I don't get the comments saying this will be OP in Big Priest. If your opponent gets this from Barnes or Shadow Essence, you can just ignore it. The power of cards like Ragnaros, Y'Shaarj, and Catrina Muerte is that you can't kill them, but you also can't let them live because they'll snowball out of control. This you can just ignore and deal with once it's convenient.
It's a 10/10 with Divine Shield. It either blasts a third of your starting health or trades favorably into any minion once it gets to attack, how is that not threatening?
Well if you're summoning it from Barnes, it's not a 10/10. It's a 1/1. It has to die before it can do anything scary, and unless you kill it off with your own Shadow Word: Pain, that's pretty difficult to make happen. You'll have to attack into a minion two times, which means you're not able to start resurrecting until turn 6 and that's when you want to be playing Shadow Essence, not res effects.
Once you finally have it dead, sure it does 10 damage, but that's honestly not that much higher than what your other minions can do. Y'Shaarj does more, Catrina Muerte does more, even Ragnaros does more and he's barely making the cut these days. The only true advantage this card has is that it's sticky, but that's a bad thing against everything except slow, grindy control decks and if you're facing one of those playing as Big Priest, you've basically already won.
As it is, the cards you should be looking to add to your Big Priest are ones that help it win against aggro or combo. Those are your biggest weaknesses, and unfortunately this card makes both of those match-ups worse. If you pull this card from Barnes or Shadow Essence against Odd Paladin, you might as well have played nothing at all.
This card improves the match-ups that you're already winning and makes the match-ups you're losing even more difficult to win, and for that reason, I don't think it's a good fit for Big Priest. Maybe as tech for the mirror, but if you want to tech for the mirror you can do better.
You don't want to play Shadow Essence on 6 if you already have a high cost minion in your pool and Ressurect cards available.
Also against aggro, you pop the Divine shield on 5 by trading, then play a board clear (Mass Hysteria/Excavate Evil), so it dies. Killing it is not the issue.
The issue is that it has no Taunt. You want to roll either Obsidian Statue or Lich King against aggro.
I didn't say that this would be included in Big Priest btw, I said that it is threating and requires immediate care just like any other Big Priest Minion. It is fore sure an inclusion if you have this but are missing some of the other minions.
I think there's been a misunderstanding. When I said you can opt to ignore this card, I was referring to the 1/1 version of it, not the 10/10.
Big wild priest has to be nerfed, every expansion this cancer gets more powerful, this is one of the biggest mistakes of blizzard. Just have to concede after Barnes in wild games.
you might be right, we'll see how oppressive it is, but since Archmage Vargoth came out it's been even less fun to play against. They said they've had Barnes on their radar, I think this may force them to nerf him to the ground.
This is not the worst, anyway it doesn't have Taunt, so big priest may be defeated by aggro decks ... If this minion has Taunt, then nobody can stop Big Priest!!
If this minion had taunt it would definitely be broken in Big Priest. As it is right now, it doesn't really improve any of your match-ups, so I wouldn't be worried about it long term. Big Priest players will probably try it out for like a week, then drop it after realizing how terrible it is against aggro.
I can see Seagiant being HoF’ed as this makes conjurer mage even more OP
A much needed buff for big priest...
Nice buff for conjurer's calling i like it
this is going to be beatiful to get from sea giant on conjurer's calling
If someone put this to Big Priest to try it and roll it with Barnes or Shadow Essence its game over for classes like Druid, Warrior, Paladin, Warlock, Hunter. :( Every class should be able to transform minions even if for Harsh Cost. Tinkmaster Overspark isn't reliable.
I like it. Just a big dumb tough minion.
My legendary favorite of this expansion
Do the stats decrease if it's halfmoon?
Step 1: Play Muckmorpher and hit this card
Step 2: Play Ancestral Spirit on the 4/4 copy
Step 3: trade off the copy to create a 10/10 Colossus of the Moon with reborn AND a 10/1 copy without, both of which have divine shield
That is an absurd amount of stats for a combo you can pull of on turn 7 (turn 6 with the coin) and can be fit into a pre-existing deck with a decent winrate.
This seems so crazy in Big Priest, it's extremely sticky minion and getting it early can be soulcrashing (1/1 copy with Barnes for example).
