Does it need to be in your hand when secrets are triggered?
Probably not
Got this one in gold.
instead of aluneth it gives a body so its not a dead turn.
also there is plenty of draw mechanics to rapid draw trough ur deck atm so its defenitly better
If you play at least 4 secrets in a mage deck, it is already a must. You just need 2 secrets to trigger to be very good
If you play a full secret mage this is very insame, it will not be rare to draw 6 cards with this boy
You get a powerful draw engine with a 5/5 body attached.
I see this replacing Aluneth.
Replacing Aluneth? I'm not so sure. Like, obviously the card is great, but the thing about Aluneth is that it let's you draw your entire rest of deck to find all your burn to win the grindier matchup. Maybe this guy let's you draw 6 and have a body, but secret mage has a lot of cards that do little in the situations aluneth is good in, flakmage, ancient mysteries, flame ward, etc., so you very well might not draw what you need.
Now, I'm not saying you don't play this in Wild Secret Mage. I'm struggling to figure out what to cut for it, but I think it's worth a shot. I'm just saying it's doubious to say it replaces Aluneth, it seems way unreliable at playing that same role, y'know?
An okay refill card for secret mages or a means to get to their real cards. Definitely gonna see a video of someone overdrawing themselves to death with this thing.
Why is there more text in brackets than part of the actual card text?
Shouldn't it say "Battlecry: Draw a card. Repeat for each friendly secret triggered this game"
Seems weaker than Aluneth. Probably won't see play in Wild.
I just created an account just to say that this card SUCKS SO BADLY
A friendly reminder that Ancient of Lore was nerfed because 7 mana 5/5 draw 2 was too good.
If secret mage becomes a thing, 6 mana 5/5 draw 6 cards is pretty much overpowered. It all depends on how good is secret mage. Also I think it will see play even whithout it, if its worth to run 4 secrets by themselves you insta put this in the deck too
So on one hand, amazing draw potential. On the other hand you could draw too much, may see a role in wild secret mage but mage already has the draw three weapon from kabals and catacombs so this might be more of a standard played card.
I don't see this alongside Aluneth in wild.
