I feel that I should say this card is trash just to mix with the crowd.
this had to have taunt and we could use it with Kobold Monk on turn 9.
it was for defending you from free charge minions tbh.(like a free Bloodreaver Gul'dan combo).
Otherwise, I know this has kind of a hidden taunt.
If you can somehow cheese this out if it gets Some support cards, a New otk druid is Born.
Get twig, cheese this out to use malygos into UI > hit with twig and you get another 10 mana to cast spells.
These kind of cards can’t be called trash untill everything is revealed, saying it is just Makes you look like the trash noob.
Huge potential to lose you the game even more so than Temporus.
Since this card is the first to be played that turn it will be your opponent that gets to use this first. And if you already are ahead this is useless, and if you ate behind chances are aeva druid you wont be catching up due to no boardclear.
Correction: card's name should read DUSTfallen, not Duskfallen. Please fix this, Team 5, thanks.
this is good against aggro decks , as most of the time the playing cheap cost cards , while druid right now can play big spell big minion combo is easy as 1 2 3 @ early stage
Oh... so THIS is how Hunter gets to play Emeriss before turn 10, it all makes sense now. I get your logic now, Blizzard.
What happens if the opponent isn't a Druid?
Going to go out on a limb here and actually defend it. This card acts as a lure so that your opponent plays a fat minion on their next turn (say, Lich King, Tirion, Lyra the Sunshard, Obsidian Statue, Marin the Fox, Malygos, just for a few examples). They play their expensive card for free, and think that there's nothing you can do about it. Then you play Naturalize on their freebie minion and deny them one of their biggest threats.
True, this would not be a wise card to play against, say, Cubelock or any Mage, but I do see a practical use for it. It's a bait card that makes your opponent think you are an idiot for letting them play a free minion, but gets turned on it's ear when you fish out a high priority minion and it's destroyed.
In Wild, I can see this used as a combo with Poison Seeds, which is the Druid's best board clear, and fit even better in that format. You want to get high priority targets off the board (a full board of N'zoth deathrattles, both Ragnaros, Mal'ganis, Mysterious Challenger, Y'Shaaraj, early C'thun, as a few more examples).
Don't consider a card junk just because it isn't a meta defining card in your eyes. Once again, the card is designed so your opponent thinks it's safe to play one of their big threats. It's meant to punish those greedy to fall for the zero cost when you have a means of dispatching the minion. Millhouse Manastorm this is not.
Relying on secret strategies doesn’t work though.
If playing this as bait is the intended way, people will fall for it once at best and then play other stuff instead.
If it is part of a combo, you need to wait a turn and people will mulligan for single target removal and play that for free.
But this is a legendary you want to use as bait, for removal that they can play for free, without interrupting their normal turn.
If you play this, your opponent gets to play the removal for 0 and then their normal turn. You baited the removal with the tempo loss of doing nothing on your turn.
No one will play big stuff into this if your deck concept is holding removal for it and no one will let you keep this.
Even making them wasting removal on this is considered worth it. They wasted a removal that could have been useful later on what they presumed was a troll legendary.
Seems like druid’s gettin many shit
but What If...?
there’s gonna be a card that can freeze your opponent deck or something similar
Combo Potential~~~
Is this an april fools joke? Cause it says duskfallen avian here, but duskfallen aviana on the homepage, but duskfaller avian on the reveals page. And it just happened to get leaked? Pretty late in the day, but who knows, maybe the annoy-o-trons were a diversion
I have questions if the first card you played costs 0 does it gives 5 mana back or just blows your first card’s discount?
Blows it. Pint-Sized Summoner worked the same way.
Why would you get mana back? I would compare it to Prep and Pint-Sized Summoner reducing the cost of the first card regardless of cost.
