I was thinking about Magma Rager and that it is probably worth close to 2 mana for its stats. Got me thinking what would a 3 mana 1 health vanilla need to have in attack power? This line of thinking lead to the card below. Do you think a card like this could have a balanced mana cost?
I added the card text to stop this card from being turned into a 1/99 taunt or given stealth or charge.
u are forgetting that they want hs to be good for beginner and those ppl playing it for very long.
a very wide spectrum of gamers.
so bbb is a basic card and available for all new comer to use. so when new comer open a pack and get evil heckler, they will be happy and it can be used by the new comer straight away. it also in some ways teaches the "value" of a card.
No, Evil Heckler is bad for new players! Not if they get him, then they are happy for sure. But if they don't get him... Ofc it is only this one card at the moment and it doesn't make a difference by now. BUT if we reach a state where every single basic card has been power creeped (4/5 tazdingo, 4/6 yeti, 5/3 truesilver etc.) then new players are fucked. They can never win against those better cards. And if they can't win, they will NEVER get gold to get those cards (All of hearthstones gold gain mechanics are focused around wining. And you can't even gain gold or complete quests against AI which is dumb.). So they either have to pay money to get packs or they can not play this game.
This leads to new players not trying the game and so in a slowly dying game. THAT's why power creep sucks so much.
The ELO system ensures that every player rises to the level at which they win 50% of the time. New players will just stay at the low levels with other new players until they get enough gold to get enough cards to build better decks.
Power creeping playable cards is bad. Power creeping cards that are NEVER played is nearly the same thing as buffing those unplayed cards.
Cute little fun card. I wish it was available to Shaman. (Or just Neutral) But at least there's a chance to get one from Neptulon.
Never really realized how well-suited Paladin is for a Murloc deck. Especially with Divine Favor.
He's not...
While new cards are being revealed this whole expansion appeals me less and less... Pal's biggest nemesis - priest - got fantastic cards while Pal got shit tbh Eadric the Pure is semi-good but is nothing compared to let's say Aviana, Confessor Paletress, The Mistcaller or Wilfred Fizzlebang... I have a feeling that the game after TGT will be even more luck- and draw-based and the differences between classes that are already strong and classes that are already weak will be even greater (perhaps apart from Shaman and Priest which both got superb cards). Sadly as usual Pal and Rogue got shit and Warrior, Maga and Warlock got great cards... as usual :/
Have you forgotten muster + quartermaster so quickly?
Ben Brode mentioned on the stream that Darnassus Aspirant does not give an excess mana card. Only cards that are completely useless will give Excess Mana. Since the Aspirant is still a 2/3, it doesn't give you the excess mana card.
Just to clarify, does Knight of the Wild need to be in your hand prior to receiving discounts for playing Beasts? Or can it be in your deck but slowly creep lower as you play Beasts, let's say 3, and upon drawing Knight of the Wild costs 4. I'm guessing it works in the former and not the latter but the couple of us are trying to discern this over on that cards discussion thread.
definitely the former. If it was worded "This minion costs (1) less for each beast you have summoned this game" then it would work in your deck.
Everyone spouts out the word power creep like it's the most terrible horrible thing in the world. Of course, slowly increasing the average power of cards with each new expansion is bad and unsustainable, but power creeping over the WORST card in the game is totally fine to me (if they decide to never buff cards). I mean, they thought a 5/1 was worth 3 mana when it's barely worth 2 mana. So now they realize that a 5/2 is worth around 3 mana and made this card instead. I don't see why everyone is so upset with it.
I mean, I don't really know why Blizzard has decided to basically never buff old unused cards, but this is basically identical to buffing BBB and Magma Rager. They're common cards so will be nearly free.
It's really funny how many people base their decisions on this being bad by saying "You'll always get unlucky and not discard it or when you do, it will hit the wrong target."
I don't really understand why this is "being mean to paladins." Isn't imitation the sincerest form of flattery? How does this affect paladins in any way?
If there was a spell that said "(0) draw a card" then almost every deck would play it. Having a smaller deck is really good for most decks as it makes them more consistent.
I remember when I started playing the Might and Magic online card game that there were some very generous beginner quests that awarded a lot of cards and packs. Hearthstone will soon needs to add some more generous new user quests and awards to give the new users a bit of a jump start towards having enough cards to play constructed.
But they can always play arena and everyone is on the same page. So really it's only constructed that there is a huge gap. When you think about it, we've been playing for over 1.5 years so clearly we're going to have more cards and experience than new users. The thought that someone should be able to pick up Hearthstone TODAY and be competitive on ladder is ridiculous.

As far as I can see, both will.

Ironbeak Owl says hello

This clears the board plus Lava Shock to kill the remaining 1-2 health on a big minion.

That's a 2/2 for 1 mana (even better since it gives a 0 cost spell). Would be incredibly overpowered.
