Tar Creeper and Tar Lurker are really good taunt for polarity switch happen only at the start of Thaddius' turn so they get 2 extra hp. got it on second try! Really good deck, I used Alexstrasza and The Lich King too instead of the second Siphon Soul and Lord Jaraxxus.

Tokar posted a message on Ben Thompson and Ben Brode Twitter Q&A - Sarge, More Classes, RNG, Ladder, and MorePosted in: NewsWhile we all love Hearthstone in spite of its many flaws, I strongly believe the developers, Brode especially, is out of touch with what playing, and grinding, is like. Case in point is this ludicrous statement:
BB: I feel like maybe players haven't figured out Meat Wagon yet. It is super fun and can be very powerful. I've been playing it with Validated Doomsayer and Devilsaur Egg which because they have 0-attack they come out via the Meat Wagon and it might be powerful.
I picture Brode and others at Blizzard sitting around laughing their asses off at their janky decks with their weird combos having a grand old time - the problem is that is not reality. Reality is people want gold, to play arena or to get packs, to get better cards, or get more dust to make cards they want. Some (most) people want to get as high rank in ladder as possible to get even more rewards. NOBODY wants to sit around wasting their time playing jank just because you might pull off some weird fun combos, but ultimately get nothing out of it.
If Blizzard had a true casual mode, with rewards, that might work. If Blizzard had some more creative quests to encourage creative/weird/wacky stuff then in might work. But as-is, the game is enough of a time sink and grind, so take your Meat Wagon bullshit and f-off, Brode.

reallybadmtgplayer posted a message on Ben Brode on Ranked System Weakness, Tournament Mode, Community ConversationsPosted in: NewsI will start with a small disclaimer - I am NOT a ranked player (save to get at least to 20 for the cardback) and am 100% free to play. So I admit I don't understand the draw for tournaments, better ranked experience, etc.
But I am confused a bit about the hate around RNG cards, not just here but across these boards and elsewhere? From my perspective, limited as I mentioned above as it is, isn't that what adds a differentiating factor to electronic card games from standard paper card games? I also have play Magic: the Gathering, pseudo-competitively, for over a decade, and like any card based game, there is always RNG (for physical games, draw RNG in this case). At least in that game, the draw RNG is often what establishes players as skillful versus lucky. As a mostly limited player, you can draw god hands and crush all comers, anyone can, but to take a mediocre draw and skillfully maneuver, that's a real veteran of the game.
Back to HS. The "true" RNG cards only available to electronic formats, are again what feels like a charm for the game as opposed to a downside. The last expansion (MSoG) was horrible - from my perspective - as one of the most consistent decks, Pirate Warrior, had literally 0 non-draw RNG, and I think I speak for many when I say that playing that deck was terrible. In the current format, though it still exists, the wide variety of other options that you mention help keep it at bay. But then there's Quest Rogue doing the same thing, with equally as much anger around playing against it. On the other hand, the control and even Murloc Paladins strongly rely on RNG (Stonehill Defender, Hydrologist, Gentle Megasaur, Ivory Knight and Dirty Rat if the last two are played) and are a very strong deck to pilot that also require significant skill outside of just the luck of pulling Tirion's, Kodo's, and Windfury ad nauseum.
I completely agree that some games when the RNG seems completely stacked against you, that it can be easy to just bottom right and log off for a few days (and I did just that towards the middle of MSoG as I was so tired of Pirate Warrior in casual). I hope that this does not come across as a troll or flame post, I am just very much trying to understand the dissatisfaction over some very unique and in many cases well designed "true" RNG effects.
To any that read this all the way through, thank you for your time!

Metroid1228 posted a message on Ben Brode on Ranked System Weakness, Tournament Mode, Community ConversationsPosted in: NewsI think tournament mode is overhyped... as ben said, heroic brawl is exactly that... whats really missing in hearthstone is a custom game mode where everything doesnt revolve around being COMPETITIVE just as every other game mode, sure tavern brawl is fun ( most of the time ) but its an incomplete experience.
we need completely customizable game mode where you can set the games rules, ban cards, decide on the number of cards in the deck, your starting hp and all kinds of custom rulesets, it's not a small task but it can be done...
me and my wife we buy 500$ of cards each when a new expac hits, of course we have higher expectations playing a near 2000$/year game then we would have playing call of duty or other brainless games where they spend millions developing new features and modes all the time.
the small indie dev excuse is no longer valid, as much as I like the new patch with deck import/export and everything... this is small and took a long time versus what we expect of a game dev who makes billions upon billions
step your game up please, hearthstone isnt only about competitve gameplay.. or else 1/2 of all the cards wouldnt even exist.

Once you've got the good start (ramp card + auctioneer) win is guaranteed on turn 7. I played a bit more just for the luls and the screenshot with the big jades :)

Great deck! Got it first try. If you miss some cards, like the legendaries you can replace them with Cone of Cold, perfect to stall even more the board while waiting for a blizzard or flamestrike and Coldlight Oracle to speed up the mill process and avoid that he reclaims board control or you run out of critical spells

Best deck out there for this boss. Got it first try.

Deck was good but because of the lack of a second blizzard and other ideas I had I slightly tweaked it. This is my version if you're interested: AAEBAf0EBMABrgPJA5KsAg1xngKhArsCvQPLBO0ElgXsB/UPuhbpugKP0wIA

Got it first try. I was lucky to have two divine spirit and inner fire when I drew Deathlord making it a 32/32 monster. He was stupid enough to attack it with Heroic Strike so from there he was already dead

Deck still works perfect and as already suggeste in comments with Shadow Word: Horror and Tar Creepers instead of mass dispel and two silences

Easy 1st try win with Mill rogue, I actually forgot to gang up the coldlights oracles but Brann and Youthful Master helped me bounce them enough to mill him. His hero power really made things easier compared to other bosses (cough Rafaam unleashed cough)

As of K&C Meta this deck is still rock solid. Did it after 3 tries. Even though I was missing some cards as long as you have the core of the deck it works ok. As I was lacking antique healbot I put in cult apothecary (though I never end up using them) and two mistress of mistures because I was lacking one owl and one emperor cobra
