This weeks tavern brawl focuses on deck building. Its in the 1st sentence: "your deck building skills will be put to the test"
.........Except, no they wont, because almost everyone is netdecking. I played at noon, shortly after its release, and I played the same matchup 5 TIMES in a row, with all the same cards as far as I could see. Why, just why?
When tavern brawl came out last summer, I was pumped. It was SUPPOSED to be a wacky, throw the rulebooks away kind of break from the contant grind of the ladder, something fun to mess around with to break up the monotony of playin secret pally after secret pally. It has turned into ranked 2.0.
This weeks brawl was based on Kripp's challengestone, where pro's got 1 hour to build their decks for tournament play. It was formated this way to encourage originality.
I could understand if I had hopped into the brawl on the weekend, after everyone had recieved their free packs, running into the try hard net deckers. But the brawl was HOURS old and it kinda pissed me off that the people I faced ALL DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO BUILD THEIR OWN DECKS.
Am I wrong for wanting to face some ORIGINAL decks? Am I the only one who thinks its kind of fun to not know EXACTLY what my opponent has in his deck, especially in a format that is supposed to promote outside the box thinking?

I played once as each and won both games but I actually thought the Annoy was the better deck....at least for my playstyle

See, Plague and Poop, perfectly acceptable options! Plaguedin or Poopadin. Poop Hunter. etc

Yeah, the Internet in general is pretty nasty, kinda brings out the worst in people. Thanks though.

I know people are gonna hate on me for saying this but I really wish somehow the HS community in general would not call decks "Cancer" anymore, its pretty disrespectful to people that have had to see someone they love deal with that terrible disease and in many cases lose their life to it. Certainly we can come up with a more tasteful and clever term. The more I see it the more I begin to think it would be nice to not see it anymore. Obviously one post in one random thread won't change anything but just a nice thought I guess....

[cardimg=gold.] [/cardimg], without the period and with the card name in between, this will show a picture of the golden card in the post, I don't know how to post just the name of the card in the post and when you point the mouse at it, it shows the golden version of the card. If anyone else can share how that's done, I too would like to know.
For Example Wisp but when you point at it, it shows the gold card.

IMO I actually think Priest and Shaman got some of the best cards in the expansion. I DO also think that players will need to look outside the current decks in the Meta to make them work. The real question, in general, is will this expansion effectively slow down the meta? Or will the new decks that come out of it prove too slow to match the current aggro/more consistent combo decks that currently rule the meta? It will probably take a month or so to really see, but you must admit it should be interesting to find out. I for one would like to see a slower, more strategic Meta, with a larger number of viable decks and more overall variety in the game. HS will grow old and tiresome if this does not happen.

I can't comment on this seeing as I'm colorblind, however, that little cartoon was pretty funny.
