Actually it has much more synergy with Warglaives of Azzinoth and Blur.

It's an almost Pyroblast (same mana to damage efficiency), that's obviously far worse if you need to use it against a minion for some reason (and also doesn't get any bonuses if you somehow had spell power out.

I imagine if this were to see play, it'd be a finisher in a midrange deck rather than anything else (aggro decks won't want 8 mana spells, and control won't want a one-dimensional finisher like this when there are better minion based options).

Double a Heroic Strike, for 4x the cost. If Zephrys the Great is updated, you should be able to conjure this up for lethal.
