Panel Recap
We're covering this live. Refresh for updates!
- Trolls are awesome - Peter Whalen 2018
- They wanted to capture the essence of all different types of trolls. Best way to do it? Fight!
- The characters each class will see will come from the faction each champion represents.
- Overkill - they wanted people to feel powerful, you're a gladiator after all.
- Spirits - they wanted build-arounds for all the classes.
- Originally, spirits were unable to be removed. It didn't feel good.
- Spirits also at one point had lots of health. Still chances to not do your "cool thing". Stealth helps give you a better chance of getting to combo with it.
- Spirits are all for the early game. Do your cool stuff at the start of the game when it isn't yet decided.
- Loa are super awesome legendaries. They feel like the classes they are in.
- Loas aren't meant to go in every deck, they need to go in "the right deck".
- Each class has their own team they are a part of. Each team has a Loa.
- Spirit cards are intended to work with their Loa. They're going to go in similar decks.
- A Troll Champion is also on each team. They are a legendary minion (one class gets a hero instead)
- The other seven cards (non Loa, Champion, Spirit) are going to be within each class' theme.

True but the focus is on the mech, not the pilot. There are a bunch of cards with people riding a beast or a mech that don't have those tags, should they all have tags added?
Keep in mind, tribal tags aren't just for flavor, they have a mechanical impact. I think it's ridiculous to say that, in borderline cases, blizzard can't decide whether things should have tags based on trying to balance the set.
all of those are shredders with something in them, not something in a shredder.
rewatch the trailer and you will see the giant troll ( who looks like he represent warrior ) dropped the warrior spirit card, which is also looks like a totem.
Omega Defender was a goblin in a mech, so it's not a mech
The spirits are spirits in totems, so they aren't totems
For me Omega Defender should just had gotten the mech tag instead of different art.
Anyone else feel the spirits should have a totem tag? Atleast the shark one look like a totem - Trolls use totems - would make sense to add the tag.
I Know totem tag only matter for shaman, but still - I think they have messed up the opporturnity several times - Bonemare is a great example which clearly should have a beast tag or a future undead tag.
Imagine if they printed a card that summoned totems other than basic ones, like pre-nerf Tuskarr Totemic these in the pool would make it very overpowered. They're probably aiming to make Totems a Shaman exclusive. Undead tag on the other hand should be a definite future tag!
I just wonder when we will see this undead tag - they already used Naxx and the Frozen Throne - Maybe something like "Spoils of the Plaguelands" or "Scholomance school of dark arts"
i made a post on the general forum to tell everyone about this info, and i added a source.
https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/225711-hunters-legendary-zuljin-is-the-new-hero-card
Any source for this? They havn't said anything about this on neither of the streams, nor the hearthpwn articles mention this.
They said it durng the panel.
Wow, thanks for that havn't noticed that.
it is a hero card and a hero portrait, Hunter's legendary Zul'jin will be the hero card.
A new hero? The hero cards will be so powerful after rotation, hard to see anything be able to beat the value game with Hagatha, Boom and probably this new one.
It's a new hero portrait, not a hero card.
"A Troll Champion is also on each team. They are a legendary minion (one class gets a hero instead)"
Neither Hagatha nor Boom are as bad as the old DK cards and offer no infinite value, because of rng.
They removed the Enraged word to be a clearer and more understandable ability then added Overkill which doesn't say anything by itself. Good job.
You're telling me you saw Overkill, bolded, on a card, and didn't have any idea what that could possibly mean? Enrage was confusing- it sounds more like a trigger than an ongoing effect.
