If we can get DK-Uther's weapon back its a good trade
This all but confirms there wont be nerfs to the Oozes, Harrison Jones, or any other weapon destroying cards.
Good.
I thought they already said back at blizzcon they weren't making any changes to existing cards this time around?
This card is pretty damn underrated. a 1 cost 1/3 to return the legendary weapon back to your hand (provided you are, say, a mage or priest that has access to no other weapons), and you get to play it whenever you want over again. This plays around the Oozes and Harrison because there's a way to get it back, which means people will now have to start playing smart. Oh no, hearthstone's going to be ruined now! What am I ever going to do if I can't play my brainless tempo deck that wins on turn 5 unless the opponent actually knows what the game is?
Besides, these cards aren't like the quests or hero cards which demand a specific deck archetype, these are cards that are like "Oh hey, this is in my deck, maybe I'll add this card to make that card even stronger". Like The Curator, he sucks on his own but if you add a dragon, beast and murloc into your deck, suddenly he is one of the best. Or even any of the spellstones, they encourage you to put in a certain type of card into your deck, as opposed to revolving your whole deck around them. Additionally, even if you have Medivh, the Guardian or Tirion Fordring, that's a pretty good weapon to have in your hand twice.
Works with atiesh and shadowmourne, cool and might be relevant
Oh cool, so that's how you make legendary weapons a "meta". You just give everyone the tools to use them 3 times in a match. I mean, I'm still keen to see where this goes, but I'm seeing a pattern here....
Yeap burn ur money to get the new op legends.
So that's how they're forcing legendary weapon synergy...
Why in gods name do they keep printing unplayable epics?
Sure print bad cards but make them common!
But then more people would have the bad card?
This will see play if a deck is based around the legendary weapon, as it gets around weapon destruction. Will we see a deck like that, maybe not, but who knows.
-play this guy (3 mana)
- Asume that the only destroyed weapon was a legendary one
- Play your weapon( since apparently the deck is based around the legensdary weapon you need to get it out asap)
- All currently revealed weapons are more than 5 mana ( except Anduin's but good luck casting 3 spells with 4 mana left, and Malfurion which if already destroyed is useless to equip again)
- Your turn is over in the best case scenario of having 10 mana to play both this guy and the weapon. You have a 1/3 on board.
I guess if the game slows down to a crawl it will be good, or if weapons turn out to be so great that you have to run 1 of these as some anti-ooze tech
Umm.. because Arena is a thing in the game that many take very seriously.. if they print a really bad common like this, then it is horrible for Arena players.
I tought the problem with Arena was having egyptian-god level cards like Bonemare and Flappy Bird as commons and rares?
I think you're really under valuing this card. Let's pretend it read 3 mana 1/3, Battlecry: Add a Jade Claw to your hand, would you play that in a Jade Shaman build, especially when you have access to evolve mechanics?
Now what about other weapons, as you can control what weapon comes off of it normally, or at least make it close enough that it has a certain baseline of playability. Don't forget, as time goes on this card also becomes better as you have more and more options to play along side of it.
We still have what, five more legendary weapons we haven't seen this expansion alone?
No i would not run a worse acolyte of pain in my deck. I mean maybe but stonehill seems way better since you get a 0 mana 5/5.
I think the druid one is easy to put in a deck, same with mage, the others seem a little clunky to me, but druid can make a deck that can combo with 20 mana, and mage has ice block so it can just live long enough to get value off of huge draw. those two might not run this though, I mean druid might, but mage does not need to fatigue itself.
Well, I'd say that its actually better for bad cards to be in higher rarities. They turn up less in packs and when they DO turn up you can get some good dust for them.
