In the video, it pulled the minion out to visibly eat it, so I was wondering if there's a chance it could trigger a Deathrattle? If it wasn't for the visual flair, I'd assume from known mechanics that it would NOT trigger Deathrattles, but we haven't had "Eat a minion" as part of the ruleset before, so I was curious. Any thoughts or confirmations?
Not bad card. And we now, we just need to wait until some more mid-range - late game rogue appear. I tried to play espionage rogue for last few months, but it is pain, to survive as rogue and because of this, even interesting legendary as this card hardly see any play. But at least it is decent and interesting. Rogue now have so much interesting card, so I would like to see somehow if rogue will be pushed to mid game/late game somehow.
EAT 20/20 C'THUN NGOHAHAHA
10/10 for flavor, 6/10 for playability. If you don't double the battlecry with the spirit (which is, granted, not very hard if you only get it) you're a slave to RNG unless you run no low stated minions in your deck at all. Not to mention by turn 5 most decks can handle a big deathrattle minion in a number of ways.
This is a crazy cool card! Alot of different uses, can build all sort of stuff with this.. If not only good, the perfect craft for a casual rogue-player :D
A riddle for the community:
in 99% sure it would eat 2 different minions, gain their stats and as deathrattle return them to your hand (2 cards)
pretty sure it would eat 2 cards and give back 2 cards since its spirit card is essentially a new brann and they are supposed to have synergy
Haha very nice! Eat a minion as rule text.
Maybe for Big Rogue in wild?
For me, it is usable ONLY if I can eat Deathwing. Muhaha
That's so good with preparation -> necrium
but so is Mechanical Whelp. for 1 more mana you can do the same combo and put 2 7/7s on the board, much better than having to pay the mana 2 times for a random card from your deck.
Deathrattle rogue (my own list) play only high value deathrattle minions.
If the shark will hit something, i get a 5/5, or a 4/6 or a 7/7 (n double copy).
That's huge. It's just to have more consistency.
First off, I like the card design. It's a 5 2/2 that can Tutor. Imagine if you build a deck around this, E.g. Malygos, Ysera, or any big minions. The stats is very huge for 5 mana, it's like an Edwin VanCleef. Downside is, of course, Silence and Sap/Vanish.
This card is not bad, and I think that this card is an auto include in midrange and combo decks.
Yup, I know there's a Polymorph/Hex etc. But you do know that the same goes for Tirion or for any card for example. Yeah u can Poly/Hex that and that card. But the value is still insane.
Prep + necrium, turn 7.
That's not entirely useless, silence is not your problem.
It depends on the meta. Currently I think only Odd Warrior runs silence (Ironbeak Owl), while many decks run Mind Control Tech.
I do think this card may suffer from not fitting in any existing deck: the average target in Odd Rogue is terrible and for Deathrattle Rogue it's not much better because of Devilsaur Egg and Mechanical Whelp. And in Shuffle Rogue you would rather get big shuffled-in minions in your hand with the discount still on them. But perhaps there is some kind of Big Pirates or other new archetype that is viable?
Deathrattle activators are indeed better used on other cards, since what you typically need is a tempo swing, not additional value.
In a deck with large minions this card would be good, since even if it got removed it wouldn't be the last big threat, so pulling removal is useful too. But I don't know of any Rogue deck that fits that description. For Druid this would be an easy card to build a deck around.
