Except that's definitely NOT how it works...
I never said it did..
"It could have been worded like this" means you're changing the wording but the effect is the same. That line of text is for word choice, not idea replacement, and thereby you implied the Kobold and your card did the same thing.
"I would've liked it to be this:" would have made all those 11 people who downvoted you realize that you were suggesting a different effect, instead of a word change and everyone getting confused on why you don't understand how the card currently works.
More about your idea:
Nothing can reliably survive. No matter its stats, be it a 3/1/3 or a later game 5/3/10, premium removal still exists. Furthermore, the purpose of Rummaging Kobold isn't to bring back a weapon you've consumed, but one that a Acidic Swamp Ooze, Harrison Jones, or any other weapon kill has removed. The Kobold counters the anti-weapon tech.
I doubt anyone would enjoy a minion that *doesn't* counter weapon removal and it *only* functions if it's in play when the weapon is removed.
THAT STILL BELONGS IN A F*CKING MUSEUM
-Harrison Jones, probably
The stats are poor, but the potential to get a powerful weapon, especially one of the DK or KaK weapons, back to your hand is an appealing proposition. Pretty bad for Rogues and Pirate Warriors, but I'm pretty sure nobody will mind that ^^
You have to keep in mind that the DK weapons are usually the same cost as the DK itself. So bringing a 8 or 9 Mana weapon is actually not that impressive
By the time you play Rummaging Kobold the body is probably worthless*, so I'm thinking the best comparison for this card is actually Shadow Visions. Obviously there's a big difference between random and discovered, but since the pool of random weapons is specifically destroyed weapons and relatively small, odds are pretty good you'll get something useful just like a discover effect. Ultimately, the question is "what's a second or third copy of a powerful weapon worth?" Paying 2 mana for a second or third copy of a good spell in Priest is worth it, and I think paying 3 for a second or third copy of a useful weapon (especially if you can play it immediately and gain tempo) is probably worth it too. (At least it's probably worth it for weapon classes where you're more likely to get value out of this - if the only weapon you have is your legendary weapon, you might not draw these in an order that makes this useful.)
*Shaman might actually get a lot of value out of this. A more midrange Jade Evo deck could get a ton of value out of an extra Jade Claws, and the weak body is unimportant when you can evolve this into a 4 drop minion.
Joder, que turra...
What if... What if candle IS weapon? Mind = Blown
Oh my sweet jesus. Okay, looks like Legendary weapons are viable after all.
And thats a good news? force this so hard?
Will be look like priest vs priest today, i draw my Legendary and u dont, i win.
Yah so nice.
I wonder if we will see Blackwater Pirate in the future, if the game becomes focused on weapons.
Doubt it. The very slight tempo advantage that card affords is just not worth a card slot in any deck, aggro or otherwise. It's just too slow with poor stats.
i just realised that Grave Vengeance and Shadowmourne both cost 8 mana. FeelsBad
Our dreams are gone.. At least Ashbringer is 5 mana
why feelsbad ? Shadowmourne is fine for 8 Mana. This weapon is broken and would see play in every slower Warrior deck for 8 mana.
and Blood Fury costs 3 mana too
welp! looks like Paladin DK will be worthless for another expansion FeelsBadMan
