I'm really loving this Joust mechanic. Blizzard thought process was clearly, "We want more charge options for control decks, but if we create those minions, we will just be buffing aggro decks. How can we make a charge card that can only be used in control decks?" Enters Joust.

For example, face hunter doesn't particularly care when his explosive trap goes off, only that it does. Because control hunter is a reactionary deck, being able to pick when you place traps is more important than getting them out for free.

10 Armor? No problem. Turn 9, Scaled Nightmare, Blessing of Might. Turn 10, double Blessed Champion. 40 damage. Possibly before turn 10 with Thaurissan. Requires a slow matchup and some luck.

I'm done with arena for a while. Went 1-3 playing against constructed-level decks, meanwhile my deck sucks. I'd rather play against constructed decks in actual constructed so I can actually have answers. I have most of the cards in the game, not sure why I keep going back to arena in the first place.

So I managed to pull this off against a Mana Wyrm/Unstable Portal deck. Aldor was, hilariously, used against the 9/9.

Someone already said it but here's proof:

This brawl has the most potential for fun and interesting shenanigans. But no, it's the least interactive brawl I've ever seen. I immediately built a deck with Unstable Portal and Shifter Zerus, which would be fun against like-minded people if I could find them, yet it's Naturalize/Coldlight, so I can't do anything, or Ice Block/Fireball, so I can spend the whole game trying to find one of two minions that removes secrets, or some aggro combination that ends the game before I can get anything interesting from Zerus. Is there some new quest I'm unaware of, win 100 games of tavern brawl in under an hour? I swear I'm the only person who plays this game for fun, and everyone else has to win as quickly as possible, even if it takes the most boring strategy.
Edit: The brawl meta did get more interesting after the initial games, and I've actually been able to have a lot of fun.

I'd say Thalnos for sure, because the spellpower and cycle together in one makes it a really powerful card. And it works in other classes, though not often seen apart from Freeze Mage, you might be surprised what it can accomplish in Druid or Priest. It would certainly be a curve ball for your opponents.
Oh, and, though I generally avoid crafting any cards that aren't epic or legendary, I'd consider 100 dust on that second Gadgetzan dust well spent. You'll really want two of those.

Quadruple deathrattle does work, I've just tested it. Also, Brann with Forlorn Stalker has some hilarious potential...

I was playing a Reno Paladin with a bunch of heal and Yogg-Saron for fun on the first day of the expansion (wanting to open a few more packs before crafting N'Zoth). My Soggoth survived on the board against a Control Warrior for 7 turns. I also had two Tirions that game, one of them a 7/7. I also had a Soggoth (from golden monkey this time) survive a 22 attack C'Thun onslaught at 1 hp, giving me lethal next turn. So you might like Soggoth for his pose, but I really like this card for the work he's done for me. Best entrance animation of the set as well.
