Overview:
Let me just start out by saying this deck looks like a meme but there's more to it than first glances. A strict warning is that this deck is DIFFICULT to play. It has multiple win conditions against different classes and requires a different play-style each time. I've played this deck a lot to get good at it and it only struggled a bit against the meta decks before the nerfs, but it was never hard countered. Now post nerfs, it is a massive meta changer and hardly anyone knows it yet!
Mulligan:
In almost every match you'll want to hard Mulligan for your ramp like Wild Growth Innervate and Oaken Summons
If you know you're against an aggressive deck, you'll want to have your Spellstones, Wrath, or Swipe as well as Oaken Summons
Against decks that cheat out strong minions early like Warlock Mountain Giant, I keep a naturalize just in case (you may use your naturalizes, it is not your only win condition)
Basic Combos:
First basic combo is milling your entire deck until you reach fatigue. If you were able to be aggressive enough during the match, you can do a 15 damage combo with Togwaggle and 2 naturalizes.
Second basic combo is naturalizing your opponent until their hand is full, then swapping decks after you've drawn most of yours. This can make you instantly win against combo decks or just give you a deck that will easily outvalue your opponents.
Third combo requires your Twig of the World Tree your Azalina and Togwaggle. Pull this off and you win 99% of the time. I've been seeing a lot less weapon removal so I've been able to pull this off a lot more times than you'd imagine.
First you play Togwaggle after most or all of your deck is gone (make sure your twig has 1 hit left before mana refill). Then you have 2 mana leftover to do whatever you want (preferably use your naturalizes). Then smack with your weapon to refill your mana. After that play Azalina to copy your opponents hand including the King's Ransom. Now your opponent can't swap back without you swapping back immediately after.
Against decks like Mindblast Control Priest, don't be afraid to change your entire strategy to just defensive armoring up. They draw so much that they'll fatigue themselves.
Edit:
I made it to top 10 now with this deck!
Dude... this deck is so bad... please no one play it cause it is so bad... def. not good in the meta at all...
(Read: pls don't play this deck... I want it all to myself...)
How are you dealing with other druid meta decks? Taunt, Hadronox, Etc
any replacement for x2 Arcane Tyrant ? thank
QUOTE If you were able to be aggressive enough during the match, you can do a 15 damage combo with Togwaggle and 2 naturalizes. UNQUOTE
What does this mean? tks
if you dont use either naturalize, then if you use togg to give them a deck with 0 cards, then use two naturalizes with your last two mana, they will draw 4 fatigues, then a fifth on their turn. 1+2+3+4+5= 15 :)
I've played 38 matches with this deck so far with a 59% winrate. Loving it for the most part but I cannot seem to beat Taunt Druid unless I have some crazy shenanigans. Spiteful Druids are rough too. Suggestions?
yeah taunt druid sadly is a tough matchup, you can still win if you're lucky enough to pull off a combo before they pop off.
Is this deck actually good? Looks super fun but idk if it's worth my dust
It is by far the best deck I've played while also being challenging and fun. For me it was worth the dust, but you'll need a lot of experience to get really good with the deck.
it's hard to do the third combo, you need at least 5 turns to setup the combo and your opponent can use weapon removal to break this combo.
I think Warlock can do it better in 2 turns with 2 Summoning Portal / Faceless Manipulator drawing and healing cards.
Edited: or in 1 turn with 9 mana combo: Summoning Portal Prince Taldaram Summoning Portal / Faceless Manipulator King Togwaggle and Azalina Soulthief
or 10 mana if replace Prince with another summoning portal
There's not nearly as many weapon removal cards being played as before the nerfs. The weapon is therefore hardly ever broken before the combo, maybe only a few times. Nonetheless you still get value out of the weapon regardless whether it's broken before you get 10 mana or just straight up using the extra attack power every turn. This combo is especially helpful when decks run Geist to destroy the naturalizes, otherwise you usually lose instantly. Also setting up the 5 turns necessary isn't that bad either, especially if you get the twig early, because the deck is mostly made up of defensive cards and it's very easy to stall. Plus you need to time to mill yourself anyway.
Is it a decent deck if I don't have King Togwaggle and Twig of the World Tree?
Not having Togwaggle would defeat the whole purpose
