Yes exactly. Mask of C'thun, Flamestrike, and Arcane Overflow override each other in annoying ways all the time.
Granted you USUALLY prefer to just... clear the board with Flamestrike. But getting Arcane Overflow and a pair of dragons is potentially going to be pretty nice.

FiendishKodex posted a message on Drakefire AmuletPosted in: Drakefire AmuletHe’s saying Mask of C’thun and Flamestrike don’t run well together. Many board states that can to Flametrike’d can also be dealt with using Mask, and when using Dawngrasp Hero, it always sucks to have Mask cast first, only to be followed with a flamestrike that does nothing. This being a fire spell allows you to put some stats on the board with Mage Hero.

KillJack posted a message on Is Burgle Rogue really that big of a deal?Posted in: General DiscussionI don't find the deck to be that big of a deal either, until it comes to Mr. Smite + Shadowstep shenanigans. And since Mr. Smite is what most people dislike about Quest Warrior also, he might be the card to get a nerf. (maybe?)
I couldn’t believe it when I saw the reveal.
Take Leroy out of standard for being too strong and then just put in the same card for one more mana with huge upside in a meta full of mana cheating…
And the fact that the Juggernaut can summon it is absolutely ridiculous.

SirJohn13 posted a message on Is Burgle Rogue really that big of a deal?Posted in: General DiscussionActually even with Maestra there is some effort required to get them down to 0 early. (1) add an otherwise bad card to your deck, (2) pass the first turn and sometimes the 2nd turn too (or at best just trade away a card). Running Maestra makes everything worse: early, mid or late game topdecks, passage. Not playing your cards for 1-2 turns also hurts a lot vs other fast decks. here the rush ability of the gnoll is key as it allows the deck to recover from the slow start.
My opinion: Gnoll to 6, remove rush or make it 4 health would all be reasonable nerfs that would have an impact on the deck

FortyDust posted a message on Is Burgle Rogue really that big of a deal?Posted in: General DiscussionGives Rogue a Board clear (+Tempo) wich the class should never have because this contradicts the class identity. This was what the devs said when Vanish was removed from Standard.
Guess you haven't noticed the current design team has been ignoring class identity across the board lately. What was said in the past has no bearing on what is happening now.

It is absurd. Not only would it be more advanced than any AI they’ve featured in the game (Zephrys, CPU opponents, Auto Deckbuilder) it also would have little to no upside other than frustrating their own playerbase. I’m basically an F2P player and whenever i’ve hit a “progress gate” i moved past it by editing my decklist or changing my approach. There’s never been a situation where i had to buy packs to increase my winrate, which would be the only functional purpose of implementing such a system.

So far it’s one of the worst metas i’ve ever seen. I felt like druid was out of hand before the set came out but now this Kazakusan thing?? Disgusting. Priest in comparison feels fair even though their game plan is very similar. A vast majority of my games consists of decks that play nothing for 4 turns and then ramp up to do something unbeatable or a deck that answers every play i make before unleashing their win condition around turn 8. I would love to see a functional midrange deck manage to overcome this garbage but i can’t see it happening without some serious nerfs

So sick of warriors being able to clear whatever they want for little to no mana

i play in Diamond/Legend and i have never seen a face hunter hesitate from throwing every single card they have into the board as fast as possible. There is no trading or interaction with minions unless it’s from a Piercing Shot or a Trampling Rhino for more face damage. Shadow Priests are just as bad

Imagine actively hating a game and trying to convince players to “run away” from it while being logged into and browsing through a website solely dedicated to that game.

I think it was made into an article because the deck was created by a staff member (or site contributor). I actually appreciate the insight into a high legend deck in wild that isn’t Hunter or Warrior tbh

Video of last game I won to hit legend (vs. Hero Power Mage):

Edit: For some reason I can't make the video public so I had to choose the password protect option for the upload. The password to view it is "1"
There is also a misplay on turn 7 where I fail to trigger my opponent’s Oasis Ally before activating my Brukan’s AOE effect, missing 2 damage. There may be other suboptimal plays but thankfully they did not cost me the game.

I was watching a high legend streamer who commented that aggro archetypes (Taunt Druid, Elemental Shaman, Face Hunter) do well after nerfs because they’re taking advantage of people who are refining new decklists. Basically they’re farming free wins until other decks become efficient enough to squash them.
Personally speaking though, i just hate the way face hunter works. So many other decks have came and gone while Demon Companion and Intrepid Initiate turn 1 is still the foundation of damn near every game against these guys. Don’t even get me started on the Rhino.

Ive been reviewing the meta heavily both playing the burgle rogue deck and playing against it with other classes and my main takeaways are as follows:
1. Poison Rogue is a much more uninteractive, degenerate archetype that shouldn’t exist in this game compared to the burgle deck. It’s in the same vein as garrote except for the hope that you will draw a viper in time (if you’re running one) or otherwise lose because they’ll either give their hero stealth to stall until they kill you or Garrote you to death. It’s a showcase of all the worst aspects of this game all rolled into one and a deck that can highroll into an early 4/5 does not compare.
2. There is not enough attention in regard to the toxicity of this deck, maybe because some people see it as “fun” but Guff Druid is out of control at the moment. I’m willing to bet that if Scabbs or Rogue gets nerfed like everyone is asking for every other deck you see in ladder will be a Ramp Druid summoning two 8 cost minions and gaining 16 armor before discovering Yogg-Saron with a resizing pouch and stealing the game. This and the poision rogue list are way bigger problems than any tempo-based deck imo
