Here's my updated version of Dragon Control Priest with a few changes. I managed to get a 63% win rate with it and Top 15 Legend on EU (Proof: http://prntscr.com/in8evg). I also do coaching sessions so if you're interested here's the link: https://www.gamersensei.com/r/e8c89e
If we get 25 up votes I'll post a full guide of the deck with mulligans and deck mechanics.
Update: Thank you so much for the up votes guys! Here's the full guide.
So this deck is pretty much about knowing your win condition and how to out value your opponent. Knowing when to play Duskbreaker or Shadow Word: Horror, when to save Cabal Shadow Priest or Mind Control... All of these decisions can be crucial to your game-play. Lets check how you should go up against some of the strongest deck in the current meta.
Mulligan & Match-ups (Top Tier Decks)
- VS Control/Combo Priest - Both of this match-ups are very tricky and the mulligans might change in every situation. Usually the Combo Priest needs all the combo pieces (2x Divine Spirit and 1x Inner Fire) to kill you but you shouldn't underestimate them since they have a lot of buff potential. I'd say the best way of playing this match-up is by maintaining board control with low health minions to avoid the reverse combo (~6/7 Health). Usually you should always keep Northshire Cleric, Netherspite Historian, Drakonid Operative and 1 silence card or Twilight Acolyte for safety, you don't want to die against a 10/10 Cleric on turn 4. Against Control Priest it's all about value. Usually whoever as the most Drakonids wins. It's very important to know when to play Pint-Size Potion + Cabal Shadow Priest over Mind Control or even if you should spend any of these. There are a few rules in this match-up. If your opponent has a Drakonid Operative and you have Pint-Size Potion + Cabal Shadow Priest, you want to steal it 99% of the times, it's just too good not to do and it gives you a lot of tempo. You don't want to dump a big dragon from Netherspite Historian or even just naked Alexstrasza on board if you don't have an answer for a possible steal from your opponent the turn after, otherwise you just gave him a win condition ( ofc if it's the only play you have in order to win the game you play it). But as any other deck it's all about practice and watching streams. Feel free to check my Twitch channel, where I stream pretty much everyday with both Combo and Control Priest (Link in the bottom of this post). Or even if you want to get into further details about this deck feel free to book a lesson with me (link's above).
- VS Control/CubeLock - I'd say this match-up is very easy to understand. It's all about stealing those demons. You ALWAYS want to keep Cabal Shadow Priest. If you also have Pint-Size Potion, keep it. Having a silence may also be good for lackey, so feel free to keep Kabal Songstealer. Another VERY IMPORTANT keep is Twilight Acolyte to deal the giants on 4/5. Other than that it's the usual mulligan, seek for Northshire Cleric, Drakonid Operative and maybe Twilight Drake. You might want keep Acidic Swamp Ooze as well since it's pretty much their win condition against you. Basically try to out value them as much as possible by stealing the Voidlord with Pint-Size Potion + Cabal Shadow Priest, Acolyte Twilight + Cabal or Mind Control.
- VS Dude/Murloc Paladin - ALWAYS KEEP Duskbreaker+Dragon, Shadow Word: Horror, Shadow Visions, Potion of Madness and Northshire Cleric. Having good early game and good clear is half way there to beat this cancer. But play around divine favor, after a good clear always try to play as much stuff as possible to minimize your opponent's card draw. Try to steal Tarim Sunkeeper, if you do so, you'll win most of the times.

Replacement for shadow reaper?
Great deck! Went from R3 to Legend with 74% win rate (20-7). Thanks for the deck!!
Would you recommend this for the legend climb where there are lots of paladins?
Its pretty good against Paladins since pint-size, horror, potion of madness, etc, are all really good against aggro
Ok I played 30+ games with this deck so I want to tell u my opinion since I rly like deck and sry for my bad English.
Good things-This deck is very very good against warlock ( all type of warlocks) u can easy beat them with steal voidlords and control board ,u win in 90% of games.
Decks is also amazing against all type of agro decks (dude paladin, murloc paladin, zoo warlock)U can clear board few times just play around call to arms
Secret mage-50-50 ,(wich is not that bad) it rly depends on aluneth draw but 50% win rate against cancer is ok.
Bad things-Kingsbane rouge.U have like 5% chance to win.U die to fatuige or just kingsbane to your face.Another deck that is rly hard to beat is ...dead man hand warrior.I play like 3-4 games on rank 5-4 against them and it is rly hard cuz u don't have tool to deal with their armor,my advice is to go for big dragons from historian and make hard to him to clear board in late game.
Overall rly nice and good deck and with little luck u can get amazing win rate.I also swap one priest of fiest for Elise and works fine.GL all .
Can I replace one priest of f? with Elise? I feel like that can be nice :)
After 6 games so far It's insane how easily this deck crushes control locks on ladder, haven't dropped a game against the 4 I played against which consisted of 2 control and 2 cubelock. I lost twice though, once to a jade shaman who was getting too much tempo with jades and again to a paladin who was incredibly lucky that I didn't manage to draw an activator for my Duskbreaker that I held in the mulligan all game >.<
Just a couple games in, and I already love it. It’s forced me to consider avenues of play that I wouldn’t normally go for. Baiting resources in the priest mirror, and beating them down with a more efficient end game? Very satisfying. Thank you for sharing! +1, for sure.
Playing warlock... hate priest so much...
playing Priest... hate Warlock so much...
-1 Silence -1 pint-size -1 mind control -1 ooze
+1 lightbomb +1 psychic scream +1 dirty rat +1SWD
Its by far the best priest deck atm, just control everything in early and mid-game. Prepare to blast your opponent at turn 10. Love it!
Tried this out because I love using Anduin, the synergies are really interesting and while it might not be t1 it is super fun to win some games with!
I dont have alex and dont really feel like crafting it.. anything to replace her with? maybe with lyra the sunshard?
Ysera is the key went 25-4 with her
dont have ysera either :(
Any suggestions for substitutes of Cabal Shadow Priest?
