Well I can't stop playing ranked if I never started to begin with. I've been playing since the launch of the game and have never once tried to climb ladder to legend. Seems like a boring repetitive grind playing with and against the same broken decks game after game. Creative deck building, not caring at all about win-rate, exclusively in casual mode is where all the fun is at for me. Pretty sure winning in a videogame is more of a life accomplishment for all the un-athletic people who were never able to make the school sports team growing up in order to experience what real winning in a real competitive event feels like.

Malygoddd posted a message on MC tech - the problem no one sees?Posted in: Card DiscussionYou title this "the problem no one sees" yet at the end you say "Hopefully many people agree..."
You're clearly just looking for people to agree with you instead of promoting an actual discussion.
Yes, as no one seems to be talking about this issue, so I bring it up and hope that people realize and agree? I don’t see a problem there.

DSchu102285 posted a message on HS vs MTGA, and why?Posted in: Other GamesQuote from hillandder >>This is by far the best free experience, you get full playable decks every day, the ammount of free card in a week is far more generous than HS.
I still wonder how anyone can pause at this. Obviously any new CCG will have to be more generous than HS to lure the players otherwise they might as well not release the game in a first place lol. That is not to say that HS couldnt be more generous, but like listing this as a plus is so ... irrelevant? It will always be true.
Maybe it's not relevant to you but for many who want to play other CCG that are coming out this kind of feedback is relevant.

breach_deciphern posted a message on Something that needs to honestly be saidPosted in: General DiscussionI need my 'Sorry' emote back, I can't imagine why would they have removed that. Gul'dan's sorry is like universally the best emote in all situations.
anyway you can't have a healthy community when the game itself is so unhealthy on a lot of fronts.

CrovaxTheCursed posted a message on There's nothing worse than conceding... and then "Thank you" An Experiment.Posted in: General DiscussionIf the emotes didn't sound so sarcastic in this game, I think it wouldn't tilt people so much when they're played. It's pretty rare that someone isn't being a dick when they're emoting, and the tone of the emotes makes it worse.
Historically it hasn't bothered me much to be bm'd with emotes, and I always wondered why people fuss about the auto-squelch function, but I'm starting to see it now. Since probably Karazhan it seems like the opponents I face are much less friendly. It used to be everybody was emoting Greetings at the start of a game, and not just to be annoying. Those days are gone it seems, and I'm actually aboard the auto-squelch train. I'd say 1 in 30 games I get an emoter who isn't trying to be an ass, but about 1 in 5 maybe that are being douchey. Not sure why the emotes are even in the game, it's only "fun" for the person spamming them.

olj posted a message on Why dont we have game modes with custom rules?Posted in: General DiscussionPeople saiyng noone would play it or that its overcomplicated are plain retarded and should be hired in Ben Brode team immediately.
The problem is, however, Blizzard too lazy (or just dont give a fuck) to do this. Even though the possibilities are endless, they will stick to their "bullshit meta standart" and "crazy-shit/eboladin wild" formats. Also - ppl will invest less money if they could suddenly play other formats where you don't need to waste tons of money to get all cards for top tier decks, which is a big NO-NO.
SaltMoney shall always flow. Its like League of Legends where you play only 2 maps (Yes, I know there is also Twisted treeline and Dominion, but God, they suck balls) for like 4 years.

Because they don't want to influence the meta before the meta's a thing? - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I feel this way a lot. Sometimes I'm right and it's stupid luck. Other times I slowly realize over time I can draft and play better. I come in and out of playing Arena, and every time I come back I start off playing badly but it feels like bad luck. Not that there isn't bad luck, but if you draft and play as well as anyone, shouldn't you have your share of both bad AND good luck?

Synergy.

It's a fair question -- if there wasn't one, would those thoughtless dolts just skip the reply vs. pointing to the salt thread?
On the other hand there are lots of times someone thinks they're starting a good discussion about something, but start it off with such a negative and non-constructive tone that I'm glad everyone is salt-threading them. It's kind of like a tech thread.

I've been playing since Goblins vs. Gnomes and learned to not play rank almost immediately. When I tried to rank, this went from a fun game / hobby / diversion to a plague on my time and mood.
I imagine those playing ladder are a combination of a) those who thrive on that sort of thing, and b) those who have not yet reached your conclusion and are in some form of addiction.
So good for you, I've found plenty to like between Arena, Brawl, Casual, and solo to keep me happy for an average of a half hour to an hour per day, for many years now.

Ladder is, not all of Hearthstone. 90% of players don't make the distinction, but still.

People are being dicks because, aside from being dicks, your title is misleading. It sounds like you won't open all the packs you bought/earned right away. I would agree that is pretty silly.
But after reading, sounds like you're not going to spend a lot of money to buy packs right away. Realizing that, your theory is right on the money. I broke the cycle of shelling out $50 a year ago and never looked back. I get excited for every 100 gold earned after release, it keeps me going, and it also keeps me from feeling like I have to compete on the bleeding edge of the meta all the time.
So good for you and have fun.

Didn't love it, but then I hated the old way too just because it was SO touchy. How many times I tapped to turn over a card and instead it swiped to the next card.
2
Never seen a game mode topic this good. Seems a) fun, b) challenging/lots of variables/diverse meta, and importantly c) not such a stretch from the current game engine that it could never happen.
2
Love the idea, but I would add "Draw a card." to the Topdeck text. Allows you to not assume it happens, some could be draw two cards, etc. Some keywords are better off as shorthand for events or triggers but not assuming subsequent actions, those are usually best listed explicitly.
