I just find it funny how people actually think this card will see any play in a Standard (Seems like people can't read so I have to underline it) Big Priest. While in Wild you have tools like Barnes that curve well with this card and can punish opponents for not killing the 1/1 copy so that you can't resurrect it, in Standard you have less than zero tools. If you REALLY want a copy of a big minion, and you don't care about drastically reducing its stats you're clearly playing an OTK deck with some Prophet Velen resurrecting shenanigans. Oh, what's that I see? But it's Vivid Nightmare a strictly better version if you're trying to OTK your opponent! How mind-blowing! And if you're trying to play a deck that's more about having a board of giant minions, rather than OTK, what are you even gonna cut for this? How are you gonna survive with a hand full of incredibly heavy cards that do LITERALLY nothing if a minion doesn't stick on the board?
You guys are overhyping this card way too much. I'm not saying it doesn't have any potential in Standard, I can see a couple of decks that might want to run Power Word: Replicate but if you seriously think Big Priest as we known it right now would run this, you'll be pretty disappointed.
This card has some potential, but we might never discover it if the majority people keeps being this closed-minded, and it's definitely worth a shot in Wild Big Priest.
You only need to look at the decks on the front page to realise that the Hearthpwn community isn't the best source of competitive discussion. I'd strongly suggest somewhere like /r/CompetitiveHS if you want a serious discussion about the new cards, and even Hearthstone in general.
I wasn't really hoping for any competitive discussion, I just didn't expect people to worship a card like it's some kind of celestial being just fallen from the sky. You do your best to provide your opinion about the card, but if you even try to say it's bad... No matter how hard you try to explain your reasoning, they just attack you without telling you why they think you're wrong. I don't pretend no competitive discussion, i just want a discussion period.
I was really shocked by how closed-minded some users are, since I started using my Hearthpwn account just recently.
Most of the people are just giving example of combos, which have never seen play in the game :).... how you can do discussion of power of some card in hearthstone meta if only examples are from uncompetitive combination which have 10% win rate if stars allign (but they may someday work better). You expect to talk with someone, who actually is playing hearthstone in competitive meta.
Yes, this looks like an obvious compliment to Zerek (the new legendary). However my intuition suggests that a spell only counts as having been cast once it has resolved, in other words (in this case) after the copy of the minion has been made. If this is how it works then logically a Zerek copied in this way would not have its deathrattle activated. Doesn't that make sense? Even if it does I assume that Blizzard will hard-code the interaction so that the copied Zerek would have its deathrattle activated.
Gadgetzan triggers its draw before the spell happens. “Whenever you cast a spell, draw a card.” If you played a whispering woods with the auctioneer on board with 3 cards in hand (excluding woods) it would summon 4 whisps. Playing it is the act of casting it, and it resolving is just that.
Maybe. Most of the time. Yet, Faceless sucks with some cards, like eggs, for example. This card is insane with eggs, while faceless sucks with them. Also, think about Priest cards with "summon a 1/1 copy of" effects.
flexible card but not sure if it will see a lot of play in standard
+100
Obvious synergy is obvious
Finally a good card for a lepper gnome priest deck.
here we go again
Better than faceless in an oakheart deck. but other than that most cases facesless or vivid nightmare are better. maybe some form of big priest in wild but their deck is already pretty full.
The fact that the copy is always 5/5 could make this good in the sense of versatility for tempo plays. Faceless needs to copy something big, and vivid is almost combo only. It's not the best priest card ever but I think it has some potential :)
Why in hell only Friendly minions? Could be so good
Has potential, but as someone who plays an unreasonable amount of otk priest this is to expensive to play in the deck, but maybe it’ll find a home one day
the fact that it's a spell and not a minion could matter, so it's not strictly worse than faceless.
it puts the Warlock cards in the basket or else it gets the hose again
