Man, if you ever get this Sonya Shadowdancer to hit this card, that's insane value.
That being said, the card itself has really good value (probably on average a 5 mana 5/5 deathrattle draw a card). Probably auto-include in any rogue deck, even though rogues generally run smaller minions.
Any other class and this would be broken AF. Imagine in Druid, lol.
Might be 10/10 on 5 when it eats The Lich King, even a 5/6 after eating Vilespine Slayer is nice since you get the card.
If it gets silenced, your other minions is gone and you get a 2/2.
It's a risky tempo card with a very nice payoff. Very flavorful too!
(and yes, Priest only can steal this if it eats the Spirit of the Shark, thanks for notifying me)
Potion of Madness, Shadow Madness, Kabal Shadow Priest would only work if it eats a 0 or 1 attack minion (very unlikely, if not impossible in the decks it will be played in) ...
If it eats the Spirit of the Shark is what I thought, maybe I should clarify it^^
Could it eat The Darkness???
Haha yes
The Darkness finally viable?
Well with prince Keleseth can do something. 2/5
I feel like this might be good in Arena, where I'd guess the average minion body in a deck is a little bigger. Suppose a 5-mana 5/5, Deathrattle: Draw a Card. That's OK.
But in Constructed, there just seems like so much potential for massive low-rolls (5-mana 3/4 with Flame Elemental), as well as for Silence and Hex and Sap and so forth.
It seems like it'd be a waste to use Rogue deathrattle tricks like Necrium Blade on this, except perhaps in some strange, skewed combo deck -- impossible to foresee and unlikely to even exist.
Underwhelming
another understated trash legendary for rogue. I didn't expect it to be good so whatever
Necrium+Totem Shark+Oondasta but i dont see it if its random.
If you build your deck the right way for this or you highroll, it can be a 10/10 or something for 5 with card advantage which is obviously nuts. The damage you'd have to do to your deck to make this consistently good...that's another thing. However, even in Wild Deathrattle Rogue that runs little piddly guys like Mad Scientist, Barnes, Umbra and Kobold Illusionist, your low-rolls will end with a 5 mana 5/6 with Deathrattle: Put a Barnes in your hand or 5 mana 4/4 put a Mad Scientist in your hand. That's still not terrible and it only gets better from there. All will depend on how prevalent silence or transform is in the meta, but unless you literally run a deck with tons of tiny one- and two-drops, this can be a monster in your Rogue.
If it gained it's stats AND card text (or if the eaten card's deathrattle triggered!), I would be all about this. As is... I will withhold judgement until more cards are released. Seems too vulnerable to silence and doesn't fit into any archetype just yet (i.e., I wanted it to fit in with Tesspionage lol).
hm, if you roll really high on the minion you get, this can gain a lot of stats for a 5 mana minion, also necrium vial and blade make this quite an interesting if you get a good minion that you want multiples of. also spirit of the shark let you get 2 minions eated and 4 minions(?) back to the hand.
Even though it doesnt explicitly say it, I assume this card eats a “random” minion since It does not say “discover”, and Hearthstone doesnt have a feature for looking at all minions in your deck.
Given that, and given that the card you eat goes to your hand, i still think this card has serious potential. i’m sure someone will figure out this puzzle lol
prep + necrium -> profit with deathrattle cards
Would it trigger the deathrattle of the minion eaten?
no
Maybe Im wrong, but I would think it would not trigger the deathrattle of the minion in your deck. Its basically discarding the card from your deck.
I think “Eat the Minion” is very flavorful and cool, but its also kinda confusing in terms of what that means in-game lol
