Don't you think that there is something hidden under the hood, when you have to buy at least 200-300 packs to complete the entire expansion which is 132 cards? It sound ridiculous to me but thats things are with Blizz...
Counter-intuitive? Yes. Ridiculous? That's a matter of opinion. Evidence of foul play on Blizzard's part? Definitely not. The figures are consistent with what math tells us they would be if Blizzard didn't tinker with probabilities. Which looks like pretty solid evidence that they actually didn't tinker with probabilities.
Yes! That was another thing I wanted to mention, because I've noticed it as well. I definitely seem to get more cards that I already own, rather than cards that I do not own.
This is both confirmation bias and birthday paradox.
The birthday paradox is this: if you pick randomly people in the street and ask them when their birthday is, how many do you need to pick in order to have a >50% chance that two share the same birthday? If you answered 183, you're wrong. It's actually 23. (More details here if anyone is interested.)
Applied to Hearthstone, it means you're going to open duplicates long before you have half the set. (If someone less lazy than me wants to work out the precise numbers, be my guest.) I agree it can be frustrating to get duplicates of poor cards when you still miss good ones of the same rarity, but it doesn't mean the system is rigged by Blizzard.
I understand the "story synergy" for Shaman, but Devolve really should not have been a Priest card at all. Ever. In any class. Under any circumstances.
I was wondering if every daily has the same probability to pop up in your quest log, or if some occur more frequently. It seems to me that I've been getting more than my share of 40 gold dailies recently, especially the "win 3 games with any class" one, but the sample is far too small to be significant, not to mention that at least part of it could be selective recall.
I know there's a site that collects data on card rarities, in order to get stats on a significant number of packs opened. Does anyone know if there's anything similar with regard to dailies?
It all depends on what kind of deck(s) you want to play.
If Rogue is one of your favourite classes, you can't go very wrong with Edwin VanCleef. Since he's a Classic card, he won't rotate out of Standard, and he's always been a staple of the class. Malygos is also good. I don't play much Rogue, but I'm currently trying a Edwin-less Malygos Miracle Rogue deck. I seem to be an exception, though; all the Rogues I face play Edwin. I would also highly recommend Bloodmage Thalnos for his Spell Damage + draw versatility and the fact that he can also be played in other classes, especially Mage and also some Druid lists.
For Hunter, I think only Leeroy Jenkins would be interesting, if you're playing an aggro list.
As for the other cards you mentioned:
Twin Emperor Vek'lor is only played in C'Thun decks, which is only Warrior today since C'Thun Druid and C'Thun Priest are all but dead. While it's a powerful card, I'd advise against crafting it, since Blizzard has said there will be no more C'Thun cards in the next expansion and so the future of the archetype doesn't look bright. Of course, there might be other cards which synergize in some other way to bring it back, but it's probably better to wait.
Grommash Hellscream, on the other hand, is a staple in many Warrior lists, C'Thun or otherwise. Like Edwin, you can't go very wrong with him if you plan to play Warrior.
Alexstrasza is mostly played in Freeze Mage, which goes in and out of fashion depending on the meta. Currently it's not in a bad place, with its good matchup against Midrange Shaman, but since the next expansion is likely to shake that up, Freeze Mage will likely also take a hit. So unless you really want to play this deck no matter what, you'd probably better wait.
I don't understand how the Frostwolf Shaman works. Is it a Grim Patron-like, "whenever this minion survives damage, add a Lightning bolt to your hand" effect? From what I understand of Enrage, it's a continuous mechanic, like "as long as this minion is not at full health, apply the effect" and therefore needs a continuous effect: attack buff, weapon buff, etc.
Definitely not if it comes before a meta change -- in other words, before the next expansion is released. If I want to play Midrange Shaman after Midrange Shaman after Midrange Shaman, I can queue up in ladder, thank you very much, and I don't even need to fork 1000 gold or 10 bucks.
On the other hand, this brawl coming just after the release of the next expansion would probably be great, and I might very well try it.
Edit: so Ben Brode has confirmed that Midrange Shaman Fiesta will happen before BlizzCon. Okay, thanks, but no thanks. And my fingers are apparently too light, it's 1000 gold, not 100.
Also, as far as I know (someone please correct me if I am wrong) TB is an all-out random match, regardless of skill.
You are wrong, there is a MMR for (non-cooperative) brawls, distinct from ladder and casual MMRs. It does carries over from week to week, so your initial matches will be affected by previous, unrelated brawls, but it will probably move quickly if you experience a winning or losing streak in a specific brawl.

Usually, it's available until the release of the expansion.
