This reminds me of one of the pre-change features of 0-mana Twin Slice. Something that did which was powerful was to activate "if your hero attacked this turn" synergies without costing the 1-mana for a hero power. That semi-ramp was pretty dang potent.
Commander Rhyssa are leaving standard, but they'd have been a lot more potent if you could have equipped this weapon on a previous turn. Then, you could weapon swing, get a "free" secret, and activate the synergies.
The only new one I see in Barrens so far is Cannonmaster Smythe, where ensuring you can have an extra secret, despite an opponent committed to proc'ing them. Not a huge start, but there's a lot of power in activating secret synergies for no cost on the turn you need them. Sunreaver Spy is joining Core, so a coined-weapon into SRS is an OK play.
*e* Northwatch Commander is also semi-ramped by this card. Weapon on 2, 3/4 and draw a card on 3.
Guys, this a sacred relic. It is the blade wielded by none other than George himself.
The problem for this card is , paladin will have very weak draw as it seems in the next cycle. So running a deck with like 8+ secrets to make good use of this card will lead to good games if you manage to get the weapon, and extremely bad ones with extremely dry hands if you don't. Let's hope there is a neutral weapon tutor somewhere in this expansion, else the whole secret paladin deck relying on this will be very inconsistent
“What is this? None of your business!”
This is another piece to the puzzle. Now we need some new secrets for this expansion.
While the card itself is considerably strong, I feel like a proper Secret Paladin deck in Standard would still need at least one more reward card to really be able to succeed... who knows though, hopefully the final reveal stream shows that missing piece? And, even without that, I could definitely see that as a package in some paladin decks with Oh My Yogg! and Avenge.
More like "Sword of the flying" to me.
Play mage, steal this with sticky fingers... profit?
Play a random secret in a turn with all the op reveled cards is something extremely bad, plus the secrets will be revealed before you can accumulate enough to play the legendary card, in a nutshell, an unplayable and unjustifiable deck as it lacks real support to lead the win ...
How is this random? it's not like desperate measures where you can get Eye for an eye or so.
You know you can choose secrets you are playing in your deck?
We have 2 decent secrets, so which do you want to choose !? Currently we have nothing close to the synergy of a wizard or a rogue to be able to compete with this, so it's a ridiculous card ... fill the deck with 1 drop for this !? No thanks... (also,if you have 5 different secrets, you will not find what you need the first time, so it is random ...(without considering that the next turn most likely you could regain the same secret as the previous turn, since in the meantime it will already be activated by the opponent, this card is garbage, trust those who know the Paladin's class very well)
More work for Horde Operative.
Tbh, running the secret package will only fill around 10-14 cards max. This archetype can work great with Libram Paladin since your flushing out those 1 cost spells to get to the juicy combo pieces.
this could be a good rogue steal
finally good secret paladin card
2 mana draw and play three secrets. This is definitely good enough to see play if Paladin has strong enough secrets and secret synergy.
This is the card that makes secret pally a deck
ooooh man this is actually a cool card.
