Big Rogue tier 1
Blizzard has been copying Elder Scrolls Legends cards since Mean Streets of Gadgetzan arrived, copying Gwent is just another step in their "creative" direction.
Wished it was eat a minion and gain its stats and effect
You, my friend, are wishing for a horrifically overpowered card.
There's a lot of talk going around about how Graal is especially weak to silence or transformation. All of this talk has merit, however, so is Myra, Edwin, Sonya, and Sherazin. And while no, it isn't a "double loss" for any of the previous cards, dropping a hefty Edwin on turn 3 or 4 can still win you games outright if they don't have an answer. Because they won't always have an answer, I think Graal will see some play in aggressive Rogue decks that pray to get that hefty boi out early.
And honestly I would say that Edwin is a bigger risk than this card is. Because with him, you're dumping all the cards in your hand to make him powerful. If he gets answered, you're stuck without a paddle, and without a big minion. At least with Graal, he demands an answer by being a big minion, and only costs a single minion in your deck to do so.
I don't think this Shark should be counted out just yet.
I think people are slightly overestimating the cost of the Deathrattle not going off. Sure, this minion being transformed or silenced is bad for you, but that's true of a lot of cards that see play. The Lich King is way more susceptible to transform effects.
If you don't get any deathrattle procs, its the same as not drawing whatever minion it eats. And if it gets silenced, that's a similar tempo loss to someone silencing your Devilsaur Egg (a 2/2 is worth a bit under 2 mana, so you're losing about 3 mana). And obviously, its some pretty nice value if you can get multiple procs, such as with Necrium Blade
Incredibly interesting card, with more than one purpose actually. Totally worthy of Rogue.
It may fit Odd Rogue as a card draw?
Or Big Rogue.
Its weakness to silence may be problematic, but Rogue has Necrium Blade and Necrium Vial...
WHEN this gets silenced... it'll be a massive tempo and double minion loss. Too risky to play imo.
No really since this card also thins your deck
I honestly see this card as pretty meh. If it had stealth, it would be absolutely terrifying in certain decks, but it currently is just so weak to silence, transform, and hard-kill that it just doesn't cut it. Also, if it were to eat a card from your opponent's deck, it would be WAY better with the ability to screw up combos like Shudderwock in much the same way that warlock does.
Guys, if it eats The Darkness it's gonna eat the "Dormant" stat and it won't trigger the Battlecry so you'll end up with a useless sleeping minion on the board
Edit : my bad I thought "Dormant" was considered a stat
you didnt read at all
it will eat the 20/20 stats
and add the darkness TO YOUR HAND
dormant isnt a stat
Dormant isnt a stat, it is an ability.
The idea is like Myra Rotspring but has better stats and you take more risks. So....They're going to be in the same deck maybe? Some kind of Battle-Rattle deck or something? I don't know Blizzard, what are you thinking? For a Rogue main that has been waited for hours this is pretty unpleasant. Priest got this super cool idea about zombies and cards that cost 1 mana instead (which is slow and I'm not complaining), Mage got this crazy synergy for their Hero Power and their freaking cool a** Ragnaros and that is ONLY just came from the Loa and Spirit themselves. Meanwhile Rogue keeps on getting Meh cards or not-only-so-so-but-also-boring-af legendary cards which is not cool and unfair. I know they haven't released all the cards yet but for goodness sake show us Rogue mains some love (because we all know where this is getting)
just doesn't really seem worth the effort. If it had better base stats you could consider it but right now it's just a prime silence target.
If it would summon the minion that was eaten we'd have a different story, but this way I don't see the point. It's not like Rogue has the support to just run only a few big minions and only spells.
Although i am curious how it interacts with The Darkness. in that case you could try and run a meme deck a la Yshaar'j-Barnes to get a 22/22 on turn 5.
Damn shame, because I really liked the shark idea.
This card is very good. You don't even need a deck with only huge minions. If this card hits a Fal'dorei Strider, it's a 5 mana 6/6 deathrattle: add a Fal'dorei Strider to your hand! If it hits SI:7 Agent, it's a 5 mana 5/5 deathrattle add a SI:7 Agent to your hand.
You probably don't want very small minions like Fire Fly in your deck. 5 mana 3/4 deathrattle add a Fire Fly to your hand is bad.
The disadvantages to this card is that it's very weak to silence, and that the opponent knows exactly which card it adds to your hand. So even though a 5 mana 5/6 deathrattle add a Vilespine Slayer to your hand is insanely good, your opponent will now know that you have it in your hand.
for me it's not clear: would it activate DR of an eaten card?
Pretty sure it will not but heck, no one knows what Eat means
You're gonna need a bigger boat.
