesn't win a lot of games. It's often not the right pick in tracking. It's essentially the third win-condition of the deck. If aggression doesn't work and Rexxar's not online, it's great to refill with and give one last stand.
What's interesting is that it boosted your win percentage by about 5%. I don't think there's a more impactful card to replace it.
this deck can definitely work on ladder
Can u play this dale o without
Rhok’delarI played a similar deck on ladder in the ranks around 10, and i dont think rokdelar is a must have. Its good for a last resort and to boost your hand but this is mostly the case against aggro and in these matchups rexxar is your winnig card (actually in all matchups he is). I think the deck does well without rokdelar. Maybe tech in another removal card
Cheers
Can you play this deck without Deathstalker Rexxar. I have mostly all of the other cards.
Not really because the zombeasts are essential for minion pool and keeping your hero health up
