not gonna call this card good just yet but i think you're being a little too harsh on it. yes it doesn't have immediate impact but it does bring out two bodies on board which is pretty good tempo (remember, dr. boom also doesn't have immediate board impact). also, with elise starseeker, control games won't necessarily go to fatigue, although it would be pretty shit if this card brought out the monkey.
It's also a neutral minion so it could fit pretty well in druid, which is not a control deck and innervates into this would be pretty sick.
Again, not calling it good, but i definitely don't think it's as bad as you make it out to be, though board clears (also you forgot Brawl) are going to be a big problem for this card.
it would have been better if minions came with their battlecry effects.
This card is good, but not as good as the other gods. It's a 10 mana 10-10 and if you play a midrange/control/astral deck you'll probably get a very good minion. This card might not look good on paper but it has some serious value.
An Astral Communion deck! Oh yeah! As far as I can tell, that's the only good deck archetype for this card. And even then it's not great.
80% of my games are warrior. wrynn is better.
But Varian is class card
No deck other than Control Warrior will survive putting down a card on turn 10 that does nothing to affect the opponent's board.
EDIT: And Control Priest I guess. But not to the same extent.
Your midrange hunter would be better off with Ragnaros the Firelord, Dr. Boom or even King Krush. Ysera is a control card. That's not just my opinion, it's shared by most if not all serious players.
Just because you won with a card, that doesn't mean it's a good fit. I could get stars with a Core Hound in my deck, that doesn't mean the card is good.
North Sea Kraken would be a decent cheap option, if you're desperate for a 9-drop.
Mmm could have some potential with Astral Communion. But again the RNG is terrifying.
No dream from Ysera, no Battlecry from Cenarius, Ancient of War becomes really underwhelming, card draw minions won't draw you a card. This would be disappointing a lot of the time.
Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound:'' Let me put some put some minions in the battlefield so your Twisting Nether has some value.''
Golden monkey buff!!
10/10 from golden monkey is good i guess ! it's a threat pushing you for maybe lethal after you play this card and assuming it will get you another big body from your deck!
Golden Monkey is played by slow decks that often go to fatigue. And this accelerates fatigue, so... Not really a buff.
I really don't think he's as bad as people are making him out to be. That's entirely dependent on whether they nerf Big Game Hunter though. Varian wasn't that great in control warrior since he would often waste battlecries. Not to mention drawing that many cards can be bad for control warrior since the games can often go to fatigue.
Ysharrj is guaranteed to put one minion on the board and can be used in neutral non-battlecry dependent decks. Not to mention 10/10 stats are nothing to laugh at if BGH is indeed nerfed.
