The only reason for a pirate setup, beyond patches and a couple to draw him out, is if you are trying to improve your Kathrena pulls by avoiding low cost beasts.
It's probably not a strong deck now, but I think there's a possibility it can be very good next year after a couple expansions, giving time for Team 5 to further develop the concept.
Desperately want some form of an OTK or combo Shaman. I see potential there with Windshear Stormcaller, Grumble, and the new Murmuring Elemental. That's definitely the first deck I'm going to try and work out this expansion.
You should consider how the new evolve spell synergizes with Gadgetzan Auctioneer.
Against aggro you would need 2 elementals, or firefly, and the spellstone in your opening hand to get 2 random spells early in the game. Those spells are less likely to address your current situation rather than a glyph that gives you 3 choices and a 2 mana discount. With Glypth you can score a free frostbolt, a 1 mana Volcanic potion, or 2 mana fireball, the list goes on.
Here's a link to my deck. Feel free to take any ideas as I obviously took some big ideas from you and you seem far more willing to do a good write-up. :)
You would have to swap out the prince. As you already have the harrison, the ooze could go if weapons arent that popular. Some other options that I currently use and are considering are Tar Creeper and 'How long can this go." I think you could use the taunts and they synergize well with Keleseth. I don't run Scalebanes or Curator. Your Scalebanes are nice because they are dragonfire potion tech. Just food for thought. Since you only have 5 beasts, Curator could represent anti-synergy with Kathrena.
It's a cool card. That i won't deny, but elemental shaman needed a good 2 drop that it could play on turn 2 without losing tempo. This is a card you don't play until at least turn 6 or later, because the battlecry you combo with this must be played the same turn.
I was building a similar deck with Keleseth and you gave me some really cool ideas with Grand Archivist and Spiteful Summoners. I gave you credit in my notes.
My own innovation you might want to consider is Bright-eyed Scout. Can provide a big turn 5 swing and still a great draw once you play Hemet.
I think the only spell worth running with this is deadly poison. Even with the stars aligning, i don't see myself playing envenom when vilespine exists, even sap. I don't think the lifesteal enchant is good either. So unless you're planning on running minions that buff your weapon and are good on their own when you cannot find this weapon, this card is going to drag your win rate down and it still might do that if you are smashing your face into minions cuz envenom.
I think people need to calm down. How is this card as meta defining and good as psychic scream? I know we're desperately wanting one if these weapons to be good but c'mon.
Calm down lol. I'm already down to just good/playable. By morning, I'll be at bad. My pessimism needs time to warm up in the winter. NOTE: not dusting legendaries in standard ever.
I'm voting very good. One mana cards can be the most dangerous cards to print. However, the only way this is meta defining is if it spawns a new aggro deck or makes tempo rogue even stronger. Calmer thoughts prevailing, telling me this is a wait see but I'm optimistic this will see play.
While the chances of redrawing it can be low, if it's redrawn, that's 9+ damage over 3 turns for 1 mana if it has just one deadly poisen. Its a huge upside.
It's good but not game-winning because it's a 1-mana weapon and Blizzard obviously tested this already. With Deadly Poison, it's a 3/3 weapon for 1-mana which is only ok in the late-game. With Envenom Weapon, it can destroy 3 minions but Rogue's health is a problem. 1-attack means Leeching Poison is useless, unless you're willing to play a weapon Rogue that revolves around a 1-mana legendary weapon.
Atm, I agree with you on Grumble as the proper support needed for Elemental Shaman has not surfaced. I don't think think a big build around is necessary for this weapon to work. It just needs a few weapon buffing spells and minions to work.
I can see this in pirate rogue, pirate tempo variant, and even miracle rogue.
