Wanted to share this Elemental Shaman for those o you who opened Hagatha and want to try her out !
I've had pretty good success with this list (went from 1k7 legend to 500 with a pretty good winrate).
Fungalmancer works surprisingly well in the deck, I advise to try them !
Feel free to ask any questions or suggest improvements if you tried a similar Elemental Shaman deck. Peace !
ps : Some interactions with Shudderwock :
- You need to play an elemental the turn before Shudderwock for your "if you played an elemental last turn" battlecries to be repeated. Might seems obvious but doesn't hurt to know.
- It seems that Shudderwock does not repeat the battlecry that you choose in the first place with Kalimos (thx for the information in the comments)
I've made some changes to the deck :
- Keleseth : after some tries I think I prefer this to x2 Earthen Might
- Hot Spring Guardian : is actually better than Igneous Elemental. The heal can really help value-trading and keeping the board alive, aswell as getting out of range of burst to the face from Mages and Hunters.
- Harrison Jones : replaces Servant of Kalimos. It's just too good against Warlock, and it gives some draw to the deck against weapon classes.
- Unstable Evolution and Earth Shock : Unstable is a good value card that works well with Fungalmancer and Saronite Chain Gang but also in general with any elemental. Great tool to take a value trade and then "heal" your minions with it. Earth Shock is very good in this heavy "needs to be silenced" meta ; it gives you more time against Cubelock, you can silence a Cube from Druid, or even a Crypt Lord against Spiteful. Just a lot of good targets.
- Mana Tide Totem : I feel the deck needs just a little more draw in case you don't find your late game cards. I'm still not sure though if it's worth and will continue testing.
I'm also wondering if Shudderwock has really a place in this deck. Even though it can be good sometimes, it can also be pretty akward with the battlecriese of Fire Elemental and Blazecaller. To be continued.
Is it worth to craft Hagatha, have to mention that I might need to disenchat something like splintergraft to get it ?
Is this deck working? I'm running a similar deck but I have AoE and Grumble and no Shudderwock and honestly it doesn't work.
Stuck at ranks 19-18 get stomped by control if I don't draw Hagatha early. Lost against ShudderShaman where his ast card was Shudderwock

It's working very well for me at least ! Everytime I try something new (like Dragon Genn Paladin or Tower Warrior) I go back down to 1k5-2k, then I get bored and go back to this deck or to Hadronox Druid and manage to get back to 500 pretty easily.
From what I see we have very different lists. Yours is more of a Control like with a lot of card draw and AoE. I tried something like this, but the problem is you never have the board so you rely a lot on drawing Volcano to catch up and Doomsayer early. The problem is against Baku decks you'll never be able to just remove them from the board until late game with the storms.
My version is more of a tempo kind of deck. You take control of the board with Fire Fly, Nightmare Amalgam, Tar Creeper, Stoneshaper etc and you remove minions by trading. You can get ahead in the board pretty well by doing some good value trades unabled by Earthen Might and Fungalmancer. Fire Elemental and Blazecaller help you finishing low-health minions if your opponent value trades which lower the need of AoE. (and Blazecaller are pretty good against Spiteful decks)
You should give a try to this list and see it more like a midrange deck rather than a control deck !
ps : Indeed when you don't get Hagatha early, matchups against control can be tricky. But against very slow control decks (like Mage for example) you don't need her as early as turn 8, as long as she's not in the bottom 5 you're ok. And you can also out-tempo them and finish the game early enough for this to not matter sometimes (Blazecallers and Kalimos can make some good face damage if needed). If you are 100% sure your opponent is playing a slow control deck (mage, warrior, hadronox druid) you can keep her in opening hand.
Thx for the guide, im definitely looking for NON-OTK Shudderwock.
however, the only card i dont own isHagatha the Witch, any possible replacement for him or should i craft one?
She's defenitly very good in the deck, so if you have a lot of dust you should craft her ! But if you don't have a lot of dust, maybe you should wait for another week to see where the meta goes if you want to be safe. But this card will be in standard for 2 years, and I think it has defenitly the powerlevel required to make it to good decks.
You could maybe replace her with Thrall to test the deck. Most elementals are good target to evolve, fungalmancer is a good target to evolve aswell. It won't give you the same insane amount of value in the long run though, but I can't see any other card that would fit instead.
Quick And Good Reply!!
ya, i think i will wait for a week or 2 to see the meta
"It seems that Shudderwock always repeat the battlecry that you choose in the first place with Kalimos (at least it was the same for me after 3 tests)"
I cannot confirm this - played 2 Kalimoses, once with "deal 3 to all", other time with "deal 6 to hero". Shudder did "deal 6 to hero" twice. :)
Oh ok thx for the info ! I'll change that in the description
Are the Amalgams even good here? How about Storms instead?
They are pretty ok for several reasons. First they don't die to 3-damage AoE. They also are pretty good to take control of the board early on, being able to trade with 3-hp minions and 4 hp for a 3-drop is nice. Finally, and they are here mainly for that reason, they are a great activator for your turn 4 Stoneshaper. Going this on 3 then Stoneshaper on 4 gives you a pretty solid board.
Storms are not ideal in this deck in my opinion. In the early game, the 2 overload mess with your curve too much. In the late game you have already 3 AoE (the three legendaries).
The thing is you can already finish low-hp minions with Fire Elemental, Hagatha, Kalimos etc. Even against somethin like Baku Paladin, I think this is way too expensive to use 5 mana to clear their tokens. You'd rather take control of the board with minions and trade with them.
Despite all that I agree that they can feel pretty weak sometimes, but you need a 3 mana elemental for the Stoneshapers and this is the best option out there.
This is dope
Thx man ! :D I just grinded out a Control Warrior with a billion Hagatha's spells that was so fun !
You can replace Kalimos with a 2nd Servant of Kalimos :D You often have the option to pick Kalimos from it, I have a friend who doesn't have Kalimos and it's impressive how many Kalimos he still manage to play thx to the Servant !
For Shudderwock it's not really necessary. Since it's a late game play, Ozruk can fits. I don't have Ozruk so I never tried him but it could work, because most of the time Shudderwock is just two big divine shield/taunt minions.
If you don't play Shudderwock you can indeed replace the Saronites. They are pretty good on their own though, especially against all those Baku aggro decks. A decent option can be Fire Plume Fenix, but the Saronites are good even without Shudderwock.
